Pros: Louder than we expected (works well even in some of our larger classrooms) Good sound quality (not laptop speakers, but not a home stereo system either) Cons: You have to have external power, actually a plus in our case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Logitech Z200 - 3 sets defective out of 6. Returning all. Shipped quickly and delivered undamaged. When opened, 3 of the 6 sets of speakers are defective. Two have bad wiring at the back of the right speaker, they only work if you bend the wires just right. On one set the right channel is dead, both in the speakers and in the headphone out. Wiggling wires did not get any sound. For ~$30 speakers the sound is OK, not much bass but I wasn't expecting much. They are capable of reasonable volume (for ~$30 speakers) and the auxiliary input works fine. The tone control doesn't do much, so not much help if you are trying to increase the clarity of voices.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decent, but not as good as the Logitech X140 Unfortunately the Logitech X140 is being discontinued as the Z200 is a recommended replacement. The Z200 speakers are good but not as good as the X140 and both are in the same price range. The X140 sounded better with more range as is has different sized speakers. The Z200 has 4 speakers which are all the same size, hence the range is not as good . The X140 speakers also had metal grates which protected the speakers and the Z200 has no protection so the speaker can be easily damaged. The Z200 are very light which makes them feel cheap. The X140 had a nice solid feel to them.

I just have to be careful of that I don't bend the wire nose that is plugged into the back of my computer system or else I'll mess up the sound technology with a loud noise coming from the speakers. When they arrived I was surprised at how large they were compared to my older speakers. That's on me for not looking at the specs. If you have limited desk space, these may cause issue. I think the sound is just fine for my basic listening needs. They are at a good price point. Highly recommend.

Only dissapointed that I could only get speakers to work on my dell inspiron 660 windows 10 desktop by plugging the one speaker wire in to the headphone jack in the front of my hard drive tower. Could not get speakers to work by plugging them in to the Right Left speaker ports in the rear of Hard Drive ??

At around the $20 price mark, these are probably the best of that lot, and in fact better than many $50 speakers. They do sound a bit "canned", but that's to be expected at this price point. You can really crank the volume here, so if you just need to hear your laptop - these are a pretty good deal. Yes, I'd recommend them to a friend depending on their needs.

However it is incompatible with my current monitor, and my new monitor won't arrive until Friday, January 3. This means I can't do a thing with my new computer for the next 2 weeks, when I scheduled the time to set it up. Thanks a lot, HP. Had I known, I would have expedited the new monitor, or bought one in a local store instead. The computer is going back into its box until HP sees fit to ship my new monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not Upset, Just Disappointed I got these speakers based on the price. I perceived them to be a great value from a reputable company that I like, Logitech. So, given my assumptions, let's go over the good and the bad below. Good - They're stylish speakers. I like the white rings around the speaker cones. - They're easy to setup. One power cable. One 3.5m jack in the computer. Done. Bad - Those beautiful white rings on black cones are unprotected. Nothing is stopping pens, paperclips, or curious fingers from jabbing a whole right through them. - They sound muffled, like they covered by pillows. I think it an attempt to sound bassy, but it's just plain muddy and painful to listen to. No highs whatsoever. - They're larger than I thought. At this price point, I thought they'd be smaller. I have some Edifier speakers that sound better and are smaller. Overall, while I'm not angry about this purchase I am disappointed. I would avoid these speakers and look elsewhere. Perhaps go to a store where you can have a listen to them first. Maybe you like this type of sound or it just doesn't factor in for you. I would not purchase again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Use Them More Than I Thought I Would! I use a Logitech headset while using my PC, but sometimes I don't want to use my headset or I want to play music in the apartment. I didn't want to spend a lot for PC speakers because they wouldn't be used as often as my Sonos Beam which is about 10ft away in the living room. However, since getting these speakers, I often play music through my PC rather than playing music through my Sonos Beam connected to my TV because the sound quality is great and I don't have to lose my music if someone is watching TV or playing video games which both take control of the Sonos Beam and stop the music. If you're looking for speakers to sound better than a laptop or computer monitor, these will far exceed your expectations. Plus, they look pretty slick. I have my volume set to medium on the speaker dial and then I control the volume level from my PC. Even at medium volume on the speaker dial, I still don't go above 80% volume on my PC because it would be too loud for my apartment. Therefore, these are pretty good speakers in my opinion.

They replace the so-so sound coming from my laptop speakers with enough tone and volume to really hear music and interviews. Plus, the controls on the right speaker allow easy adjustment for better sound. The two speakers are large enough for full range audio and bass yet small enough to fit in limited desk space. Compared to larger, more expensive units, these are a good deal.

Only downside is size; but I'd rather have that than what I've had in the past with smaller plug-play types with brand names that could hardly give a bass sound or even be controlled to deliver some noise from a dvd or cd! These are great and easy to install and operate. Definitely recommend these to my best friend, if I had one! Ha!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for the price I bought these because my new Vizio TV has an intermittent audio issue when connected to my laptop through HDMI and the laptop itself isn't loud enough. I tried everything to solve that issue for months and nothing worked. The only thing I really need these speakers for is live sports from free streaming sites, so I wasn't trying to spend a lot, and so far these have been perfect for that. I don't know if I'd still give 5 stars if I were watching movies or something like that, but these are just fine for listening to sports announcers.

And that's more than I need in my office. Plus a bass tone nob. For the price and size. I'm impressed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Speakers are fine, Salesperson is outstanding The speakers are fine; what's outstanding is having a dedicated Dell salesperson (Sarah Lawler) reach out to let me know I had reward points expiring, and what could she find to use them up. This is the second time she's been super helpful, and previous to that another Dell salesperson resolved a gigantic problem for me during the Covid-19 lockdown. These folks are the secret to getting around the fact that the Dell website is sometimes its own worst enemy.

Now he can listen to his music and radio baseball with the sound being so much clear than his old speakers. He didn't need anything fancy and these are doing nicely so for for my husband. I only gave it 3 stars cause I thought the prices was a little high for these speakers.
