I have had the Yamaha Rs202bl for about 2 months now. I never get tired of the sound quality, and there have been no issues thus far with it. It functions as designed.

Great product!
I purchased this to replace a Sony two channel stereo that was used for the speakers I installed throughout our house. This unit unboxed and set up easily. I appreciated the simple instructions-not necessarily for me but, for those whose expertise doesn't lie in electronics setup. The remote is also easy to use, with the buttons clearly marked.
One thing I did notice is that, after about eight hours, the unit turned off on its own, so I had to turn it back on. I'm not sure what caused that. It wasn't overheated, as the volume level wasn't very high (not quite half). Other than that one instance, this unit has worked flawlessly. I love it! #sweepstakes

R-S202 Stereo Receiver
I like the fidelity and balance of channels. It sounds better than the older Sony receiver that I replaced, even at higher volumes. I was driving 3-way Montgomery Wards speaker cabinets (each has a 15" woofer, with separate tweeter and midrange - around 1982). I also liked the ease of connecting to my phone or pc bluetooth. I am very pleased with the R-S202.

Great 2 Channel Receiver
Exactly what I was looking for; a value receiver with Bluetooth capability and strong RMS output into 8 Ohms for a decent price. I was shopping for a bookshelf system when I found this receiver and a set of Yamaha speakers that I could use in my garage without spending over $500. This system is perfect for that use and I coudn't happier.

Excellent sound at a very good price
I haven't owned a system that sounds this good since my old KLH Model 11 gave up the ghost many moons ago. I've hooked up this receiver to a used Yamaha CDC-675 and my spouse's old Technics turntable. The receiver was easy to setup and connect to all the other equipment. Its controls are well-placed and the remote is easy to operate. The unit's size is a good fit for our bookshelves. I have no complaints.

Very good receiver
Volume control had to be turned way up to get speakers playing. Once I realized how far I had to turn the knob it worked great. Maybe this is how they build them these days. Most of my other amps/receivers would power my speakers loudly at a much slighter turn of the knob. Now that I know, no problem.

Replaces my 1970's Sansui 5500
This receiver replaces my 1970's Sansui 5500. I'm pleased with the Yamaha. It is easy to use and has great sound quality. I gave it 5 stars even though it has no Phono hookup - which I knew when I bought it. To have a phonograph imput you need to get into a higher price point. I added a pre amp for 20 bucks and my old Dual 1219 (also 1970's) sounds wonderful. If you want a basic receiver for a good price, you can't go wrong with the
Yamaha R-S202.

Great Product / Great Performance / Great Price
I've had a set of desk speakers for my computer for the longest time and an old pair of Bose 301s in storage. I wanted to expand the sound in my office so I looked into this product. It offered the best features, primarily the Bluetooth compatibility; I wanted something good, but not overly high tech for its use. So I bought it, connected it, paired it to my iMac and now I've got a great expanded music system in my office that runs through the iTunes on my computer. The remote that comes with it not only adjusts volume and sound, but it also interacts with the computer to play, pause, go forward and backward through my iMac. No more desk-top speakers and the price of the amp was probably comparable to a set of high-tech ones anyway. I'm very happy with my new set-up and the sound and ease of use is great. Patting myself on the back for this idea.

Works for me.
I am not an audiophile by any means. I am happy with the product. I don't have, nor do I ever anticipate using most of the inputs. I purchased it for the blue tooth. My house has plaster walls, not drywall, which means it's tough for signals to get through, yet I can stream music on a notebook at one end of the house and hear it from my receiver via blue tooth at the other end. I couldn't be more pleased.

High Quality/Inexpensive Stereo Receiver
This Yamaha receiver was purchased to replace an older Yamaha unit that was ravaged by age, overheating and cat hair/dust(cats LOVE warm!). It really helps to enhance the sound quality of our 50" flat-screen TV thru an auxillary pair of loudspeakers, especially when I decide to leave my hearing aids out for a few hours. Quite simply: an inexpensive, clean-looking, quality-laden stereo receiver...and cats have gone on to "happier hunting grounds."

Your basic two channel receiver
Very good entry level two channel receiver. Really needs a phone input. I miss the old Yamaha variable loudness. For what you're paying, though there's little to complain about. It does a good job. I've read many complaints about the volume control. Have to turn it up to 60 to hear it. So, turn it up to 60 . It's just how they're made. It's not hurting anything.

Very nice unit
I am an old audio geek. Always owned Yamaha amplifiers, over 40 years. My faithful amp died and could not be repaired. Looking around I found some of the equipment in the "upper tier" products to be incredibly expensive. Stumbled across this receiver and thought, for under $200 what could I be buying? I must say I am pleasantly surprised. The kids have to have Bluetooth for their gear. I just needed a way to enjoy the old stuff, records, tapes and the radio. I have no issues with this product. Easy to set up and use, performs very well at all volumes. My only wish is that there was a loudness control. Back in the day, Yamaha had a variable loudness control that was fantastic. Overall, I got a great product at a reasonable price and I am listening to all that old stuff again! Rock, jazz, punk, new age and yes, classical music. Just a fantastic unit for the money.

Good affordable audiophile system
I have had this unit for a half year now. Handles CD's quite well. Only problem the volume level must be at least 50 to enjoy the quality of sound it produces. It sounds better than my previous Sony units. Plus if the sound is too high there will some distortion at higher levels. But overall it is a well built unit.

An excellent home studio amp
Purchased as a replacement amp for a home MIDI and digital audio studio, powering four 80 watts speakers (front and back pairs). Excellent sound quality with no buzz or hiss, and plenty of power for this small room. This amp saved me from replacing the speakers I like with powered ones. We'll continue to enjoy them and the amp for years to come.

First Pass Product Review
The overall sound quality is excellent and free of distortion. The only negatives that I have are: (1) The controls on the receiver face are not illuminated, making difficult to make adjustments in dark conditions. (2) The remote does not have illuminated push button keys, which forces you to memorize push button locations by feel or you have to turn the light on to see what keys to push. Very annoying.

Good Value
I had a Samsung 5-disc 5.1 system (14 years old) which died over a year ago. So I had nothing to play my cd's with in the house. A friend of mine had a pair of Kenwood KL-999X speakers(mint) in his garage and of no use to him anymore. Well he gave me the speakers and told me I would need a decent receiver to power them. Well each speaker has a impedance of 8 OHms and peak at 300 watts each. Did my research and ended up with Yamaha receiver. Sound quality is excellent. Just to let you know guys I have not even turn the volume up past half way and the room is full of quality sound. I bought a New 6-CD changer for my 200+ collection. Great to hear stereo sound again and some day the volume is going to be crank all the way up!!!

Good sound, low price
The R-S202 was a gift to get me away from a boombox system and back to true stereophonic music on a budget. I have used it for playing mp3 and flac files from my laptop, FM radio, audio cassette tapes, and LP's. I've used everything but the CD-input so far (well -- I've played flac files I downloaded off CD's to my hard-drive). The sound quality is very crisp and the R-S202 works well with my early-90's Bose AM-5 Acoustimass speaker system with cubes. 100 watts RMS per channel is probably a lot more than I need for my office, but there it is. The R-S202 uses Bluetooth input from laptops or smart phones. This is very easy to set up and the sound quality is good (surprisingly good, I think), and convenient. FM reception is good (haven't tried the AM). It has 4 other input options: CD and Lines 1, 2, and 3 (this last one is more-or-less intended for a tape deck, as it has both inputs and outputs), all via RCA plugs. But: no dedicated mini-jack input or dedicated phono-input with pre-amp. Both of these can easily be overcome. There also is no digital input (USB, etc.), so if your source hasn't got analog output or you want to bypass your laptop's weakish Digital Analog Converter, or there is a HDMI output from your TV, you would need to get an external DAC. Just saying. It will play two sets of speakers and also has a 1/4" headphone jack. You might use the "B" speaker line to play a dedicated sub-woofer or something. Speaker connections are via wires, not RCA plugs. For me, this brings a major upgrade in music quality to my office at a very nice price.

Low volumes with 8 ohm speakers
I bought this receiver to drive my outdoor Polk Atrium 7 speakers after my old Sherwood amp died. The volume on the receiver has to be maxed out for decent listening levels and at that high volume there is significant distortion. Bluetooth from my iPad is even worse. I tried using a head phone amp as a pre-amp but that did not help.

No way to beat this amplifier for the price
We use it for background music at our store. We had a lower-quality amplifier for about 6 months and the finals burned out. We can get a new one of theirs under warranty but I wandered around the web and found this unit from Yamaha for this great price. It was a no-brainer. We need our music and we don't like our systems to be intermittent. Years (okay, decades) ago, when I was doing professional sound installs for large buildings, Yamaha was by far the most reliable amplifier. Very happy to find this unit at such an affordable price. Installation of course was a breeze and the Bluetooth connection even has some smarts to it (so it's very easy to connect and very easy to digitally interrupt if you want to switch to the tuner).

Darn fine reciever
Since this receiver is all stereo and not any form of surround sound, it makes me extremely happy with the move I've made. That move is selling my old standby Yamaha 5.1 surround receiver and purchasing this beautiful, brand new, state of the art Yamaha, which is my favorite brand.
I say all of this, not to put down and surround sound fans, but I find that, in the last 5 years or so, everything had gotten so big in the cinema surround experience. I mean it's nice to have those rear and center channel speakers, however I got to thinking the other day, with my setup now, which is paired with two Boston CS 26's, it reminds me of the old days when me and my friends would go to the downtown theater, which was just a single screen, and we were perfectly happy with the sound that came from the front or behind the screen.
Also, to make my sound more full in the bass and treble department, I run my smart TV through the Yamaha, so that when I desire somewhat of a professional experience, all I have to do is flick on the Yamaha and I can pop in a movie and almost feel like I'm using a 2.0 type of sound. My setup also includes the option of running my computer through the Yamaha also, and that works great as well.
Keep up the great work Yamaha. Your the best!

Excellent amp, replaced my old JVC receiver .
Excellent receiver, though the remote is a little on the skimpy but overall an excellent
piece of equipment.

Yamaha 100W x 2 Receiver
It's a basic receiver with no extra bells and whistles other than the Bluetooth feature, but it is serving me well as a receiver to power outdoor gazebo speakers.

Don't let the smoke out...
Sounded great, easy hook up for a 2 channel amp but after using about 4 times in first 3 weeks i went and pushed power button next time and smoke came out of the back as all the display went off, never came on again. Returning

Very good product, but
I selected tuner because it has the AM band, AM reception in my hilly area is much better than FM that propagates only in a straight and unobstructed line of sight. I looked at Sony products, but none offers AM. With 8 Ohm speakers amplification is very good for the radio, little low for the tape deck that requires 70% plus setting. Despite the spec of 140W per channel the amplifier is under powered for any vinyl record player, plays low volume only at maxed out setting. This is why only 4 Stars. I was looking also at more expensive Yamaha R-N303, but with the same output specs, and I doubt this would make any difference with the record player.
