The single port GPI-115 Power over Ethernet (PoE) injector offers a compact and cost-effective, fully IEEE 802.3af-compliant solution for FortiAP wireless access point family and other 802.3af-compliant devices. It delivers single-port, mid-span, with 15.4 watts of Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) PoE, giving you maximum deployment flexibility.
The GPI-115 mid-span injector works with legacy network devices and thus eliminates the need to forklift upgrade installed switches. Moreover the GPI-115 operates in high availability configuration by connecting to an existing Ethernet switch Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) or alternatively to its own dedicated UPS.
The GPI-115 PoE injector makes installing FortiAP access points easy and economical. It allows you to place the FortiAP access point at its optimal location by eliminating the need for an AC power outlet in a ceiling or wall. The GPI-115 injects 48 V DC power directly into the same GbE cable that carries the Ethernet traffic, avoiding installation of additional cabling.
The GPI-115 utilizes an intelligent design to automatically supply power to only those devices that can accept 802.3af power over the Ethernet connection. It ensures that non-802.3af units such as legacy NICs can continue to operate.
