The video quality is terrible.
The video quality is terrible. You can’t read a license plate or signs that are very close. Defeats the purpose.

Works well
6 months or so back I installed the Cam 47 in my Acura. No issues with the install, or use/performance of Cam 47.

Features don’t work
I bought this few weeks ago, and none of the advertised features were working, upon reaching out, received no proper instructions or response or Guidence. Needing a subscription perhaps however advertised as free service in US.

Another great Garmin product
I have used Garmin products for years I have several gps units so I decided to try their dash cam. I couldn’t be happier, it’s easy to install simple to operate and it interfaces with my iPhone seamlessly. I was most impressed with the quality of the video. At this price and given the crazy world we live in there should be a dash cam in every vehicle

It's a really nice device. One complaint, If an incident happens you press a button and it saves 15 seconds before and after. I would think it would be more like minutes or 5 minutes before and after. So you have 15 second after a crash to get your wits about you to press that button. If it's not saved all is not lost as you can still download the unsaved video if it hasn't been overwritten like the Alaska Airlines voice recorder that this just happened to.

Great little camera
I wanted something for my new truck. The wife and kid have an another brand name camera- junk. I know it’s hit or miss when it comes to technology, but so far it’s been good. The driver awareness software is kinda a pain. Need to figure out how to turn it off

Sweet Dash Cam
I bought this a few weeks ago and installed in my Toyota pick up and really enjoy all the features this camera has. It is jam packed with features such as Traffic Moving, Lane change Driving too closely etc.

Works for me
After a couple of near misses with folks cutting in front of me to get to their turn lane, decided it was time to get a dash cam. I was pleased to see that the G-47 also had driver assistance features (lane control, traffic leaving, etc.) that my truck doesn't have and alarms are just the right volume level to provide an alert, not a noisy racket. I think the videos are fine for my needs and the presence of a camera provides a bit of deterrence for would be thieves. I love the magnetic mounting feature. Makes it easy to transfer to my other vehicle. I would be nice if the OBD connecting device was priced more reasonably - adding one for each vehicle gets pricey.

Impressive
Overall, I’m happy with the purchase of this unit. The only negative I have is not being able to get the unit to pair with Bluetooth. I have done everything I know to do, and it doesn’t pair up.

Nothing but problems.
When it is powered up the shows Garmin and stays there. It does not start recording. Cannot install ver 2.60 software. Garmin express says that the new software is installed, but even after following instructions (unplugging and restarting) pressing ok when the update prompt shows up. Tried MANY times even after factory reset. After 3 hours of frustration, I will be returning unit.

I bought tis to replace a Dash Cam 20 that I have BECAUSE GARMIN has removed/restricted some of the 20 features, since they stopped making the 20..
1.. the screen is so SMALL a person can hardly see anything' ..
2.. the features icons on the Front is very hard to distinguish ..
Garmin should have KEPT the Cam 20, and upgrade the software..

Great little camera
I like the fact that I don't have to delete or reset the SD card; it scans over itself if I don't save any photos or videos. The camera fits perfectly behind the rear view mirror and does not obstruct any views and the cord fits around the window. I also like that I can watch a live view on my cellphone if I need to.

Great little camera with enough settings to personalize it for my needs. I'm an "older" driver and I need the credibility this offers as backup in the event of an accident.

I bought two of these, I have not been able to review recordings, tried bluetooth/wifi does not work. when starting car it does not show it has stated recording. After driving I took the memory card out and tried to read it on my PC. could not see any video. Inadequate instructions.

Simple to use
This is the 4th dashcam I have purchased from Garmin. And I must say I am very pleased with the units. I have one in my work truck, my pickup truck, and both my wife's and daughters cars. They work great, and I will never understand why some people bad mouth these dashcam's. They connect to the phones as promised(Android and Apple) without issues, If I have any issues, the support staff is on point. Garmin will have my business for a very long time.
