We currently pay for 150mbps from Xfinity so it was great to actually be maximizing our internet. The range is also now able to spread to our entire 2-bedroom apartment.

However this modem/router combo was the best purchase I've made in a long time. I just purchased a 1600 square foot home in November and knew my old netgear modem/router wouldnt cut it. I was paying for 100mbps and was only getting 60 if I was lucky (because of how outed my old netgear was). This netgear has an awesome app you can download and the best part is I can monitor who is on my network. I have two kids in my home and its great when I can pause their internet if needed and I can monitor the speeds to make sure everyone is getting the full use out of our internet. Between the app and knowing I have two networks to use if one is being overloaded by electronics I can still get the best speeds for my electronics. Overall I would highly recommend this to any person that needs a fast and large range of wireless connectivity.

Very easy to use Netgear Geanie to change settings once initial setup is done. Make sure you have a laptop to connect directly into when first setting it up, trying to do it over WiFi is impossible (like any other router.

No doubt, we were resetting it at least 3x per week. We set this modem router up to not only save us money, but sanity. It has worked extremely well (fast, continuous service), I just wish I would have bought it sooner!

With two smart TVs streaming at same time, we have absolutely no loading that we have had in the past. We have struggled getting tv loading in the past, those struggles are over with this router. Instead of upgrading speed and paying more to internet, we were able to save money by returning modem and router back to them.

It does an excellent job in keeping me informed of what is going on with my home network, and allows me to put restictions into play on the fly, even when I am not at home. Although this is a smaller unit, it does everything the old did and does it well. My needs are pretty minimal. I do not game and only stream a movie or sporting event every so often. Rest of the time, I connect for news and reading purposes.

Somehow they try to convince you that most modem routers won't work as efficiently as there's. With some research and reading reviews from other buyers my purchase was spot on. It's also dual band and I haven't had any issues with it at all! I would definitely recommend.

The only thing I would change are the directions in the manual. I did not realize I had to call my cable company to get them to help me set it up. It might have just been me, but I did not find the directions clear on this point.

There was a step in the instructions that caused me to call for tech support but eventually I was able to figure out the problem. My husband and I love that we can have secure, wired access anywhere in our house just by plugging in the adapters. We were sceptical at first because they seemed too good to be true, but they've worked perfectly since the day we plugged them in. We couldn't be happier with them.

Before, our WiFi wasn't even distributed to our room to the point where we had to use hotspots. Now, though, with the modem router it only took 90 minutes to set up and our family of 6 can be lost in our electronic with 0 complaints and technical issues.

I pay for 150 mbps through my ISP and I am consistently getting around 180 mbps. The genie app is very useful to set the channels and edit all information about the networks. I am very happy with my purchase.

Why such a huge difference in download speed between OOKLA and Comcast Xfinity Speed Test result, I will leave to the experts.

I haven't had any dropped signals nor have I had to reboot the modem/router at all. Though I still believe Comcast doesn't provide the speeds they advertise this has been a tremendous upgrade.

Only problem ive had is the netgear genie messes with the wifi connection when ever you try to do a speed test or change some settings. Other then that the netgear genie is great too. I have been using for a little over a week now and it is matching the speeds that I am paying for with Xfinity. Got the router/modem combo to avoid monthly rental fees so it is the same price as renting after one year and then pays for itself. I got the product because it can reach high upload and download speeds and combines two pieces of hardware. This will allow it to grow and keep working as infrastructure around me improves. So far a very good buy and I am happy to have purchased the equipment.

We figured in the long run it would save us money, and it will, but it also turns out that with his device weve experienced faster connectivity (no we didn't change any of our service options, we haven't had to reboot the device, the software to make changes is super easy to use, and the thing is smaller and better looking than our old device. I am often a victim of buyer's remorse, but this is definitely not one of those times.

Before when the cable would go out, I would have to unplug the router, then the cable modem. Powercycle them one at a time, waiting several minutes for each one to boot up. Not anymore, unplug one cable, wait 30 seconds and she is up and running in less than a minute. Awesome!! Sleek design , built in stand makes this a A1 Winner !!

It started giving us trouble so I replaced it and my router with this puppy. It sends wifi out much further than our old router. Setup was super simple and fast. Needless to say, I am more than pleased with my purchase of the Netgear AC1600. From doorstep to connecting my iPhone, setup was a breeze. It was as simple as opening the box, pluging in the device & making a quick call to my ISP for activation. The dual wireless frequencies are great, which allows for multiple devices (printer, speakers, etc.) to connect wirelessly to the 2.4ghz zone and computers and phones to connect to the 5.0ghz zone, providing blazing fast net speeds! The AC1600 was recommended to me and I looked up on Amazon was able to get it for $132.00 It was $149.00 at Best Buy and Frys. It was easy to setup with the Genie and I also downloaded the app and it is great fof configuring your modem from your phone. I think it's better than the modem Cox was trying to sell me for a Monthly fee. Great to have everything I need in one device.

The support staff was also really helpful : when I received slow internet speed on my WIFI 2.5GHz channel, they helped me figure out that it was most likely a conflict with neighbors wireless frequencies and helped me change the channel which brought speed back to expected. The range of wifi is excellent and putting it at top floor in my 3 stories condo gives strong connection at 1st floor and garage. Really happy with this purchase.

Now, I moved to a new apartment without any modem or router, so I decided to get a modem and router combined. The Netgear AC1600 turns out to be better than I expected as it is super fast and very reliable. I thought this "combined" version would be slower than my initial Nighthawk router standalone, but it turns out the AC1600 is just as fast. My friend who moved to a new apartment also bought this AC1600 based on my recommendation.

My service allows up to 100mbps but I never exceeded speed over 50 mbps with my old modem and router. Now I get up to 110 mbps with the 5G channel and constantly above 50 mbps with 2G channel with just one device and no more monthly equipment rental from my isp.

The surfboard just didn't cut it for online gaming while the rest of my family watched netflix and cruised the internet. We switched to this Ac1600 and can't believe the difference in speed, performance and there is no lag. This is the Best Buy I've made in years, my wife and I are very impressed and it fits nicely behind my flat panel tv.

The 2.4Ghz no longer works on it after a little more than a year. Others on this site seem to also indicate that theirs only lasted for a little more than one year. The 2.4Ghz and 5.0Ghz both cut out during the day for months now; now the 2.4 doesn't work at all. Had Comcast at my house to rewire and check all lines and nothing was wrong with my lines but they completely rewired from outside the house anyway. Netgear just doesn't make a product the lasts very long, and while you use it the service can become intermittent some of the time. 90-day tech support and 1-year warranty is not long enough when you make a product that is poor quality.

Spent over two hours trying to figure out why I couldn’t change from admin to a new username. Nothing clear in your instructions telling me that you can’t change name. Spent way to much time googling to figure this out. Also when I pair my phone now through Netgear to my Google home mini to play music the Bluetooth signal drops out in one minute or less. That never happened when I use the Xfinity cable modem router Wi-Fi. That seems to be the only problem I have with it.

This is a great setup thst gets speeds higher than advertised. The only trick part about setup is making sure you have the 2.4ghz network and 5ghz network split correctly so one is not pulling all the bandwidth leaving the other with nothing.

Had no problems with a set up no problems with the connection called a cable company and got the connection going quickly. It is easy to connect to all devices that are on the network and haven't hardwired to some devices that I use regularly.

All my devices connected to my wifi because the ssid and password I change it like the ones I had before and I haven't done any effort to connect everything. The connection was consistent and continuous. The previous other company router needed once in a week hard reboot. I recommend C6250 with confidence.

I tried calling support, but without paying them they will not help. Apparently Support thinks its a software issue and hung up on me. 1 year warranty means all issues are software related so you need to pay money to get help. Great company you have here.

The design is sleek and pretty durable thus far. I would not say it is the most easiest to work with when transferring locations, but there are many videos online to help troubleshoot. There are a few times it would need to be rebooted and lagged, although could be due to internet provider as well. Overall gets the job done for school work.

I have spent several hours several different times with netgear tech-support. They make me go through all the same steps over and over and over again only to end up hearing.. well it could be that Cox doesn’t have the right firmware version for this particular model OR it could be defective. If that is the case you will have to see what the return policy is where you purchased it.

Netgear is one name brand I’ve come to rely on and it is yet to let me down! Like I said in the opening, owning is better than renting!! I don’t have to deal with the WiFi provider and it’s easy plug and play set up so I’m not letting anyone into the home and during these trying days that’s a safe way of thinking!

One complaint, it is not a very simple set up for WiFi ..and instructions are poor. That being said, once it was set up, I am happy to be saving $14 month on rental of cable modem and found it to have better speed than the 200 mbs/sec supplied by Comcast. Download was in neighborhood of 239-245 and upload was 14-16.. rather than the 10 supplied.

I hated hearing the kids tell me that I was glitchy every single week or either I got booted out of my own Zoom call because my, “Internet was unstable”. Fast forward to now, it’s like night and day. Everything is finally so smooth. It’s crazy to think the change of a router but not just any router NETGEAR could make me so much happier!

I planed to use the WiFi to stream internet TV rather than rent their boxes. However, this device did not provide a strong enough signal. In downstairs locations even email on my cell phone was low. Using my cell phone I measured 168 MBS at the router and 146 downstairs. So I returned it and purchased the AC 1900 version. The new measurements were 215 and 175. I am satisfied that I was able to get the capability I wanted.

There have probably been two occasions when we have needed to do a hard reset due to throttled bandwidth, and my iOS devices cannot connect to the 2.4 gHz network for some reason, but other than that, happy with the purchase!

I replaced the ISP-provided cable modem and third party router with the NetGear AC1600 WiFi Cable Modem Router (C6250. A dream come true. Instantly cured the reliable issue, and increased speed more than 20X what I had been getting. Installation/set-up was fast and painless — almost fully automatic, including the swap out of the ISP’s modem. I have used NetGear routers and switches for decades, but the AC1600 is another step up. VERY nice piece of equipment!

The actual device itself looks streamlined and doesn’t take up a lot of space which is great, though it could be a little more intuitive in terms of reset buttons/indicator lights. I work remote so it was a major headache. Purchased this WiFi modem/router combo and couldn’t be happier! I went with Netgear because of the name (brand and reliability. It is a nice design, and it didnt take long for me to set up, although better instructions in the box of how to get the admin password info would have been nice. The only design issue is that I would prefer a power on/off button, instead I have to unplug it to turn it off

Since installation we have been able to stream our TV service and my son can play his games online without lagging.

I did have to call Netgear for support since I was not able to get my printer hooked into the WiFi nor my cell phone. It was not Netgear at all. It was a simple easy fix which they helped me with. The person on the phone from Netgear was helpful and respectful and pleasant. Once I made the adjustment everything worked and it works very well. Like I said it was all me. I was frustrated to say the lease but once I called Netgear and they helped me quickly and easily I realized it was me being a dummy. I am very pleased with my new modem router from Netgear. I have always used Netgear and will continue to do so. Netgear really is a fantastic product.

The self-installation was relatively effortless. After using the iPhone application to perform basic setup allowing me to change the WiFi broadcast name and password to match my prior Xfinity router I only had one call to my ISP to wrap up the process to get on line. I’m already experiencing almost 2X my previous download speeds! I should have bought this SOONER! It’s a perfect solution and I’m no longer paying to rent a router modem every month!

Some devices seem to have trouble finding the WiFi at times which didn’t happen with the cable company’s cable modem router. I have to change to 5G on my phone settings if it’s being too slow and/or having trouble connecting.

Directions were pretty clear but there always has to be one step that doesn’t go just right or doesn’t match your device and you have to struggle with it and look it up yourself. Ultimately I got it by myself. Costumer service by phone was too long to wait.

Overall a tremendous upgrade from the hardware provided by my cable company. I would highly recommend the Netgear.

My internet speed was not what I expected at 2.4 but at 5 I get the expected speeds. There are times that the downloading light is flashing. not sure if that is the router or the internet service. I found in comparison to our previous Arris set up the easy start for this wasn’t so easy. We already had cox set up, this was supposed to be a plug and play. Downloading the nighthawk app was ok but it didn’t exactly speak directly to the router. I ended up having to call Cox. They figured out what was going on, I went back in and updated the passwords and set up the WiFi main lines and guest. The next day it seemed to work fine.

The online help wasn’t that great, and getting to the site where I can change the default password proved to be rather difficult. I was immediately prompted to download a more updated software, but for some reason it instructed me to do it, but would it let me. I even got my friend that’s more than decent with computers, help me set the modem-router up, and he was not able to get the software to update either. I don’t recommend this modem router for beginners or anyone that has doubts in setting one up. Make sure you have someone that is familiar with this kind of technology. Thank you.

The 5g band worked well but the 2.4 band dropped to 20% of cabled speed when the laptop was 20 feet away in clear sight. The signal was too weak for an extender at the same spot. The item has been returned. Three stars since their support team was helpful but a defective unit cannot be fixed on the phone.

Got this on Amazon Day and have enjoyed the luxury it provides. I never have to worry about the equipment! My only complaint, is the design. Trying to attach the cable cord is not easy, as it is a very tight fit and trying to twist it on is not easy. But that is not a big issue, the appearance of it is sleek and a LOT smaller than the Xfinity rental! I love this and would recommend NETGEAR to anyone looking for their own home equipment!

Upgrading to this Netgear modem/router combo is one of the best purchases I made this year! Wifi and internet connection is seamless. I’m very happy with this purchase!
