So far so good (pretty darned good!
My home desktop is old enough that the original NICs, both ethernet and wifi have become limiting factors. All the other hops in my network are modern, so upgrading to this made a major difference- like 8-10mbps difference! I long ago learned to get the latest drivers for new hardware and not use the coaster CDs that ship in the box, so I had no issues at all getting this working in just a few minutes.

Super Fast Wifi!
Wow! My 10 year old Dell XPS was getting about 18MbPS with it's built in network card. I just installed the driver and plugged this into a usb port and now, I'm getting 168 Mbps!

not so great
I bought this in 2019 and now it stopped working. I have to constantly turn back on WIFI and reboot computer to get on the internet. This item was to replace the original WIFI connection. Staples said I need a new motherboard with the Wifi network card on a 1 1/2 year old HP computer. That costs as much as a new computer. So they sold me a NETGEAR AC1200 WIFI adapter. Now that has crapped out. DO NOT recommend not reliable even for my little usage did not last 1 year.

Horrible Quality
This adaptor constantly drops the connection, or cannot detect a wifi network at all. Even when i'm using my phone's hotspot and it's right next to my laptop, the adaptor drops the connection. I'll go days at a time where the adaptor wont even pick up my own home wifi.

Driver for Windows 10 doesn't work
Windows 10 doesn't recognise the USB even though the drive has already being installed. Spent a few hours to get it to recognise.
Work around is to tell it to use the driver call Realtek 8812BU Wireless LAN 802.11ac USB NIC

Times out
I bought this 3 weeks ago and i'm already experiencing trouble with it. Quite often the adapter times out, and i'm left without internet connection for up to 10 seconds. This can be quite troublesome when i am playing internet games which demands that i always bring my A-game. The connection is'nt always that fast either, compared to wired connection. I therefore give it 3 out of 5 stars.

Inconsistent
Installed this as my built in wifi card crapped out.
Problem #1: range is modest at best. My internal, metal encased card had better range, so I relocated my computer desk. : (
Problem #2: now the dongle shows connected to my network, but has no internet connectivity. I’m writing this review on my phone as I search for a solution. All other network devices (11 of them are functioning fine.
I’ve already spent too much time trying to make this work to be cost-effective. Will return to retailer today and get something more reliable.

Netgear Wi-Fi Adapter
The Netgear Wi-Fi Adapter was easy to install, in my old HP Computer. It provides my household with a very fast internet connection. This is exactly what was needed for my computer and TV streaming.

Poor Quality Device
This USB Wifi Adapter failed after approximately 3 months. It initially began to fail intermittently, but now it’s totally dead. Device gets very warm shortly after plugging it in.

Big Mistake!
Should have been a simple install, not a complicated device. Device showed up, but can not enable it. Looked on the website for updated drivers, not even the original drivers on the website. I can not blame you for not putting the original driver out there, I would be embarrassed too!

Garbage!
I use Win 7 Pro. I got this because I am too far from my router to plug in via ethernet. It frequently disconnects from the router and internet. Even more frequently, it causes my computer to crash. There is no specific driver for Win 7. I've had it a few months and tried other drivers to no avail. It's too late for me to return this garbage product to Best Buy. I have been fine with Netgear routers, but this is the second Netgear wifi adapter that I've used in my entire life, and both have had this issue. I thought Netgear had fixed this issue that happened 15 years ago with the old wifi card, but apparently not.

perfect
I have been using this dongle for quite some time now and am very pleased with it. My old laptop has only a 54Mbps connection and with this adapter I can get up to 866Mbps. Quite the improvement for an old dinosaur of a laptop

Poor support on install an operation.
Downloaded drivers on to a usb drive because I am unable to make a connection to a router on my pc I’ve built at home to install the drivers directly. When I open the files, the program installs and then asks me to insert my adapter into the port for detection but after 5 mins of nothing happening, a box pops up saying netgear genie the — adapter is not found.
