Cables met needs perfectly
Lap top had HDMI Output port. Projector had only VGA and Component (RCA type) only. I ordered the HDMI to VGA Dongle and it worked perfectly. The short cable of the dongle guards against damaging the HDMI output port on the PC and the screws on the VGA end of the dongle assured a secure connection to the projector.

These adapters work great with very little signal loss. I would have given 5 stars, but this is actually our second one of these because the first one failed after over 2yrs of use. Not sure what happened but finally tracked the connection issue back to this adapter. New adapter works great!

Turns out I didn't need it
I purchase this cable to try to link my new Dell PC to an old non-Dell monitor. It didn't do what I expected but using a Dell monitor has made the problem go away.
