Nice print quality, but horrid experience
I bought the printer two years ago and I have in that time never been able to print from a Windows machine without going into the print dialog every time and selecting the appropriate tray manually. This is something I didn't need to do 40 years ago when I started working in tech. It should be a simple fix, I spent a few hours onlne trying suggestions I could find via search, then went to the Xerox site to try and get support, which seems impossible.

Great printer, less great setup
We recently purchased the C7000 to replace individual ink jets printers for much of our staff. The printer performa amazingly aside from some initial setup quirks regarding paper size auto selection. I would give setup 3.5 stars, but I give the printer 5 stars once you clear any hurdles involved.

The right printer for the job
We needed a serious printer for handling a wide variety of collateral material, labels, tags, instructions, etc. I haven't had a Xerox brand machine in over 25 years. This one had better specs for a better price. After a month, it is proving itself very well. My staff is happy.

Reluctant to print
I have had this printer 2 years. I have not previously had a printer like this that regularly refuses to print. The paper settings seem to be temperamental, and it is laborious to work out where to change the settings when the control panel reports the paper settings need to change, though I only ever use normal A4 portrait. The company does not want to help on the telephone when I call for assistance.

Great 11x17 printer
I am a small architectural firm that was seeking an 11x17 laser printer for checksets, presentation/graphics documents and field note drawings (didn't need drawings bleeding to illegibility in the field when it rained). Use is light and this printer fits the bill both budget and production wise. Output speed is perfect, and the printer has performed flawlessly since I received it. Price point was great. I couldn't be happier and would highly recommend it.

Good print, not high volume, and toner expensive.
Print quality is good, features are good, but is not real fast for high volumes.
The biggest negative is that the toner cartridges are very expensive.

I have had the machine for 30 days. There was no where to demo the machine so I had to take a leap of faith. The machine overheats, makes the paper curl terribly and goes through a ton of expensive toner. I'm very unsatisfied with it. I do not recommend it at all

not quite
The printer has nice features, it prints relatively fast, and it can accommodate 11x17 paper size, which is rare for the price point. Printouts are quite nice, toner is expensive but per page it's not as bad as others out there at this price point.
There are some issues that makes it not optimal.
The printer is slow on startup. It takes about 2 minutes before it can start up and take jobs.
It has all sorts of issues with InDesign. They've fixed it with a firmware that's not publicly available, but it took us a lot of frustrated hours to have that resolved.
The printer is very sensitive to paper size and paper type. If it's off, it will give you an error or the paper jams.
This thing is also huge and very heavy.
Overall it's an ok printer if you absolutely need 11x17 and good quality printouts and relatively cheap cost per page.

Super slow control panel
The control panel is very slow on this machine. Touch screen but you have to wait between selections. The other feature that is really annoying is you have to tell it what the paper is every time you open a drawer or use the bypass - even if you are loading the exact same papers. The machine "works" fine. The copies are clear. But it is very frustrating machine to operate.

A glimpse into the future: A printer with a mind of its own.
High quality color prints on tabloid size paper. What's there not to like? The printer is a bit heavier and bulkier than it seems in the pictures. It worked well out of the box on regular letter sized paper.
But changing the paper type or size is not very intuitive. I first wanted to change it in the Settings on the control panel, but the settings only shows you what has been selected before and it doesn't allow you to change it. Strange. I had to call tech support to find out that the printer asks you to confirm or change settings each time you open and close the paper tray. I would rather set the paper sizes in the Settings (on the printer's control panel), and not have to set it again (or confirm the settings) every time I reload the tray.
On the positive side, the printer allows you to specify the color of the paper you are printing on (such as yellow, or ivory, or many other colors) and then it automatically subtly adjusts the print colors to adjust to the different backgrounds.
On the negative side, everything has to be just perfect or it won't print. If there is even the slightest mismatch in the color or type of paper, or if you forget to set for an envelope in both the paper type and paper size, the printer refuses to print and there is no way to manually over-ride it. I wish I could tell the printer: "Yes, I am aware of the mismatch, but I want to print it anyway." But there is no way to do that. The printer has a mind of its own and it won't allow you to trick it or work around it.
This may be good for the best quality print, but it can be very frustrating when you would prefer to over-ride it. I guess that's one of the potential perils of future technology where robots (and printers) will be too smart for us and will refuse to follow our commands. The printer knows best. Humans can be ignored. This printer is a good example of that. You have to play by its rules. It won't play by yours. Sooner or later, if you want to print on something other than letter sized paper, you will probably find yourself in an endless loop where no matter what you do, the printer keeps repeating the same error message that the settings don't match.
Still, overall, it's a good printer, once you learn to play by its rules.

Our office Versalink C7025 is slow and the functions are not quick to change. If you open a drawer or have a feed problem it is not easy to fix. I have used many different brands in the past and this is not my favorite by far. Seems to be technically a dinosaur for our office needs.

Great Printer But.........
The VersaLink C7000 is a great printer. However it does not duplex. For a printer at this price point, we should be able to print on both sides of the paper. The biggest draw back, and the only reason I would not recommend this printer, is the toner price. The toner cartridges are over $300 each!!! We go through a set every 6 months. That is over $2400 a year in toner. We can buy an extra monitor every month at those costs.

A great printer with finishing capabilities
We purchased this printer for the range of print sizes and for its ability to staple. The print quality is great, but make sure you have your media type selected as there is no wiggle room on media selection. The cost per print is higher than that of other printers in the same pricerange, but that is the trade-off for the wider selection of paper size and finishing.

WOW
What a difference this printer makes for our home office, compared to any HP or Brother printer. Set up was quick, and simple. We were a bit intimidated by it's size, and have found it better suited to sit on the floor than on a counter top, but our printed projects are beautiful and the full tabloid options make running a freelance graphic design business SO much easier. We are going to invest in a few other trays, at some point, but for now it's a wonderful piece of equipment!

Great printer, but the cost per print is high
We purchased this printer for our marketing department because of the good range in media sizes and the fact that it can staple. It prints great and it is a pretty fast printer, but if you are on a budget you may want to steer clear of this one. The cost per print is significantly higher than most other printers of its class.

Fair printer for quick easy simple office printouts.
This printer is fairly expensive for the quality and speed it offers. Our unit had streaks and lines printing since the first week we got it. We clean the unit per customer service instructed with a wand provided but still have the same problem. Colors are not really accurate for creative purposes. This printer is not for creative or marketing purposes. Maybe everyday office printing where color might not be as important.

Great for a small business...who also is looking to have the ability to make duplex, tabloid brochures in color
We bought this model to replace the Phaser 7660 we had used for almost a decade. It's a great replacement. The only difficulty we have had is the drivers that came with the machine and the color correction. Don't use the included drivers, go to Xerox's website and download! As for the color correction, everyone is different and so we had to play a lot to find the right color we liked when printed that matched our logo, etc. I would definitely recommend this machine.

Problems with a brand new printer.
Versalink C7025. The problem is the same color on the left and right sides of the paper are not the same. It is red on the right and orange on the left. It should be red M 100% Y 100%. It's the same with other colors, red is just an example. the printer is brand new. The service tells me that this is normal because this is an office printer. If I want the print to be good then I need to take C 60/70. For me, this is a complete disappointment from the Xerox printer and the service explanation. I tried the same file on the cheapest home printer and the print, unlike the Versalink C 7025, is excellent. I have been in the printing business for more than 20 years and I know what and what kind of printing should be on a color laser printer, especially when it is completely new.

Toshiba copier is a lot better
The Xerox sales guy told me how this was a better copier than the Toshiba we had. He lied, the color quality is in no way even close to the Toshiba. When making a color copy with the Toshiba I could not tell the original from the copy, But on the Xerox C7025 it is not even close it a poor quality copy. The Xerox is also very slow, which is a waste of my time. With the Toshiba when I would send something to the print from my computer it would be done printing by the time I walked from my desk to the printer, but the Xerox C7025 is a lot slower. When I get to the printer it like it is still a sleep and I end up standing there wasting time waiting.

After reading several reviews, one left me less than thrilled. But I went and purchased it anyways. It's fantastic. I give this the Siskel and Ebert's "Thumbs Up" award. The color and B&W quality is fine. The support is phenomenal. Easy to administer. A few quirkiness operations, but hey what printer is perfect. My only down side would be the cost of the toner for it. You will not be disappointed for investing in a Versalink printer.

I hesitantly bought this printer to replace a printer that I loved. Turns out, it's better! Color quality, print speed, features, paper types/sizes, it's all great. So far I've yet to find anything bad about it although I'm a little nervous about replacing the ink (it's expensive!) so consider that if you're looking to purchase. That's the only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars.

This product should be recalled by the manufacturer
This is a follow-up to the review that I left in Oct 20. A service guy was called after talking to tech support. The unit was still under warranty at that time so it was a free service call. The service guy came out and he was very nice but didn't have any knowledge of this particular machine. I had to show him how to remove the developer which was funny. He replaced the toner and the machine didn't work he then ordered a new developer and in a few days returned to put that in. The machine now worked. Hurray for now but not for long. In about a month the black cartridge said it needed to be ordered but the machine had only printed 883 prints total from new. The black cartridge had plenty of toner left in it. The next day I called tech support as I knew the same thing that happened with the yellow was happening with the black. The unit was now 2 days out of warranty. Tech support after a lot of conversation finally agreed to send me a new black cartridge but would not send a developer which I was sure it needed. The next day the machine turned on and said the the black toner cartridge was empty but I had not printed anything. My cyan and magenta cartridges still say that they are 70% full and the yellow was still 100% since it was replaced in oct. A few days later I got the replacement black cartridge and put it in. The machine said that the new oem cartridge that was sent to me needed to be replaced. I am sure that the same thing happened with this black developer as what happened with the yellow. It plugged or the connection between the two plugged and told the machine that it was empty. I called tech support and this time they would only send a technician at my cost which was unacceptable or I could take the heavy machine to a local service center at my cost which is also unacceptable. This machine has an ongoing problem and it needs to be repaired by the manufacturer actually it should be recalled if the company wants to still sell to corporations. This is very very very poor customer service. The machine is probably going in the trash. The cost per sheet in this machine has been $1.69 which I frankly cannot believe. This is unbelievable. Would you buy one??? Would you be happy with the durability of this??

Horrible longevity stay away from this one
This printer worked great for 11 months before failing. First got message that I needed to order a yellow cartridge. I had printed 852 pages total on the machine mostly black type. All the other cartridges showed 75% plus full. I then got the message that the cartridge was empty after I printed a couple more test pages. I replaced the cartridge and it still said the cartridge was empty and the machine was now making a loud clicking like it was trying to turn something and it was stuck. After some research I saw that the toner feed auger can get plugged with toner and cause clicking. I removed and cleaned out the old toner out of the auger and did see some chunks fall out. I replaced all the parts and turned it on again it ran without clicking and again the cartridge said it was empty. I again replaced the cartridge with another and now the unit says to order another cartridge because toner low! It now prints but will not print any yellow. I will call tech support on Monday but don't expect much we will see. A commercial printer should last more that a few months before failing. This is entirely not acceptable.

Great value
I'm a small architectural firm got tired of inkjets drying up and prints bleeding if i had to have them out in the rain. I was looking for a laser printer that could print 11x17 for a reasonable cost. the printer fits the bill. It's reliable, great quality prints, and you can't beat a laser. I've had it for about 3 years now, and use it on the light side. it's needed no outside maintenance. My one complaint is I wish I didn't have to doublecheck papersizes before printing with what's loaded in the tray (I didn't get the dual tray)- you've got to make sure you change the settings from what your default is if you switch paper in the tray.

Great Printer, Great Price!
We have a online sales business. We send out hundreds of envelops a day. We called Xerox and a sales agent guided us to the most cost effective highest envelope count printer they have, and it's been a life saver! Super fast, print quality on B&W and Color are top notch, and did I mention fast? This thing is a beast. Thanks Xerox for helping my business grow!

Good Print Quality, and Speed for the Price, but had some issues
I ended up buying this printer for a business that never really took off, so it ended up becoming mostly a personal printer, printing at a low volume. Both times a toner has gone empty, I attempted to replace with factory toner direct from Xerox, and both times the new replacement toners read at 0%. Very frustrating considering they are about $340 each. The printer was under warranty, so I initially called out a tech who explained that maybe the toner powder had clumped up.. He cleaned out the machine and gave me a new toner cyan that registered at 100%, but after 5-6 prints it went to 50% where there after it has stabilized. The second time I had to replace yellow the same thing happened. He came out again and he also mentioned some motor that advances the toner material was slipping, but there was no part number to order a new one. But it seemed to still print so we left it at that. Now most of the toner has gotten low again and I'm afraid what will happen when I go to replace them, because the unit is now out of warranty and probably not worth fixing. This has been a hassle for a machine that has less than 1k clicks total. So to recap $1300 for unit + 2 toner cartridges at $339 , I've printed 1000 sheets and now all my toner is low again. So that means an additional $1300 minimum at some point in the near future, and chances are the issue will happen again, in which case it will prob cost an additional $300 for the tech visit. BTW I am just printing normal documents, not much color or photos. I'm going back to my hp inkjet due to a much lower cost per print. It's worth noting that I have seen similar stories over and over in reviews with this particular model so probably best to avoid it or any other unit on a similar platform.

Great Value--Very Impressive
I am very impressed by the quality of this printer. The quality of printing is extremely good--art graphic quality. The speed is great. The bonus is the large sizes of paper that the printer can use along with built in duplexing. Some quirkiness for bypass tray, but any printer has its quirks. You learn how to work with it. Worth the purchase. Very impressed.

Very good printer
I use it at work to print 11x17 drawings very often. It works very well and I don't run into many problems. An occasional paper jam is the worst thing that happens, and good access to the paper feed path makes it easy to remedy.

Love the print quality but had issues with duplexing
I am a book publisher for custom, small-run books. It is extremely important that all the pages duplex correctly. When I owned a Xerox Phaser 7100, the duplexer never gave me any issues. With the Versalink C7000, I cannot trust that the pages print correctly. I have to check every single page to ensure that it did not pull through two pages at the same time, such that two pages are printed on one side and blank on the other side. When you're printing a 365-page book, this is a lot of additional work.

This printer is excellent for a small business
I own a small printing business and I purchased three HP wireless printers and I ended up with several issues with printing church programs, obituaries etc. Had I purchased this from the very beginning, I wouldn't have had to purchase the other three. I was able to cut my printing time in half and with a better quality.

Great toner life
I have changed all my printers in our office from HP to Xerox. The life of the toner is so much better along with the print quality. We use the Versa Link C7000 for printing a number of our marketing pieces and training manuals. The ease of changing the toner can't be any simpler. Xerox has changed the way we print.

The print quality is fantastic
I have had this printer for a few years now. The quality is fantastic. The cost per page is quite manageable. I have the printer on an ethernet network at my house. More often then I would like, the printer loses its connection to the network. To be fair, it is not really the printer's fault. I have typical issues with a home network which causes the IP address to change from time to time. When this happens, the printer is not able to "follow along" to the new IP address. Once I determine this is the problem, it always takes me awhile to correct it. If this printer were located in an office, where a competent person was responsible for IT support, I doubt they would mention this at all. If, however, you are using it at home, and you yourself are not super knowledgeable about networking, then you could find this a bit frustrating. Overall, though, I highly recommend this printer and would buy it again.

Great performance, but a little finicky
It is a great printer as long as you can deal with getting the setup just right. Printer properties at the computer must agree absolutely with settings on the device. That may sound reasonable. But it is a pain any time you want to set up a job that is not just printing to plain paper. Consumables are a bit expensive, so you might not want to us it for huge jobs. But the printer itself is a good workhorse, and doesn't complain about long jobs. Alignment tor double sided work is excellent, better than many previous printers I have had where this was never right. Alignment consistency for the duration of a job is also very good. This means that if you are doing work that will be precisely cut, this printer is on your side, rather than working against you. I use CorelDraw a lot, but have found it very difficult to get print settings right for printing directly to this printer. However, if I print to a pdf, then print the pdf, it works find, and I do not see loss of quality resulting from this. Annoying, but it is something I can deal with. Overall, no regrets buying this printer. In short, it is a printer that delivers great results, but whose setup is tricky.

Immensely frustrating
It is very complicated to use a custom sized paper in the by-pass tray. Very very frustrating. For example, we wanted to print on a 8 x 10 cardstock paper. ... We changed settings in the actual printer, and still won't print. It just boggles my mind how a good company could be so illogical in the internal programming of a printer... I went out of my way to put in this review. Our copier/printer is so logical that it automatically adjusts as it sees best.

Our company purchased this printer a few months back. We have had not one problem with it except once in a great while, a paper jam. Usually, the due is because of someone not filling the paper tray correctly. I love our machine and will recommend it to anyone.

A solid printer at a reasonable price
Good print quality, good speed, good paper handling. The main problem is getting the settings right. Some frustration with double sided printing the wrong way up. It would be great if the printer could take the settings entered in the print dialog, but actually these both have to entered and they have to match perfectly. Despite these shortcomings, I am happy with this printer.

a perfect partner for the XEROX C70 MFP
as an architectural office we often publish small very high quality portfolios of our work in reponses to an invitation to present our qualifications for a prospective commission. The fact that the Versalink C7000 uses the same print engine and ink makes them ideal companions, offering reducency and additional print capacity for our office.

Frustrating to use!
Purchased the C7000 because we needed a printer that would do 11 x 17 pages. This has easily been the most frustrating printer we've ever purchased! It always defaults to the wrong paper (wants to use the bypass tray instead of Tray 1) and then goes into error because its "waiting for resources". I have to change the tray setting for every page I print! I've contacted tech support 3 times and still no resolution! It does put out a good quality print when I finally get it to print.

As an architecture and design office, we have many occasions where in with tight deadlines we are required to print "in house" small published portfolios in response to Requests for Information from prospective clients and organizations. Our workhorse MFP C70 is the ususal choice for all the services it provides, and the VersaLink C7000, a perfect "back-up" for such work in the event of a problem with the C7000 and they both utilize the same consumables.

This printer can barely print. It won't connect to anything, it only accepts print requests from the app on MY phone. If you forget to tell it which paper size you want, then it just fails. Nice printer but hard to use!
This is the most expensive printer we've ever bought for our business and also the most difficult to use. We bought it specifically to print 11 x 17" pages. We only have one paper tray, loaded with 11 x 17 and the printer reverts to letter size after every use. So every time we want to print a page we have to go through settings and change paper size. I've contact tech support to see if we can change default settings but got no where with that.

Worst printer
Hello, We’ve had 4 other large printers (for years) and now have a Versalink c7000, it is by far the worst printer we’ve ever had! Wish we never got it! It was suppose to be easy and it is defiantly NOT. It has to be set up for each printing at the printer (stupid idea by the way) and it MIGHT print a page, but probably not. We spent at least 4 hrs one day getting it to print one page (and before you ask, the graphic was clean and printed several times earlier in the day (unlike your software). It finally printed the other 150 pcs we needed (after hours). Then we were going to print the outside covers and it will only print the stupid cover sheet (which it was turned off, but it prints with very job anyway.) Then we tried to print the guts of the book and now there are link problems (website inks) which we have never had before and it doesn’t make any since! It also has stopped doing any packaging/printing (which WE NEED). We are about to put it in the parking lot and set it a blaze, at least it would be fun to look at for a while. The book we are working on, is mostly a repeat, but it won’t print!. We’ve been working on this project for a couple of months, we are tired and fed up!!!!!! Our 10hour day has given us NO results, just a crappy printer! We are very aggravated that all this time and money was spent and the project is due this SATURDAY (060323)! UGH!!!! And before you ask, yes, we used different flyers and other software(s), NO LUCK PRINTING ANYTHING!! Wish we would have never bought this stupid machine!! We finally had to use a different printer!! A Evers ??

Nothing can make this printer work seamlessly
Every single time someone needs to print something in our house, we have to gear ourselves up for the occasion. Printer never connects, never responds, we can work round it sometimes by emailing the image to ourselves and then printing via the Samsung app. It's atrocious. I should never have persevered with it.
