This happened with 3 consecutive cartridges, 2 ordered from Amazon and 1 directly from HP. I gave up on cartridges and now have an HP Ink Tank 7300.

Sometimes I have to make small changes and print several times- having a larger capacity cartridge is a must. My only complaint is availability of hp ink- I don’t use enough to warrant a monthly subscription but when I need it, I’d like it to be svailable.

My package was brought to me by a very kind gentleman that lives at least 3 miles from us and in his neighborhood found it in the grass as he said he saw it fall off the delivery truck. I chatted online to a representative and the same thing happened many many times. Finally the representative placed the order for me but I had to blindly accept and provide my credit card number without seeing the final shopping cart, hoping it would be correct. I think I spent about an hour just trying to buy 1 darn cartridge. I will definitely look elsewhere next time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Product in the HP Tridition Although the HP ink cartridges are an excellent fit for the HP printer, I truly believe that they are over priced especially when you need a total of 4 ink cartridges (black and color) and together they cost about $125.00 for the complete set. HP (and all other companies) could literally give away the printers and still make a fortune from just selling the ink. I still like the HP printers but I believe that the company could garner a lot of "game" points by lowering the cost of the ink.

This is the first time I had to change my ink cartridge since purchasing the printer. Upon doing so, the machine now only prints blank, white pages. After reporting this to HP and trouble shooting for hours across multiple departments, I have been told “Oh well! The product is no longer under warranty. We can offer you a $15 coupon.” Of course it’s no longer under warranty—who would need to change their ink so soon after purchase?! That coupon for such a new machine that has never been opened to change the ink?! Laughable and unacceptable! Now I have a broken, defective printer and over a hundred dollars of ink that cannot be used. HP was completely unreasonable and quite rude. And you have the nerve to ask my opinion? My opinion is that not only have you mistreated and lost a customer, but I will make it my mission to share my horrible experience with any person interested in your products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New cartridge I bought this genuine new cartridge from HP Store online. It shipped quickly through FedEx I opened the package and took the new cartridge out of the box. I pulled gently on the orange pull strip and ink went all over my clothes and furniture and floor and my hands and legs. The cartridge works fine once I cleaned it up and finished installing it by twisting the orange twist. But the ink ruined my shirt and pants and made a mess of my furniture and floors. I called HP to complain. They offered me a thousand reward points($30) for my troubles. But I lost $80 worth of clothing and an hour of my time cleaning and phone calling. Not a fair trade off; this is why two stars. The shipping was great. The printer works again. But I’m out some nice shorts and a shirt and my time and frustration. I’ve had many different printers since 1995 and have installed many ink cartridges during that period. But this one exploded after gently pulling the orange pull tab. I’m a little disappointed with the outcome and Hp customer response. Be careful when unwrapping the new cartridges. They’re probably made overseas

These new HP printers look flimsy in comparison. It will be interesting to see if they hold up half as long. There are good features on these printers such as scan a document direct to an email address. The 910 series of ink cartridges are very expensive. HP should have paid me to use the printers. Overall I like them.

I have used other recycled ink cartridges in my printer in the past to “save money” only to end up needing to replace the cartridge earlier than expected due to cartridge drying up. I have never had any problem with genuine HP ink cartridges. I know that my printer will print properly even when it has been idle for a few weeks or even a month. Thank you!
