Easy set up
It was easy to set up. I still have my ring doorbell to set up but it will be in warmer weather. I have had one other one for 10 years but it wasn’t big enough for the house.

This thing was as easy to hook up I think my grandpaw wouldn’t even have a problem figuring it out. It works great as well got far more range than I ever expected with it.

My WIFI was very inconsistent through my home. I was super frustrated and started to look for other options. I came across the NETGEAR Nighthawk Dual-Band WIFI. Once set up my WIFI reaches all corners of my home, and love the extra security. Install was very easy.

This is truly a simple plug and play. My TV was freezing a lot and my wifi signal just didn't cover the house well. Since I installed Nighthawk all of my internet signal issues have gone away.

Ordered refurbished NetGear at the recomendation of our interenet rep.and was leary but we have been very well pleased. They came in the original box and had no indications that they were used and they work great so far.

Finally, no dead zones!

Why did I wait this long?
Was stuck with using the provided router until my cable service tech told me about The NETGEAR Mesh router.
Very easy to set up and get running.
Don’t be afraid to get away from paying a monthly fee from your internet provider.
Saving $10/month. Will be paid for in less than 9 months.
Don’t wait for a great connection.

Meh… Mesh Fail after a strong start
I have used these across 5 different locations. Support has issues realizing separate locations and they are capable of disabling wrong network. The items main router has failed 3 times 3 separate purchases meaning their quality is running at a 40% success rate. Not impressed definitely not a long term solution.

I bought this 3 months ago and I always having issues with satellites connecting to my router . For the last 3 months I don’t see my 2 satellites connected to my router for single minute of time . I logged few support tickets and I forget to follow up as every call takes 1 to 2 hrs to explain my issues etc . Iam sick of this product .

I got this a few months ago, it performs nicely, no issues, barely need to reboot it, the satellites work without any issues at all. However, it has a severe bug, all of a sudden it doesn't save any configuration changes, for example, I decided to create a separate 2.4 WIFI network, it works fine, until the router is rebooted, then it's gone. I created other items like port forwarding setup, or DHCP fixed IPs, etc, all works great, until the router is rebooted, all settings are reverted. In NetGear forums, other uses are complaining about it, also backing up the settings, and restoring them did not work either, I feel sad because NG was supposed to be a good brand. If NetGear doesn't push a firmware update to fix it, I'll get another brand and never buy any NetGear products again.

Best Mesh System EVER
I absolutely love this system. I only wish I bought sooner. I have multiple apps on my phone for my pool, lights, etc. And I tried other systems and still wasn't getting wifi outside. Once I installed these which was super EASY!! and I have no tech skills. I have had no problems, I can even FaceTime outside. love it!!

Three very light bricks
I bought this 6 months ago and it worked fine for about 1-2 months. This system is not good if you stream you TV and have multiple wifi connections. It constantly drops the signal or has a very slow connection. I purchased a different Netgear router that I hope outperforms this mesh, time will tell. I will wait some time to review that router to make sure it performs as expected.

A real work horse!
Bought it at a great sale price and had used a Nighthawk for years. Turned out I would have been thrilled at regular price. I was reluctant at first as I have an extensive wired network in my home, and it only had one ethernet port. I added a Netgear 4 port switch box to my existing layout via the single port. Two cables attached to this ran to two other 4 port switch boxes allowing the same amount of connectivity as the old Nighthawk. Everything worked like a charm, I had to make no changes! I couldn’t be more pleased with the purchase. I should note there are two Sony 4K TV’s in the mix running off my ISP and they are picture perfect. Do not hesitate to go Nighthawk.

Great wifi router system!
This Netgear Wifi mesh system is a great solution to your wifi reception issues from the default router that comes from your internet provider. This system made it easy to extend the range of the wifi in my house so there were no more dead spots for coverage. It was fairly easy to set up as long as you follow the instructions and it is super fast speed wise. I haven't had any issues with it so far, definitely a very nice system for the price!

Starts out good and then....
When we first connected things went well. As time progressed the WiFi became unstable randomly dropping devices. The devices that we are able to connect via ethernet are now hardwired (including backhauling both satellites and the wired devices are working fine (ruling out my ISP). As there are no other WiFi signals to interfere with our system (nearest neighbor over a mile away) it should be simple. Am ready to pull the Nighthawk system out and return to my old router (NOT a netgear product).

Hard time connecting smart plugs, Echo devices
Def improved range somewhat but...
-3 times the power usage because of the 3 devices included all need their own power adapter.
-Bugs me that I have to subscribe to Armour protection software when competitors include it, (sounds like PT- KLINK)
-I'm an IT guy and this system took me several after work evenings to get set up.
-Smart plug and Echo users take note. It is very difficult to get your smart plugs, echos and switches to reliable connect to this. I had to set them up on the guest WiFi. When (if) you do get them all connected, they seem to randomly disconnect and reconnect.
-I had to log onto the router from my laptop. The app did not offer enough options to set up my external devices.
-My Echo everywhere speaker group still isn't working correctly. I found lots of other peeps complaining online about these same issues.
I would not recommend this to a friend until the issue(s) are fixed.
Sorry NetGear but I'm Considering returning this product to Costco.
Update: I tried to submit this review to the NetGear $500 contest but every time I click the 3 star rating, the page failed. Clicking the 5 start took me right to the review page, no questions asked. Hmm...

Not ready for Smarthomes and Chromebooks or 2.4ghz
My kids and wife are using Chromebooks for their online classes, and unfortunately they only connect to 2.4ghz. Tech Support confirmed that there is no way to get this system to select that band, it automatically switches and combines the bands. If you log directly in to the routers WiFi it even lists only the 5ghz band. That's bad enough as my kids need to consistently stay connected for their classes every day, but on top of that some smart bulbs, security cams, smart ceiling fans, smart switches, security, and Ring doorbell also disconnect intermittently. Many of them are still using 2.4ghz, but even the 5ghz devices will sometimes disconnect. I read it could be "collisions", or too many devices, so I changed a bunch of settings per recommendations, such as selecting the channels, broadcast times, port forwarding the LIFX bulbs and BOND Hub that kept disconnecting, adjusting the Preamble, nothing seemed to completing fix the problem, however. I have to restart daily, or else everyone is screaming at me that they are losing connection. Not worth the stress, it's going back to Costco. I love Nightgear products but support is non-existent, and even with online searches it's clear there just isn't a way to get this to work with smart devices and Chromebooks.

Can’t make a separate 2.4ghz channel
I need a separate 2.4ghz channel and this system for some reason combines the two and makes it almost impossible to connect devices that are made only for that type of channel, light controllers, cameras, doorbell.

The Best
I traded in my R7900P on these furniture enhancing units, when the signal strength lights turned ROYAL Blue I could no longer watch the SPINNING circle buffering. RIP to the circle, I even noticed the audio & video are in PERFECT sync. The closed captions are more in sync. My apt is 35 yrs old and the signal must of had trouble going through the walls, I have the lowest speed (35, 15 devices hooked up are all working perfect, NO MORE LAG !!!

Crazy fast and awesome looking
This router looks awesome in my living room. It’s crazy fast. I use it for video streaming, work, personal and video games. It was super easy to setup as you don’t need to be a computer expert to do it.

Firmware update broke jt
I bought this item and installed it and it went very smoothly. Then the units said they required a firmware update, so I did it. After that they never worked again. I watched several videos and even spent over 2 hours with tech support, and they just would not work. I had to return them. Would not recommend.

One of the worst experiences I've ever had
I purchased this mesh system with 2 satellites just 30 days ago, and while I admit that the setup was easy enough, my experience after the fact has been horrendous. The system continuously drops random devices off of my network, and the satellites continue to go offline. I paid for Pro Support and so far, all I have gotten from it is hours of waiting for representatives in India to struggle to fix my problems when I do get someone on the line. Then, when my calls disconnect, do they "call back in 60 seconds"? No. They never call back. Avoid Netgear at all costs and find a US based company.

Dead Zones problems

Strong Wi-Fi signal
I would not recommend using your same network NAME as it confused my iPhone Wi-Fi and my iPhone was reading the signal as not connected to wifi; however I found it was fine to connect it using the same password. Customer service was great at helping me straighten this out. The Wi-Fi signal was boosted throughout my home which has helped me greatly with my thermostats & reaching certain areas of my home.

Worst purchase.
Nothing stays connected to the satellites and just reverts back to the actually router and the router gets congested. Constantly having to reset the router to get things to connect back to the satellites. Even something we have hardwired via ethernet cable to the satellite shows that it is connecting via WIFI to the router and not to the satellite.

Worst product!!
Worst experience!!!!!!!! Internet service had an outage and all of a sudden the router Nighthawk stopped working. I called to figure what is the issue since the internet company stated we do have internet. Now NETGEAR want $400 to fix the issues because it was an issue with security during the maintenance. This is the 3rd router with NETGEAR. Go hut another brand cause this crap is not worth it!!!
