This USB 3.1 hub expands the potential of your tablet, laptop, Chromebook, MacBook, smartphone or PC's USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 port. It's ideal for connecting to a wired Gigabit Ethernet network, adding a thumb drive and other USB peripherals, and powering and charging a PD Charging-compliant mobile device - all at the same time.
The RJ45 port offers access to a Gigabit Ethernet network when no Wi-Fi is available or when a wired connection offers faster speeds. Connect using a UTP cable (sold separately), and enjoy true 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet speeds for fast data transfers.
Three USB-A ports accept USB peripherals, such as a flash drive, mouse, keyboard or printer, and one provides up to 1.5A for charging smartphones and other mobile devices. All ports support fast USB 3.1 Gen 1 data transfer rates up to 5 Gbps and are backward compatible with previous USB generations, so you can continue using older peripherals while getting high-speed performance from new devices.
The USB-C Power Delivery (PD) port provides power and charging to the PD Charging-compliant device (such as a MacBook, Chromebook or Android smartphone) the USB-C network adapter is connected to. Connect the device's AC wall charger to the USB-C PD port, which supports power input up to 60W.
Connect the reversible USB-C plug to your source device's USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 port. The fumble-free USB-C plug connects in either direction to ensure fast, easy connection every time.

Tripp Lite USB C Docking Station
Great product for quick and easy addition of USB ports via Thunderbolt port. While not what I would consider a true docking station, it is great for travel and the ethernet plug allows for better wifi on other devices in the home.

Handy hub
I purchased the USB-C hub to extend the amount of USB 3.0 slots for my laptop. The addition of the ethernet port and the USB-C slots were nice features that I thought would provide much needed utility if needing to manually connect to a ethernet cable and or if I needed to connect to a USB-C power source. No complaints with this purchase as it has served it's purpose so far.
