I would buy this product after every surge.
We haven't had any surges to test this with yet but after a lot of research I feel good knowing we have these and they're affordable enough to replace should it absorb a surge. The reputation and quality seems great.

Electronic protection at it's best!
This power strip was highly recommended to protect my expensive electronics and it was a greatly appreciated recommendation! Well constructed and it has a very flattering appearance.
