Never enough storage? When in doubt, go bigger…
Although in retrospect, it unit was not actually needed - the device functions as intended. The Dell installation of the unit was handled in a professional manner.

Dell M.2 NVMe vs PNY
It replaced 2 PNY M.2 NVMe 2 TB SSD hard drive that I bought at the Dell Website. One tech told me they trust the more expensive Dell SSD than the PNY. If that is the case, why sell the PNYs at the Dell online store?

This solution save me time and money
This solution save me time and money because I can switch out my hard drive for a larger hard drive (on my laptop) and keep my same computer. This option was not available when I bought my computer at the begining of the pandemic, but is now. I learned about it from tech support staff. This is a great option for me.

Part is good, sales team is poor!
After chatting with Dell's sale team, we ordered this SSD to expand our workstation's storage. However, later we found out the motherboard on the workstation has no slot for the additional SSD and there is no instructions on the website what additional parts/adapters are needed to install the SSD. Also, the sales team support is very poor. I've been waiting for almost a week to hear back.

Dell M.2 PCIe NVMe Gen 3x4 Class 40 2280 Solid State Drive - 2TB
Easy to install. Started right up after initialization. Provided the extra capacity required for Windows 11 Pro and my Adobe and related programs, such as Photoshop and Acrobat. I replaced a 256 SS drive, which had bad sectors, but was always running at near full capacity. The only negative comment I have is with the factory 256, which only lasted a couple of months after the three year warranty expired.

Installation
I believe the SSD should be minimally spaced from the mother board, but no spacer was included or found on the mother board. I found a tiny fiber washer that did the trick. Very, very pleased with performance improvement. Do it.

Great Drives, but Get an Expert to Install them for You
These drives are great. I got 2x2TB SSD drives. I went total Dell with parts and installation. I asked Dell to send a tech to install the drives for me. They sent a tech out a week later to my house. The tech got them installed, but had issues getting my Dell Precision 7740 to recognize both of them. He had to call for help from his end.
I would recommend getting an expert like someone from Dell to install them for you. It saved me frustration. I don't know how to setup the BIOS. He kept swapping the drives into different bays. It recognized one drive but not both. It's a tricky deal.
Once it was all good, I moved 59GB from C:\ to one of the new SSDs. It transferred them at lightning pace - around 3500MB/s in about 25 minutes. I have my C:\ for Windows and applications, then one new SSD for files, then another new SSD as a disk to save backups by using third party backup software.
I had researched other SSDs from other companies then looked at Dell user forums. The users stated Dell would not help them with issues if the drive was a third party brand.
I didn't want any hassles so I went total Dell.
It was expensive, but it gave me peace of mind.
