Best-in-Class Rack Enclosure for Converged IT


APC SX NetShelter rack enclosures are optimized for easy installation, managing cables, integrating power distribution, and maximizing airflow. This server rack is designed for efficiently housing multiple IT equipment types in high-efficiency, high-density situations.




More Standard Features for Faster Installation


This 42U rack enclosure includes integrated baying brackets, preinstalled leveling feet and castors, and ventilated front and rear doors. Half height side panels are included with quick and safe handling. Adjustable vertical mounting rails and a cable access roof are included.




Easily Mount PDUs and Cable Organizers


The AR3100 APC cabinet includes 2 mounting channels to support up to 4 vertical PDUs or cable organizers. Channels are pre-installed in the rear of the enclosure but can be moved to the side brace to resituate cable management where it is needed most.




Adjustable Mounting Rails


The vertical mounting rails can be adjusted in 1/4 in (6.4 mm) increments covering virtually any mounting requirement for IT equipment.




Keep Devices Secure


Lockable doors and side panels keep your mounted devices in the cabinet safe and secure. Add APC NetBotz for surveillance, environmental monitoring, alert management, and access control at the rack level (NetBotz accessories sold separately).

Split Rear Doors for Tight Spaces


Split rear doors improve access and serviceability to rear of rack mounted equipment. The split rear doors help to maximize floor space. Only 11 inches (279 mm) of clearance is required behind the enclosures to allow for door swing.

Without a doubt APC gets my endorsement hands down. They are carefully packaged and shipped so as to avoid any damage in transit. Thanks to the clear instructions, unpacking and installing is easier than an IKEA nightstand, and once in place you can count on years of faithful service. Durability is second to none and the care in design becomes obvious once the cabinet is in play as the features built in place this rack head and shoulders above all comers. No regrets.

I find the NetShelter SX 42U to be the easiest to work on and has the best suite of options available on the market. I will continue to pick these for deployments and now I understand they are being sold as Dell as their primary rack now that the Dell 4220 has been discontinued.
