2017 27inch IMAC, 5k Retina 3.4gz 18.3, SSD, 8gb ram
Needed to add 16gb of memory (2x8) to existing 8gb (2x4). Placed new modules in the empty slots but the computer only recognized 12gb of ram, one new 8gb and one old 4gb. This was the case even after 2 start ups. So I placed the new 8gb ram modules in the original 4gb slots and moved the older ram modules to the previous open slots. This set up worked and 24gb was recognized. Very happy with this upgrade.
