Viking DLE-200B - line simulator

The Viking® DLE-200B™ Emergency Telephone Ringdown Circuit produces two-way communication between analog telecom devices by simulating an analog phone line. Popular applications include dedicated point-to-point communication and telecom equipment demonstrations without a phone line. Use the first and second external dip switch to customize ringing patterns. With Dipswitch 3, users can increase audio volume by nine decibels, increasing modem and fax connection speeds while minimizing data error. Dipswitch 4 comes in handy to facilitate a decrease or increase of time before ringdown by two seconds.

Turning on internal Dipswitch 1 enables the dial tone and ringdown-off mode for prison applications. Operators can toggle internal Dipswitch 4 to adjust the CPC break length after hang-ups from two seconds to 150 ms. Port 5 helps set the device as a one-way or two-way ringdown unit. In case one device goes off, the Viking emergency telephone ringdown circuit will generate a dial tone for two seconds and ring the other device. The device then produces a ring-back signal as a confirmation that the connection is successful. The ringdown circuit provides a 32V DC talk battery to keep the power requirements at a minimum.
