I have purchased two black ink cartridges for my H-P Printer and have been gravely disappointed with the output of both. The "high yield" cartridge is promoted as if it can produce 1000 pages of output but I received less than 50 before the machine showed an "empty" cartridge. I'd like to return the cartridge for a replacement, but I don't have any reason to expect a different result.

The HP 63 XL high-yield black ink is a superior ink and prints high quality documents as well as graphs and photos. The high yield really does print more by at least about 20%, maybe more by my estimation, (without actually doing a count). I am happy with this purchase and would purchase again and likely will.

I thought having my single printer registered via the app might help ensure I was ordering the correct type of ink cartridge but no. After the first few days with my new printer, I needed more black ink and ordered new cartridges off the app BUT they were not compatible so I had to re-order the correct one and wait another week.

Ridiculously slow ink delivery
I ordered on 12/1. It’s 12/13 and there is no estimate from fed ex. You would think if you order the most expensive ink from the manufacturer they might try to spend a little money on delivery. From Texas to the Bay Area in California? Plus, it’s finals time and I haven’t been able to print anything. Note: trying to print in color doesn’t work even though only the black is low. Also you would think with all this technology they could let you know when you are getting low. The picture shows like a quarter tank.
Finally, after all this I notice that to ‘save’ 50%, I should pay $12/month?!? I bought ink 10 months ago, and just paid $45 for a high capacity ink cartridge. So $120 for 10 months of ink is actually 3x as much as ordering it from them directly. I guess if they want to charge me to get the ink in time since their app doesn’t give you a chance to plan ahead for their ridiculously slow shipping choices, it might be worth it. Someone on the leadership team is making this far too complicated.

The easiest way to get the mundane done. The one in the printer runs out I put in my spare and order a new spare . A few days later a new spare shows up at my door. A couple of minutes out of my life, The alternative call or go to stores to find out they are OUT OF STOCK .Or my other time waster go on line to search for the fun surprises -Wrong product sent ,A refill sent as new , it never shows up and endless calls to get the charges removed or another product shipped . Cartridge replacement
When replacing the cartridge you have to shut the printer down completely & re-start the program as it indicates it’s a generic cartridge and is not compatible with the machine. I bought one from Walmart & HP and they both indicated the same thing

NOT an XL cartridge.
I am very disappointed with the XL part of this cartridge. I printed out less than 250 pages in draft mode and got a “low ink” warning. I purchased these cartridges from HP direct after having bought some on Amazon with the low output problem. I thought by paying a bit more I would get authentic HP cartridges which used to last, easily, twice as long. I have had HP printers since the 1980s but it seems taking a digital file to Staples for printing is the way to go…or buying an Epson or Canon printer.

HP Ink Never Lasts Long
Printer wants to align each time it is turned on. However, alignment is perfect and has been since aligning immediately after cartridge was replace. Printer doesn't have an option to say 'no' to realigning just 'yes' or 'later'. This is a good way to use excess ink and waste money on cartridges. Is this by design HP?

High yield is just that

I was a first time buyer of new ink for my printer but could not find the printer mentioned on your web site as to how to open it to place it in. I have a brand new 3830. Finally found something that came apart so I could get in there but space was small and hands athreptic so got it in caddywampus and had to wait two weeks for son-in-law to come to my rescue so was without printer a long time. would I recommend to a friend. Not the printer! Ink seems fine.

The cartridge doesn't seem to last long even with very little printing. Also, It took approximately 3-4 weeks to get the cartridge that I ordered. That is unacceptable. I am forced to get this cartridge from a local store

I stick with HP products, they never let me down.
I always order my 63XL black and color cartridges directly from HP. I tried another seller once because it was cheaper I thought. But they were refurbished HP cartridges and they did not last as long as promised, so it was more expensive and once they didn't even work when I installed them. So back to the HP online store to never experiment with others again. I also always order the high yield XL cartridges because they definitely last longer. I have also an HP printer and computer. HP is my brand because of the high quality and the online store is so convenient and if you sign up for an account you get discounts, too. I am a loyal and satisfied customer.

Black ink cartridge didn’t work
This black ink cartridge did not work. I tried troubleshooting but the printer did not recognize the black ink cartridge. Called technical support and they are sending me another cartridge. I am now waiting 2 weeks without being able to use the printer.

I resent the fact that the update on my HP printer refects any cartridges except genuine HP cartridges. I had just bought 2 cartridges that are clones that are trash now due to this monopoly!!!

Ink may not empty before printing stops.
I had to replace my previous HP black ink because it would not print anything although it certainly felt in my hand as if there was at leas 10-15% of the ink in it. Rip off.

Got a new HP mini tower. Connected to Internet, home network, connected to HP printer. Informed, "Your printer is low on ink, Get this." Got that. It came. Was the wrong ink!
Not easy to get HP to take it back. After 3rd transfer, got someone who understood, was apologetic, said, "... but I have to transfer your call to _____ department." Transfered to ____ department. Press this button, press that button, press the next button. Finally, the recording: "We're not here. Call back when we are."

I ran out of it by not paying attention. So i paid extra for overnight shipping. It took 4 + days. I'm not twisted about it, but it wasn't what I expected--even with a week-end. I could have just had the free shipping. I like getting it by carrier so I can avoid stores.

I haven't used this particular ink cartridge yet but have used identical ones in the past, and they work perfectly. I've found that the knock-offs DON'T work and can do serious damage to your printer. Won't do that again!

Ridiculously slow delivery. Took almost 2 weeks. Had to buy the same cartridge from Amazon while waiting. Amazon purchase showed up several days before HP. Would not recommend buying from HP until they improve delivery times. I'm assuming cartridge works, but I won't know until the Amazon cartridge runs out in a few months.

Have used HP ink cartridges for many years. Feel a certain loyalty since, many years ago, HP was the first to put ink jet printers on the market, replacing the terrible dot matrix printers. Cartridges are expensive, but I don't use the printer much, and like to have an indicator of how much ink is remaining in a cartridge.

63XL Black is a reliably good product, an improvement over the smaller cartridge, but still too expensive given its limited capacity. A Instant ink subscription-based solution is not a great alternative . Volume based pricing would be preferable.

Your ink is expensive compared to off-brands. I do think it is probably better quality. In addition, for over a year now for some reason, you have been unable to supply the Regular cartridges of # 63 ink. I really don't need the XL, because I don't need a lot of copies. I have had this XL ink dry up on me after several months, because I don't use much. I suggest you make an effort to get the Regular cartridges for customers like me, or reduce the price of the XL. I suppose you could offer the XL on a buy one get one free basis -LOL.

haven't had to use it yet but I am sure it's fine. I am NOT happy with delivery service who chose to not open my porch door to place delivery inside out of the weather (per my request on the door) and instead left it on my garbage can.

I bought one in beginning of March, took the first one back to the store because I couldn't scan anything as a pdf....then I bought this one because we our company had to work from home. The main reason I bought it was for the scanner. I am accounts payable and have to scan all of my invoices as a pdf document.... needless to say, this one is a piece of crap too. I can't scan anything as a pdf, it only scans as a stupid picture & I can't attach pictures into our work software..... I am not happy with it at all.

I bought the ink thru Costco. Printed about 150 pages in black and white. Ink dried out. I bought another package thru Costco ink dried out quickly. This is the third one I am using. Again printed tax documents. Now it says replace ink cartridge. 63xl ink supposed to last to print 480 pages. Totally disappointed.

I always buy HP ink for my printer and buy from HP as their prices are as good or sometimes better than other stores. The XL lasts a long time and I have never had a problem with a bad cartridge as I have with off brand products.

I have used several of these cartridges, and they have always worked without trouble. As with all printers, the ink is grossly overpriced. To restate the old safety razor joke, "They give away the razors, and make up the profit on the blades." The Envy printer works well, the best printer I have ever owned.

On my old printer I use to buy the recycled old filled ink cartridges but they never lasted long and always a problem, so when I got my new printer I went back and ordered the HP cartridges and oh so much better will only by the HP know. The only thing I miss is I use to be able to get the 2 pack, one black and one color and they do not have them anymore I really miss them would love it if they could come back.

My order got caught in a snow storm an was delayed arriving until 16 days after ordering. I checked to see where it was and they did not know when it would ship. It finally arrived 17 days after ordering. After 12 days I checked on the order. Automatic system said there was no order with that number. 2 days later talked to a live person who found the order and said delivery would be Saturday which is when I got them. The cartridges work well as do all HP products.

I am an infrequent printer. The ink is fine when it is new. Before I can use it for a dozen or so pages, it will be dried out. Useless. So, while the quality is quite good, it is too expensive for an infrequent printing use.

Usually I only use my printer 3 or 4 times a year. Recently I had a project and needed to do a lot of printing so I purchased new ink cartridges. The color cartridge lasted for 12 pages. When it ran out, I switched to black only printing. As I printed a few more pages they got progressively more pink! They got so pink, I couldn’t read the typed words. I’m pretty much computer dumb, but when you select black, why would you get pink? So for $73 I was able to print 12 good pages! I returned my HP printer to Costco, but not before calling HP customer service. They were no help at all.

I don't recall when HP sent me a refill cartridge because it has been a long time. My printer is not used very much. Your refill program may not be benefit me as it would someone who used their printer a great deal of the time. I will have to take a look at the usage of the printer and make a decision.

I've always bought my HP cartridges at Office Max. But last summer OM stopped stocking them, and last fall our local store closed, so I had to buy them online or drive an hour and a half to a store. So I ordered them. And the black cartridge seems to be defective. I thought I was having a problem with my printer. A local repairman said that he couldn't find anything wrong with the printer, but that the cartridge didn't seem brand new, as if it was long past its shelf life. That suggests that your company fobbed off a defective product on me, which I'm stuck with, because I still can't easily replace it. And that's poor customer service. Maybe my next printer won't be HP.

after installing new cartridge - printer error message says "Cartridge Problem" remove and reinstall the indicated cartridge, making sure it is correctly installed.
I have removed / reinstalled multiple times and getting same message - have never had this happen before after many other cartridge replacements. Defective cartridge???

I love your ink cartridges. My problem is, I ordered the wrong cartridge #. My printer uses 65XL, not 63XL. This is the 2nd time I've made this mistake so now I have printed a stick-um on the front stating "65XL only!" Thank GOD I had one correct cartridge on hand to use. Faulty ink cartridge
I ordered two 63xl ink cartridges. I put one of them in my printer, and my printer began printing fuzzy, illegible copies of whatever I was printing. I tried turning my printer off and back on multiple times. I printer black & white and color, many times. Finally I swapped out the new ink cartridge for another new one, and I didn’t have one problem. I guess one of the cartridges was just faulty??

HP official Ink broke connection to pC
I paid top dollar for the non-generic captive ink. The reason I did this is that I didn't want any complications. When I installed the new ink I lost connection to my computer and am still trying to troubleshoot. Painful to my wallet and to my time.

I have always purchased HP ink for my printer and always satisfied with your ink, but the delivery took longer then usual. In the past it was next day delivery, this time it took a week to get my ink. I had been out for several days and needed to print some important papers. Not Happy with delivery.

I stick with HP products, they never let me down.
I always order my 63XL black and color cartridges directly from HP. I tried another seller once because it was cheaper I thought. But they were refurbished HP cartridges and they did not last as long as promised, so it was more expensive and once they didn't even work when I installed them. So back to the HP online store to never experiment with others again. I also always order the high yield XL cartridges because they definitely last longer. I have also an HP printer and computer. HP is my brand because of the high quality and the online store is so convenient and if you sign up for an account you get discounts, too. I am a loyal and satisfied customer.

HP used to be great, no so good as of late
I ordered this on Apr 26, 2021 and 22 days later it still hasn't arrived. It stated that it takes 2 - 8 Business days and as of May 17 has been more than 15 Business days now. I find this unacceptable.

I have always thought i was getting a bargain purchasing from other vendors; I can honestly say i was printing maybe 400 pages per cartridge to now double. I'm glad I switched to HP, and they have a recycling program which decreases my carbon imprint!

Difficult
I had a difficult time setting up my printer because it was hard to find information on the type of WiFi it needed. Through 8 hours over 2 days of customer service calls to HP and my internet service provider, we had to add a 2G network. But my problems didn’t stop there. My printer continuously goes off line and I have to reinstall. I cannot print or scan at the moment. It test prints but won’t print my documents. I tried scanning and it says not available at this time. I have gone to the website to try to solve the issue but it doesn’t solve it and I am frustrated. I’ve owned it a couple of months now and can barely use it.

Defective cartridge
This cartridge was delivered 11/4/20 and installed today. The printer said it was incompatible; I ran required checks to confirm. I then installed a new 63 and the printer worked fine. I think I've lost the cost of the defective cartridge.

The Way to Go
I've learned over the years that high yield is the only way to go. If you do any amount of printing, you'll be very disappointed using the smaller cartridges. It's easy to put in and lasts MUCH longer that the smaller size. I've also never had a problem with HP cartridges drying up and not working.

Works well, but I use to get ongoing discounts to buy ink cartridges directly from HP since I've been a consumer of HP products over 15 years. We no longer get any discounts other than rewards based on $$'s purchased from past orders. Seems to me loyal customers are not any different than new customers when buying products. Why has it gotten so expensive?
I need this product for my printer, but wish it wasn't so expensive. Because it's an older model printer, I can't find generic equivalents any more. Corporate greed has always been a problem, but since the pandemic it's especially egregious.

I have recently been printing a lot. I know for a fact these cartridges are not printing anywhere the number of pages they claim. In fact, I would estimate it to be half of what they claim. Have continually been ordering more and it is extremely expensive for the number of pages. Also, lately shipping has been very slow and I find myself waiting for the ink to get here.

After many years, received our first faulty, non functioning cartridge. Near impossible to get a refund. Customer service was in India and said, "nothing I can do". At $45+ cartridge not easy to hear that. Is that customer service? nope. I believe HP owes us a cartridge.

HP is awesome, Ink is a tad pricey!
I use this printer for non for profit organizations. I am in 4 to keep things going! I really like the printer, it is a little temperamental- requires me to stop & think a minute- as to how to proceed. It gets the job done great documents. I use a larger HP at my work so HP is a product I like! But the ink doesn’t last as long as I thought it would. So, it’s costly for us. Again no reflection on the printers, just my wallet.

Great service, defective cartridge
I ordered 3 ink cartridges, two black and one color. After installing the first black ink cartridge, my printer said there was a problem with the cartridge. I removed it and reinstalled it twice more with the same result. The second one was installed and worked great. I followed the instructions for returning defective items and was quickly reimbursed for the defective one. I mailed the defective cartridge using the label HP provided. The service was good enough for 5 stars in spite of the defective cartridge. Thank you.

Wrong cartridge
HP63xl was not compatible with my Office Jet4630 as I found out after I opened the box an inserted the cartridge. Since I opened the box , HP did not exchange the cartridge, Since I purchased two, HP did send me a replacement for one but not the opened one.

Problem with Cartridge. It is not working. My printers keeps saying it is not installed properly. I have reinstalled it about 10 times and watched a video. I think there is an issue with the cartridge itself. How can I have it replaced?

Product Good, delivery lousy
The ink is fine and it is better than trying to reload the cartridge. HP's new delivery method is inferior by far to its past practice of 1-2 business days. This last delivery was 12 days. Anyone using USPS for product delivery these daysis out of their mind.

My title says it all. I've always had ink cartridges that printed down to the last drop. Not this one. Checking the supply levels and it shows that there is still 30% amount of ink left but blank pages print out.

I really don’t want to give this even one star because we keep getting a message saying the cartridge is not the correct one for the printer. Plus the quality of the print that is produced is jumbled and smudged. All very confusing because the exact number of the cartridge is stamped on the printer and we have been using the same cartridges since the printer was installed.

I have trouble with refurbished cartridges. Also the black ink is supposed to make around 430 some pages. This one didn't last very long at all and already had to order a new one. This one seemed to run out of ink much faster even though I have the printer set on draft so as not to use so much ink.

Have always bought genuine HP ink for my printer. Never had any problems, except with this last purchase of the 63XL Black. Caused black marks and blurred images. My 63XL delivery was a great alternative
In late December, I found myself very low on ink for my HPEnvy printer and with some deadlines to meet. When I tried to source replacements from two local vendors, they were both out of stock. What's a girl to do? I remembered seeing HP ads online suggesting ordering direct from HP and decided to try it. My order was filled immediately and my package at my door in no time... ie. within a day. Crisis averted!!

Prints OK. But dries up way too fast.
If you are only an occasional user (10-20 pages a week) you will be disappointed. They claim 480 pages. You'll be lucky to get half that. 240 pages for $50+ means 20 cents a page, without the paper. And the printer (3830) will only last you about 2 years. I've gone through 3 (only because they used to be on sale for $29; now they're $89, not worth it). Gotta find something better.

Great ink, but not eco friendly
It’s a great product, but expensive and the company doesn’t support recycling efforts. In fact, many printers have been designed to reject refilled cartridges, which is disappointing since refilling used cartridges help to reduce waste.

My only issue is the standard one: I could buy a new printer with the money i spend on ink every few months. Other than that the ink works fine.

Print’s Okay
We use our printer for home use. We thought the ink was going quickly, so I dated the cartridge last April 2022 and replaced it this April 2023. We never printed close to the 400 sheets that it says it should so I can only guess the cartridge dried in the one year that it was installed. I believe it said it should last about two years. It’s an older model but still prints well though, just wish it would last longer.

I purchased XL as I was constantly running low on ink after printing approximately 100 pages. I came across on the XLnd it said up to 480 pages, which made more sense to purchase. I ve printed approximately 200 pages and my printer is already warning me about low ink. Very disappointing.
