First 1 fried 3 motherboards and the 2nd one is great.
I cannot tell which purchase you are referring to as I have placed many orders for this dock. However, I have been seeded a WD19DCS as well as a replacement for the original WD19DCS. The first dock caused 2 months of problems with ALL of my equipment. After eliminating all of the other problems it could be my team determined that this dock was causing all the problems. Once it was replaced, the dock has performed well. So 2 stars for the dock and 1 star for the Dell Support team.

not a great experience
I updated Bios, Updated latop, updated drivers for docking station - and it will not connect to my periperhals - I am having to work with my company IT person to resolve, and its still open. I have a Precision 5560 so i was kind of expecting the connection to be seamless after investing in the fully compatible docking station

Not very good Docking Station
Ordered new Docking Station . But I''m pretty sure that the unit that I received was not new. The return address on the shipping label was from "Dell Returns" in Lebanon TN. The unit was not packed and bagged like a new unit. It looked like a return. It seems to work. I purchased this unit to replace 8 month old docking station that never worked quite right. The original dock ran its cooling fan on high speed, most of the time. Even when the computer was idle. The fan was very loud.

Would be great, if it worked!
Will not recognize or connect reliably to external monitor! Will work for a few days, then stops. Try unplugging the HDMI, Thunderbolts, even restart and power cycle the PC and docking station. Using a Precision 7760 workstation. Spent hours with tech support and they have no idea how to resolve the issue. Verified f/w, drivers, etc. This is clearly not a production-ready accessory. Sending it back and sticking with my Pluggable and separate power cord. Sigh.

Geared to be used with Dell PC hardware, awkward to use with other vendors
Obtained this for use as a universal style dock with multiple vendors and OS. Works fine as a standard USB-C dock when a single connection is made.
Dock is built primarily to use both USB-C connectors to a Dell system with the cables attached via the integrated magnet. Connecting both USB-C connections is awkward and sometimes resulted in errors on non-Dell systems.
Other systems with different spacing may have difficulty connecting both cables simultaneously, to say nothing of if the dock or power delivery functions as normal once both are connected.
Dock itself seems solidly made, plenty of cable length between the power adapter and the dock, which was nice, and a good cable length for the USB-C cables. A maximum of 240W of power delivery (using both USB-C connectors) is also a great feature, but only if the USB-C connections are utilized correctly by the target system.
TL;DR: If you have a Dell system that can use the huge power delivery and dock feature set, it seems like a solid dock. If you're going to share this dock, or use primarily with other makes and models of laptop, it may not meet your expectations.

Buggy and unreliable
This dock has issues. I have have had it for just over 2 weeks now and here are the problems I have encountered so far:
- It can't drive a monitor with a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, attempting this configuration causes the monitor to be detected by windows but nothing will display on it.
- If you have multiple displays when unlocking the machine one of the displays will occasionally drop to 640x480 resolution. It seems the only way to correct that is to disconnect the display from the dock and reconnect it. Note that once it did not correct the problem so I disconnected the dock from the laptop. When I reconnected it blacked out all the displays for a few seconds and then bluescreened the computer.
- The dual USB-C connectors protrude a ways from the side of the machine and it is easy to accidentally hit the plug or the cord which can knock then out of position and cause one of them to become disconnected.
- If I put the machine to sleep and disconnect it from the dock when I reconnect its as if the machine woke up while disconnected because all of the windows have been dumped to a single display. This is a minor annoyance and it only takes a minute or so to put everything back to where it was but if you spend a minute doing this every day it still adds up to a few hours per year.

Excellent solution for a niche audience.
If you have a USB-C powered computer that needs more than 90w, has ports that aren't either too close or far apart, you have few USB item needs, and your computer can use DisplayPort over USB-C, then this dock might be just the ticket.
For machines that don't meet those criteria, I'd suggest a different Dell dock:
1. Most business class machines don't currently require, and can't handle, two USB-C power connections. Giving too much power to your USB will cause Windows to turn off your USB ports until you unplug one lead and reset them.
2. Machines that can use both cannot have ports that are too close or too far apart, or the leads will either not fit together, or just not reach (if the ports are on opposite corners of the device, for example. My machine's USB-C ports were a short distance from one another, and the magnetic clasp on the leads caused them to pull together and stress the connection.
3. The dock neither supports DisplayLink nor acts as a basic USB hub when testing with a machine that doesn't support DisplayPort over USB-C. There doesn't appear to be an alternate connection method for either video or USB.
4. The number of USB ports (A or C) is a little slim. This isn't the dock I'd recommend for a user with a mouse, keyboard, phone charger, headset, and camera.

Not another dock!
No headset port and occupies BOTH USB-C ports. Really disappointed I couldn't plug my speakers into the dock without yet another dongle/adapter.
Don't why Dell keeps requiring newer docks for their laptops. Ending up with a lot of docks that are only a couple years old, but no longer work with newer laptops.

We have had at least one of these docks for 4+ months and have had no issues. So far these docks are working as they should. Had to take away 1 star for the price and only having 1 docking option for the precision 7760 though. On the older laptops 7710, that used the older style of docks - you could use a multitude of different machines on the same dock.

Great product for displaying my laptop on multiple monitors
My work desk has multiple monitors and it’s almost a necessity for me to have these days. However, I do a lot of work from home and having to work from one laptop screen is painful. With this, I can now easily display my computer laptop on monitors. I highly recommend this product. It’s straightforward and easy to use. Just make sure that you have an appropriate monitor!

Failure under load
Bought 10 to go with new computers for a refresh for a few users, All of them have varying levels of the same problem. Any kind of load on the attached computer first starts to make any monitors attached to the dock get snowy/fuzzy, until finally under a high enough load the monitors blackout or cycle the connection back to the computer. There is three of them that wont show anything on the display at all when a computer is connected. USB functionality still works but displays are a no go.
and the worst part is I ordered these thinking they were thunderbolt (it was a miscommunication with our rep, not 100% his fault. so if your looking for a dock that has thunderbolt or works at all, do not buy this.

Dell Performance Dock + Precision Laptop
Normally, it works fairly well, but occasionally it fails to properly connect to my Dell Precision laptop with the dual USB-C power cables and I get a low-power supply error boot-up. Re-connecting the power cables and rebooting my laptop usually resolve the issue.

Best home office set-up.
I have been using a laptop for work for the past year. I am now able to connect my work laptop to the monitors at home using this Dell performance dock. I really like that this docking station also works as a charger. I am not tech savi but I was able to easily connect the laptop, monitors and printer to the docking station. I will also be taking a virtual class next month an this setup will be extremely convenient. This has been a great time saver for my home office. Just connect my laptop to the docking station and start working, no need to reconfigure or disconnect anything but my laptop. It has plenty of ports that are high speed connection all my devises. Can't believe I was able to get by without this type of setup.

I'm not the most tech-savvy individual. But my work allows me to work from home from time to time. This docking station is very minimalistic, taking up a small amount of space, which I like. I have also not had any problems with lagging or any other glitches. It has worked great. The only potential downside I can see is that I have not figured out a way/do not believe this particular dock supports a 3-monitor setup. It does, however, support a two monitor setup, which is sufficient. Overall, I'd give this docking station a 9.5/10.

Dell's docks are the best USB C docks we've found. They include the right number and type of ports for our work (A/E BIM+CAD workstations, and they the most reliable. I wish we could still have the old-school port replicators, but understand the business reasons why Dell moved away from them..

Great Product!
The Dell Performance Dock is an office space lifesaver!! It works perfectly, it has helped my computing performance greatly. But what I love the most is that the dock has made my home office more organized and productive!!! I have my laptop, my dual monitors, keyboard/mouse, Tablet/ Ipad, smartphone, and even my AirPods all connected on the Dock and it has made my space work more efficiently! I highly recommend the Dell Performance Dock!

Perfect way to hide (almost) all cables away
This is a perfect way to get rid of all cables from my table. The dock station allowed me to have my power, ethernet and two monitors hooked up to the laptop by just the USB-C cables. That's reduction 50% reduction. Now add to it the additional USB and USB-C cable I have to charge my phone and it's pretty sweet deal.

Sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn't
Purchased these on the recommendation of the sales associate when I bought my XPS Laptop 9700. Followed all the instructions, plugged them in, and recognized the laptop, but not the external SanDisk hard drive. Tried another port, nothing. Rebooted and voila. Next day, same scenario all over again, only had to reinstall everything to get it to work. Then one cable lit up, then two cables lit up, then back to one cable, and no external hard drive recognition, yet again. Sent it back (followed by the laptop and replaced with desktop, which I love, for my multimedia business. Maybe I just got a lemon, but didn't work for me.

Powerfull Dock
The Dell Performance Dock is great to use if you want to limit how many wires you need to plug in and out of your laptop each time you remove it from your desk. So you can have your big screen, printer, internet cable etc. all connected to your docs, then just one wire connecting the dock to your laptop, making it super easy to take your laptop with you.
As the docs is so powerful, it comes with it's own fan, so it does make a bit of noise - not much.

The USB C cables are thick, heavy and stiff, you have to position everything just right to avoid putting a lot of strain on the laptop's tiny USB C port. No integrated 3.5mm audio connectors. Cost more than my laptop. Does work well though.

Functional & gets the job done - but definitely room for improvment
Works & gets the job done, just not as efficiently as it should for the price. All our users have dell monitors & dell Precision laptops and often have peripheral issues when using the dock. Devices are fully up to date with dell driver updates including docking solution drivers. Wish it would be more of a seamless connection. Also wish the 3.5mm headphone jack could be added back. They originally were on the docks then removed.

Great docks, but maybe something changed recently to cause more failures.
Overall these docks are super powerful, handle anything you throw at them, specifically designed for the Precision Mobile Workstations with the dual USB-C. However, recently I have had multiple fan failure issues, I have a client with at least 15 of these docks and have had 4 failures within the last month, initially last year we had three failures, and I chalked that up to third-party purchasing from Amazon, but the majority owned now are purchased directly from Dell. I'm not sure if I just had a bad batch or something changed internally when the supply chain issues started happening, but they are not as reliable as they used to be. Don't get me wrong, they are still the only dock I will recommend to my client because of the dual USB-C power delivery for the full 240W these PMW's need, but I wanted to make people and definitely Dell aware of the potential issue. Still again the only dock I will recommend and Dell has promptly replaced them all without much pushback everytime I contact their support and that is why I normally recommend Dell for my clients.

This Dell WD19DCS Performance Docking Station has made my life easier and less complicated. Setup was simple and straightforward. Connecting 2 monitors to my laptop was a breeze. Lots of ports and uses with this docking station. It charges my cell phone super-fast. So convenient not to have to unplug all the wires when transporting my laptop. Highly recommend it.

Flexible and capable dock
This dock is easy to setup and the long docking cable give me lots of flexibility on where to place it. I like all the monitor connections on the back but I wish it had more USB ports as well. Occasionally the laptop will say it's not getting enough power from the dock but a quick power cycle of the dock resolves the issue. Overall very happy with it.

I work from home and this was a great addition to my home computer setup. I liked that I was able to connect more devices and actually increase my productivity. This is a great, easy to understand docking station. I’m using it with a latitude 5400 laptop.
This has a port for pretty much anything you need. The charge times are great, and I’ve never had an issue with data transfers.
It has extra USB and video ports. I have multiple monitors plugged in, and it works flawlessly. Set up was easy.
My old docking station was super slow, and became obsolete. These docking stations have come along way. Make sure you update your drivers as needed. I highly recommend it!

These docks are garbage. I have a staff of 33, and 18 of them have had replacements, and the remainder all get a warning that their dock fan isn't working on startup. Several cause blue screens of death, and as soon as you replace an HDMI cable, it is fine for a week, then blue screens again. Dell seriously needs to revamp these. The theory of them is absolutely wonderful, we love how compact they are and easy to use comparative to the older ones where you had to connect the bottoms. PLEASE FIX THESE, DELL!!

This thing is great as long as it's working. That being said, it doesn't always work. Sometimes after a reboot you must disconnect the power and the USB-C and hold the power button for 30 seconds to reset it, but then it works like a charm. They are also quite pricey for what you get.

Just installed today and works flawlessly.
Using with: Dell Inspiron 15 Laptop, Bose Speakers, Dual 24" Monitors IPS FHD, BT Keyboard, BT Mouse.
Everything works beautifully. Had to set my dual monitors in Settings...Display... Multiple Displays to Extend.
All Bluetooth and plug-in accessories work flawlessly.
Nice thing is laptop can remain stored with cover shut while this system is working. Tremendous improvement to productivity.
There is an issue many people will run into, regarding messages of insufficient power, or the dock not working properly. The setting to fix this is in the advanced power plan settings named:
PCI Express
Change this from "Maximum power savings" to "Off". This should resolve any weird dock issues. Dell still isn't perfect, but at least this fix works.

Clean desk!
I bought this to try and help out with cable management. I work from home and like to move around from my desk, but it was always so annoying having to unplug 4 things before moving my laptop. This dock has made cable management so much easier and moving to and from my desk a breeze. It really makes working from home better.

These docks work well. My only complaint is I have to power cycle the dock every other day.
I'll plug in my new Latitude 5520 and it won't work correctly. Pulling power from the dock resolves this issue. Dock and laptop are fully up to date on firmware. Once the dock is up and working, there are no issues.
Works great with 3 monitors (2 external and laptop screen). No issues with usb connected devices. USB C port in the front is a nice bonus for charging devices.

Upgrading computers for our office - 1 of the 3 computers was defective out of the box and told it would be 10 business days to replace but its more like 25 business days. I understand all things logistically are stressed but this is not what we expected from dell.

I got this for my laptop for when I have to input all my paperwork on the computer, this is nice because you can have the full size keyboard and mouse and external hard and also connect two monitors to the docking station and just plug the docking station in when you need to use it and unplug it when you need to take your laptop with you, it also great to connect a large TV threw hdmi to watch videos and show pictures

The amount of ports for accessories/charging options, with different port types, is really helpful. Having split usb-c cords for laptop power/connectivity to the docking station is handy for that extra device which may need to interface with th e docking station.

I have been looking for a docking station since i have been switch over to WFH setup. I have a dell laptop which has USB-C charging and i wanted to buy the docking station which offers USB-C charging and dock with the same plug. Dell WD19DCS has amazing features.
The dock has ports for everything including multiple High speed USB, DisplayPort, and HDMI. 3 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A Ports can supports phone charging, a Bluetooth keyboard and Bluetooth mouse. It has 2 USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C Ports which can support your smartwatch Bluetooth charging and still leave one spare for any other purpose. It has 2 HDMI DisplayPort Inputs which can support 2 additional monitors. One of the most important feature for me is that it has a power switch right on the dock which make there’s no need to open the laptop and it prevents that frustrating scenario where your computer doesn’t know if you want it on or off.

With the advent of remote working here to stay, I setup a 3-monitor home office which required a docking station. I got this Dell performance docking station which has USB-C docking interface along with HDMI and DP. It is sleek and compact and hence does not utilize much space. It can support 5120x2880-60Hz resolution. It also has a security lock slot but the lock does not come with it. Overall it provides 10 interface options out of this docking station which makes it super versatile and a must have for anyone building a home office or gaming system.

Even when plug into the thunderbolt port on XPS 13 7390, it cannot drive 2 4K monitors at 4K resolution. It can only drive 4K at 30Hz and another 2k. This is far below its advertised spec.

Major come down from previous Dell docking stations
A bad design, overpriced, and a major come down from the Aetna E-Port Plus model it is replacing, E-Port connected directly to the laptop sans wires and used a single power supply for both. Not so the WD19DCS. Worse, the docking station had major installation problems in no small part because Dell neither set up my new laptop (ordered simultaneously) with the proper firmware nor supplied any specific information on what drivers were required. Six hours on the phone with Dell support to get it working, but an error message still appears every time I boot up. Dell is sending me a new one. It also contains an inadequate number of USB ports, forcing me to buy a USB hub, and because of my setup, I will have to purchase a second power supply for the laptop for away use.

I go this as I have multiple screens I wanted to work from. This dock is extremely easy to set up. Provides the right power for my Dell laptop and has multiple ports to add my keyboard, mouse, etc. I love this docking station because it is small and doesn’t take a bunch of room on my desk. Avoid. Do your homework and get a non-Dell that will work with your Dell laptop.
Unfortunately the only Dell dock for my machine. Cannot start or restart while docked. Must start/restart undocked and then connect to dock. Now only one of two Thunderbolt connectors is illuminated, although I don't experience anything negative except a battery warning that still doesn't seem to be a problem. Docking stations have been simplified to the point of adding problems.

The WD19DCS dock has worked well so far. I haven't experienced any issues that some other reviewers have indicated. My only complaint is the size of the dock. It's quite large and makes the monitor I have it mounted to sag a bit on the side with the dock. Also, the double USB-C cable to connect to the laptop is a bit rigid and short. I would have preferred a somewhat longer cable or even a modular cable.

These new docking stations with the dual connection are horrible. Constant issues with monitors not showing up forcing reboots or powering everything completely off and bringing stuff back up. Laptops with the single connection seem better but those don't work with my laptop.

I got this dock station because I have a laptop for work but I prefer working off of actual monitors. All the cables I needed to hook up 2 monitors were included, so no last minute run to the store in order to get a xyz cable. I was able to get everything setup and working without any tech support or Google searches. Definitely a simple solution to make my work easier.

These things are amazing. You plug one end into a 110V outlet and the other end into your laptop and boom, it charges the battery or provides all day power! Besides the power, you can also plug in multiple monitors using 2 DisplayPorts, an HDMI and/or a USB-C DP. I mean, what else could you need! But wait, there's more!!! Just when you think you have everything you could need connected, you have 3 more USB-A 3.1 ports, a USB-C port and of course the always popular Gigabit Ethernet port. I mean come on, why haven't you ordered one for yourself already?

I really miss the old docks where you could just pop your laptop on and off without touching any wires.
If Dell was attempting to save desktop space with this new design, it didn't work. This dock takes up just as much or more as my old one, because the power cable that connects to my laptop comes out of the side of the dock and goes into the side of my laptop. In addition, the connector is quite bulky making the wires somewhat inflexible. Finally, there is no audio jack, so I have to connect that directly to my laptop as well.
While it serves its purpose, it doesn't do it as well as the older style docking stations.

I have used multiple computer docks in the past and this is the only one I have ever recommended to others. The fact that it recharges my computer while I use it makes a huge difference in the number of cords I have falling out of my computer desk, and the number of ports are incredibly convenient. I use it with my laptop and two external monitors, and it is a seamless work experience every single time. I love this dock!

Dell Performance Dock Drives Dual Ultrawide Displays
We first tried using an "off the shelf" 4K compatible docking station to drive two ultrawide (3,440 x1,440 and found out that the "other" system only had enough graphics performance to drive one ultrawide monitor. We then tried the WD19DC - Dell Performance Dock station and found it has more than enough performance to support the dual ultrawide system for a remote docking station application.

This Dell Performance Dock WD19DCS has everything you need and more. It has multiple USB Type A and Type C ports and display inputs. Setup and connection was straightforward although I did have to do some updates and rebooting. I was able to quickly connect my monitor, keyboard, and other accessories. I have not experienced any lagging or diminished performance in the weeks that I have been using this dock. I would recommend!

Make sure the Docking is truly for your Machine
In my opinion if a Docking station is not rated to plug in and provide the amount of power it needs then it is not compatible with a laptop. A laptop that needs to be plugged in because the docking station does not provide enough power renders the docking station better than 50% useless. I'm positive that it's a good dock for the correct machine. I warn anyone purchasing this unit to make sure that your laptop is truly compatible. My issue I think is more with the representative I worked with than the docking station itself.

A major setback from previous Dell docking stations that once allowed the laptop to snap onto the station and powered the laptop. The station was a problem to install and required hours on the phone with Dell. It has had to be replaced. It is nothing more than a glorified hub, not a true docking station.

Dell performance Dock increased my work performance and efficiency
Don’t know how I went this long with out a Dell performance dock station! Set up was easy and no problems connecting my laptop to a monitor. Had to update driver just added tag# and download. Now I can do more work from my home office. I also can charge my phone on the USB port and will be buying another monitor for more charts and graphics. It is a home for all my electronics in one spot. I highly recommend for those who need high performance,multiple monitors and quick charge

my wife uses it in the office i havnt heard any complaints as it it helps perform better speeds processes faster through the desktop she uses and its easy to set up as they have detailed instructions on how to connect it happy wife happy life

Good product!
I never used docking station before so I wanted to give a try. And I like it a lot. It is sleek and doesn’t use a lot of space. It good if you have office at home like me or gaming system. I use it on my laptop and monitors and it made my life much easier. I’m very glad I ended up getting this dock .

This product works amazing it is exactly what I was hoping for. I can use it to mirror my computer to my TV or an monitor which really helps because my computer screen is so small. Definitely worth it!!

Great setup for dual monitor
This includes 2 display ports, great for plugging in two Dell monitors, and also supports a third via HDMI. It also has a future read design that allows you to swap out the main module in case you need to change it out later. The USB-C cables that plug into the computer have a magnetic component that keeps them together for a sleeker look.
Only downside I can think of is that there are no thunderbolt ports on the dock, so it's not the ideal setup for a Mac setup, or for Mac monitors.

This is a poorly designed product, I’ve had to replace the majority of these units I’ve purchased. If you purchase this item be sure to get as long a warranty as possible because you will have issues

Works great! One connection to my laptop is all it takes!
Works great! Allows me to connect all my gear to my laptop and quick disconnect when I'm on the go. I have 3 displays, network connection, wireless keyboard, USB camera. I just wish it had more USB connections.

Not Powerful to Support connections in every port
Does not support two HDMI connections. Putting a converter to use the Display Port does not work. The power does not support the laptop and two monitors. My laptop was not charging.
