Rated 5 out of 5 by from Didn't install well on iMac 27 Retina 2017 I tried installing the SSD in an iMac 27 but had to modify the mounting tray to have it fit properly. After installing, I found that the SSD worked but the computer was very slow. kernel_task runs at 245% and the fan is blowing on high. I tried all the usual fixes for this but no joy. I then replaced the original drive and reset the fusion, then, installed a fresh system but still the kernel_task and fan remain a problem. Since the mac is still open, I can put back the SSD if I ever figure out why the kernel_task is running.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product for what I needed My hard drive in my laptop was slowly dying after a hard jolt (noisy and you could hear it spin). I got this as I had bought memory from Crucial before. Used the scanner tool, and it gave me several options to choose from. I had prepared to reinstall my OS and all my files, but the cloning option was a great feature. It was easy to clone the old one to the new one. I used the bracket from my old HD. Reinstalled, and was up and running in minutes. I bought a better quality HD, so I now have a faster machine than what I had before. Very pleased with the product and how easy they made the process. I would invest in a set of proper screwdrivers. I had a junk set when I did my memory, and it made things so hard. Spend the money and just get the proper tools.

I bought this product with great anticipation for a great product and the most friendly and easiest installation as you have promised in all your online advertisements. By now I have spent 3 days to install an SSD drive replacing my mechanical hard drive and after 3 days and even calling costumer support (Case # 01254416) which was helpless unfortunately. I am in fact very close to sending the product back for refund if I am unable to configure this product to work in my computer. Guys in crucial, please be advised that we are in the 2022, this process should be brainless and it feels like I need to be an engineer to overcome a simple process of installing an SSD drive. I have done so in the past with Samsung SSD and it was so easy, it was done in no time. I am quite disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extending the life of my old laptop. This SSD worked exactly as I expected it to. I bought it a few months ago and finally had time to install it. It was fairly easy to install in my 10 year old Toshiba Satellite Laptop. The laptop screws were tiny, but I was able to reuse them and the mounting bracket. My plan was to start afresh by installing a clean version of Windows, so I had already created an installation USB drive for the task. I saw that Crucial supplies tools for cloning your previous disk, if it is still functional, which I think would be helpful, but I didn't use it.

The SSD drive is using much less voltage than the sata drive and takes up very little space in the pc case and is a lot cooler when operating. The sata drive when it was warmed up was like a little volcano in the pc case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best thing I did for an aging laptop. Broght it back to life I used the SSD to replace an old HDD on my ASUS laptop. I was about to replace the laptop since it was so slow. The install/clone procedure was so easy! I was expecting problems, but there were no problems or issues. The physical install was just as easy. I really am pleased that Windows moved over with no issues, and works normally. The new SSD is so fast! The laptop used to take about 45 seconds to boot, and was so disk-intensive that it was basically unusable for about 5 minutes. Now the laptop boots in about 10 seconds, and is ready to go once the desktop appears. This has saved me from buying a new laptop (especially with prices these days). This was by far the best decision I made regarding the laptop and would definitely do it again. If you have an aging laptop, try this before investing in a new one - it may save you as it saved me!

Install another 8gb ram and an SSD and it runs great now. If you want to breathe some life into an old laptop, this is the way...
