The U442-DOCK1-B expands the potential of your tablet, laptop, Chromebook, MacBook, smartphone or PC's USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 port. It's ideal for transmitting digital audio and video to a large display, adding a thumb drive or other USB peripheral, powering and charging a PD Charging-compliant mobile device, connecting to a Gigabit Ethernet network and a lot more - all at the same time.
With a source device that also supports USB DisplayPort Alt Mode, you can extend video from your primary display to another, duplicate the same video on both displays, or change the second display to your primary.
To send digital audio and Ultra High Definition video to a 4K-ready HDMI or Mini DisplayPort television, projector or monitor, connect the corresponding port to the display using an HDMI or mDP cable (sold separately). The Mini DisplayPort and HDMI ports support UHD video resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 (4K x 2K) @ 30 Hz. The VGA port supports high-definition resolutions up to 1920 x 1200, including 1080p, at 60 Hz. Only one display can be connected at a time. A DisplayPort or DVI display may also be connected using an mDP to DP or HDMI to DVI adapter (adapters sold separately).
The USB-A hub ports accept up to three USB peripherals, such as flash drives, mice, keyboards and printers. They support fast USB 3.1 Gen 1 data transfer rates up to 5 Gbps and are backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices. A BC 1.2-compliant port provides up to 1.5A of fast-charging power to mobile devices.
The USB-C Power Delivery (PD) port provides power and charging to the PD Charging-compliant device (such as a MacBook, Chromebook or Android smartphone) the U442-DOCK1-B is connected to. Connect the device's AC wall charger to the USB-C PD port, which supports power input up to 60W - 45W for the USB-C device and 15W dedicated to the U442-DOCK1-B and its USB-A hub ports.
The RJ45 port offers access to a Gigabit Ethernet network when no Wi-Fi is available or when a wired connection offers faster speeds. Connect using a UTP cable (sold separately), and enjoy true 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet speeds for fast data transfers.
The USB-C dock's 3.5 mm mini stereo jack is convenient for connecting speakers, headphones or a microphone to your workstation. You can listen to music or record the latest episode of your podcast.
The memory card slots support Micro SD and SD/MMC cards for transferring data to and from your connected computer, laptop or tablet.
Connect the reversible USB-C plug to your source device's USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 port. The fumble-free USB-C plug connects in either direction to ensure fast, easy connection every time.
The plug-and-play USB-C dock for MacBooks, Chromebooks and other devices requires no software, drivers or external power. The compact unit fits easily into a pocket, briefcase or laptop bag for connecting on the go.
The U442-DOCK1-B comes with a 3-year warranty. It's manufactured in compliance with strict RoHS specifications, reflecting Tripp Lite's commitment to environmental responsibility.

Quick and as promised
The USB 3 dock was delivered quickly and works as promised. This is my second one - need a second for my COVID home office. Only criticism is that I wish the lead was longer to plug into the computer. With the six inch lead it has to sit right next to the computer with all the connecting wires.

Good docking station.
I like it. I don't take it with me. This one stays in the office.
Nice because I can put the power right on it and it powers the laptop. One USB-C to the MAC and everything else though it.
I wish there there a Mini Data Port and a ThunderBolt. But I really needed the Mini Data Port for my old Cinema Display --- works great for that.
