Never bought a soundbar or system before this one is awesome, I don't know what people are talking about it's plenty good and I can't really tell the difference between ours and my friends wired system, wireless is a huuuge plus especially with kids and pets

Amazing sound
Samsung is absolutely the best when it comes to electronics. I use my Q series for movies, gaming, and watching all sports. It's literally like having a movie theater in your living room. It's almost a crime to listen or watch anything without this audio masterpiece. To be blessed with such quality and prestigious experience almost makes me cry! Thank you Samsung!

Great features and sound. Bass not so great.
I use my q990d for watching movies and listening to music.
It has great 3d sound especially using Qsymphony. The only problem is the bass i can barely hear it no matterwhere I place the subwoofer. I have a Q910A that has a better bass than this.

Great sound but, keeps disconnecting from the TV
The sound is impressive, it fills a room even a big room. I can't give it five stars because the sound bar continues to disconnect from the TV? I have gone online and tried updating the software. I've changed my HDMI cord to an arc HDMI cord. I have a Sony a 90 TV and have set that for the HDMI arc output. I really don't know why it keeps disconnecting and it's very frustrating.

Great Product
I had a Bose Lifestyle 5.1 surround system that quit working after 14 years. I decided to try this sound bar, and I have pleased with the performance after using it for 2 months. The sound bar connected to my Samsung TV seamlessly. The sound quality is amazing. Powerful bass with crystal clear dialog. I highly recommend this sound bar,

Worth the price. Easy to set up.
The sound is incredible and it mostly sets itself up. The way it integrates with Smart Things is really nice and makes it easy to select features. The dialog is crystal clear and when it's an Atmos movie it's almost magical. You can feel the sound around the room. The final thing I like is that the bass is strong yet not obnoxious or unsettling. You feel it, but it's not annoying like some sound systems are. I was on the fence on whether I should spend that much, but it turns out it's worth it's price and more. It elevates the enjoyment of my TV.

Purchased this system because when got the one below the sub woofer did not had enough power.
Was told this one was a higher model and much better.
For the price and what it was the sub woofer did not really had that much power.
It wasn't worth the price. Ended up returning it.

Samsung’s Customer Service Is a Disgrace – Avoid !
This review is more about Samsung's customer care and Samsung as company.
I ordered a "Samsung QN90 85” TV with the HWQ990D soundbar as part of a bundled deal. Sounds great, right? Well, Samsung had other plans. Somewhere along the way, their agent mysteriously canceled my soundbar order—without my approval. When I reached out to customer service, they admitted it was a mistake on their end** and assured me I could reorder the soundbar and they would match the bundle price.
That’s when the nightmare began.
Call after call, chat after chat—nothing got resolved. Every interaction was a merry-go-round of empty promises, scripted apologies, and outright incompetence. One agent said they would handle it, the next had no clue about the previous conversation. The final straw? Even after wasting hours of my time, Samsung failed to honor their own commitment, leaving me with two choices: pay more than I originally agreed to or return the entire order.
So, I am planning on returning it. (they are asking about $48 for restocking fee).
The soundbar and TV itself is great, but what good is a product when the company behind it treats its customers like an afterthought? Once the return window closes, you’re on your own. No accountability, no real support—just corporate apathy at its finest.
Buy at your own risk. I’ve learned my lesson, and I won’t be making this mistake again.

I’ve had it a while now and before this I had the Q70R , I thought that was a beast but this upgrade is really amazing ,crisp ,clear total surround sound deep bass and pair with my Q800 75 sometimes I don’t want to leave home. Thanks Samsung

One year after purchase and issues still remain!
First let me say the sound from this package is amazing. I paired this with a 98” tv for an impressive media room. The issue I have is in order for q-symphony to work between the tv and sound bar I literally have to reset the sound bar EVERY SINGLE TIME. Samsung sent a tech out and he changed some setting in the menus that only they have access to but it didn’t fix the issue. They next replaced the entire sound bar system but the problem remains….A YEAR LATER…. and now they fail to respond.

Sounds is amazing, great setup for surround with plenty of bass. The only problem is it disconnects from the Smart Things app, meaning it can’t be online to use smart services like Alexa etc. Each time this happens I have to factory reset the soundbar, which is a major hassle. This happened with my last Samsung soundbar also, the Q950T I believe. When Alexa is working, it gets triggered way too easily, interrupting the sound of whatever we’re watching. You can mute the mic, but that turns on a bright red light on the front of the soundbar which is very distracting in a dark room.

Samsung Q990D System Is Pure Delight
I’ve been astounded by this system’s incredible performance from the smallest speaker to the huge subwoofer. With the app, all the control for customization is in my hands. I actually replaced my basement media room ceiling tiles to prepare for this system. The two smaller rear multi-directional speakers are as essential as the 4-foot long soundbar. Without them, forget about multi-channel surround and spatial audio. The great thing is how no separate amplifier/receiver is needed to produce sparkling room filling sound design. I watched numerous YouTube videos and read countless reviews before ordering this system and dumping my Denon receiver and Klipsch 5.1 speakers. No regrets, just pure delight.

The HWQ990D soundbar is ok. It's better than nothing, I suppose. I'm glad I got mine through Woot and saved $1,000. I'd be really upset if I paid $2,000 for it. It has treble. It has some bass. But, there's very little when it comes to mids / mid-lows. It's quite sad honestly. The bass can shake the house, true. But without the mid to mid-lows, it has no heart. Absolutely no heart. It's very, "meh" to me. Just feels so weak and sad.

I've had this a couple weeks now. The dialogue is pretty clear, which is important for me as I have hearing issues. The subwoofer isn't as powerful as I would like and I sometimes miss my home theater setup.

Sound is too hyped up. No matter how you set things, bass is either too much or non existent. Sounds terrible for music as well. Very bright an fatiguing. Very over priced.

This product is a great investment. I have been enjoying the great sound output since I purchased this amazing soundbar and nothing else can compare to the quality. My only concern was that the surround sound rear speakers don’t work without being plugged in to a 120Vac outlet. I found that to be somewhat deceptive because everything i read and saw about the product did not in any way describe it as being wired. For that I was disappointed being that my intention was to hang them on the wall and that cost me more money to have an outlet mounted in the position intended for the surround sound rear speakers

Exactly as advertised. The system is incredible and top of it's class. The sound from the sound bar is sharp at all levels and the side speakers truly elevate the listening experience. I am no audiophile, but this truly made me appreciate great sounding speakers. These are great for listening to music and even better for an easy home theater experience.

Genuinely worse than the base TV audio. The sound is stronger, but the balancing is awful. The AI-augmented sound is shockingly bad. DO NOT buy this. Take your money to Sony or somewhere else. It's mostly just a gimmick.

Sound system = Great addition to new TV
Overall, I am happy with my order.
However, my only down point is that there should have been options provided by Samsung of qualitative good and well-fitting rear speaker floor stands since not everyone wants to mount it to their walls, and looking around for options ourselves.
Also, the configuration over remote and one liner screen, not very user-friendly. Should be available through phone app or through Samsung TV api/app to manage and configure it.

I purchased this about 8 months ago and am somewhat happy with the performance. some times there are popping noises that happen and some distortion which I can not seem to find a work around. I feel that there are not enough updates to keep us up to date with the ever changing tech.

Q990C is a great sounding bar! As reviewers have repeatedly pointed out, Samsung's engineers provide an array of features that produce stellar sound out of the box. I don't understand, though, why Samsung doesn't make any effort to describe the various settings they provide - what they do, how to set them, what to expect. For instance, there appears to be two different settings that, based solely on their names, are related to voice. Even in the full product manual, there's barely more than acknowledgement that each setting exists. This is an odd tactic. For a bar as expensive as this, with as much engineering as has been devoted to it, one would think Samsung would provide enough guidance for us to adjust this product to its maximum potential in our own home. Please provide us with a "Tweaker's Manual"!

So far the product has been great.. just set it up tonight after waiting 3 weeks for delivery. It was somewhat easy to setup, but it should probably put more emphasis on downloading the app for software setup. Made it much easier.

Great sound, atrocious chat support.
I replaced my 15 year old Bose Lifestyle 20 with this Samsung Sound bar. Had some issue's setting it up. Chat Support was atrocious, but we finally , after two hours, it got resolved. I will not use the chat feature to resolve any future issues. With that said, the sound is great and it works with my LG TV remote. Highly recommend, but if Support is required use the 800 number and I hope you get better support than i did with the chat Support.

I purchased the Sonos Arc Ultra first. I kept it for three weeks. I hosted a Christmas party and the system was adequate but got no feedback from family and friends. Returned it and purchased the Q990D. I hosted a NFC Championship gathering. The response and feedback was awesome. Everyone loved the sound and how clear the voices were. Powerful, not overwhelming. I love this soundbar. Not sure why people complain or feel like they need more bass...this thing bangs. It's paired with my Samsung TV.

Great product w/issues
I love the system and how flexible it is. The biggest issue I have with it is that when using Arc/eArc sound will randomly drop out for a short time and then come back in. I have tried all the recommended solutions but it still continues to drop out. I am now using the Bluetooth connection to avoid the drop outs. Not the best audio solution unfortunately.

Incredible sounding soundbar
These sound much better than they should for this size. Even though my Sammy TV is a 2019 model the latest firmware update allowed Q-Symphony with this soundbar setup. I couldn't ask for more other than I'd like to be able to add an additional subwoofer please.

I purchased the Sonos Arc Ultra first to hear it in my space, which is a big open two story family room. It was good sound but underwhelming. So I returned it and purchased the Q990D. Maaaan, when I tell you this thing fills the room. The sound quality is superb. We hosted a NFC east championship party and everyone kept asking about the speakers. The sound was hitting from every angle in the room. Not sure why people say they need more bass. The floor was thumping. I'm very much satisfied with the Q990D. Highly recommend it. 5 stars all day, every day!

Think twice before giving Samsung your money

Samsung update broke soundbar
Bricked. Samsung firmware update rendered the soundbar useless. It will not output sound, it will not change inputs, it will not connect to wifi, and it is not recognized in smart things app. It is now a very expensive paperweight. Samsung has done nothing to address this publicly.

Bought it six weeks ago. Worked for five weeks, sound was good. Bricked last week by the bad firmware, automatic, over the air update. Samsung support is not providing a fix, not offering to get it shipped in for repairs, just saying wait. Yeah, I'm waiting.

Soundbar has become nonfunctional after a pushed update from this criminal excuse for a company. I’ve chatted with multiple “customer service” reps and the best solution offered was that I pay for labor and shipping, they’ll pay for “parts”. Even after explaining that it’s due to their negligence in pushing a corrupt update. I was told they “provided a 12 month warranty” which I am now out of. Refusing to acknowledge that I wouldn’t have to require service or need the warranty if they didn’t mess my soundbar up. This isn’t the first time Samsung has screwed me on a warranty issue, but it will be the last. Steer clear of anything this company sells, they don’t care about customers or righting their wrongs.

Software auto update bricked my device, and probably will 1,000s or 10s of thousands of others (just google “q990d bricked”). Samsung has not made a public announcement or provided a plan after over a WEEK now. Service ticket is still in queue several days after submitting, with no word or confirmation of a plan. Horrendous customer service. Buy from literally any other company. Oh the soundbar sounded good for the 2 months it worked, for the cost of $1k or more.

I have had this unit for 3 months. You guys sent a firmware update that bricked the bar. Now it does nothing but turn on/off.
I'm am absolutely appalled that you sent out a faulty update that literally ruined most likely thousands of units. THEN not even acknowledge the problem or direct your customers on what to do. Your "customer service" is abysmal!
So now I have spend the time getting everything fixed and replaced, when the only mistake I made was buying the Q990D in the first place.

The solution for any home setup.
I was interested in finding a way to bring home like a movie theatre experience into my place. I ended up with this one after a lot of research and just saved up for it and never regretted my purchase.
Setting up:
This soundbar was very easy to setup to my TV. The sub and 2 extra speakers just connected wirelessly and effortlessly. I just hand to plug the hdmi cable to my TV and changed some sound setting to on the TV. If you wanted to do more advance tuning there's an easy to use app on the phone to do so.
Sound Quality:
This speaker sounds phenomenal!!!! The sound disperses throughout the room with my movies and gaming. The subwoofer sweeps from left to right. The soundbar actually projects sounds from above. I really feel like I'm in some kind of sound bubble when I'm enjoying my movies. I absoultely love this.
I really don't have anything negative to say about this package, it really delivers what you want from a great sound system. There's not many wires or cables to deal with coming from an traditional AV surround sound system. Very clean and slick setup for my gaming and movie needs.

Relatively easy to set-up. The combination of the sub woofer & the sound bar really boosted the TV sound in Q Symphony mode. I have had full blown systems before, but this has an interim solution after we moved houses.
Suffice to say I have not reinstalled my full .7 system with AVR & double Sub's. I'm happy enough. Would definitely buy again.

The sound of this is really good. The Voice Quality is what makes it the best, I could never hear alot of words on the tv before, this unit makes all that go away and now hear every word. The Surround sound and Base is a nice Bonus on top of the Voice.

Samsung Firmware Bricked Soundbars
I wouldn't buy a Samsung soundbar for a long time. After owning the 990 for three weeks (too late to return), Samsung sent out a firmware update and they "bricked" soundbars all over the world. They have not said publically said anything. Not a word!! Support is creating repair tickets and they are replacing hardware in the soundbar.

Never going to wired again!
I have been a loyal user of a very popular brand and have had a surround sound theater system for years that used speaker wire. We got a new pup around Christmas and it chewed up all the wires so it was time to upgrade. After watching some online content creators, they all collectively said Samsung was their top choice. I went with the Q990D especially after learning my newly purchased TV had Q-Symphony and I found out they could be paired, TOGETHER. How cool is that. Best of all? No more wires dangling around my house looking like a have a vine tree inside on the walls. It’s all wireless, as is the cool Q-Symphony feature. Connecting it all was more than easy, it did it all on its own. The first movie we watched was a popular war movies that come out, and it was so cool to hear all the explosions whiz around behind me. Because it’s wireless, I was able to tweak the sound for a much easier experience. It meant I could re arrange my living room now that I don’t have wires everywhere connecting the rear speakers. My family and I are beyond happy with our new purchase. Thanks Samsung!

Keep getting white noise
I purchased my Q990C series from Samsung, and when I first set it up, the sound quality was amazing. However, within a few minutes, it started emitting white noise, which became very annoying. I contacted Samsung, and a technician was sent to inspect the issue. After a brief check, he concluded that there was no problem with the system. However, after he left, I could clearly hear the noise again. I reached out to customer support once more, and another technician came by. He was able to hear the white noise, so he replaced the motherboard and tested the system for a few minutes. The noise seemed to disappear at first, but a few hours later, the white noise returned. I am still planning to call Samsung again to address the issue

Theater Level Sound
I heard the sound system at my daughters and was so impressed I decided to by one of my own. It delivers theater quality sound. The bass is really terrific and fills the room with feeling. The two smaller speakers, which we have placed at the rear of the room completes filling our living room with the surround sound. It fools my dog when voices come out of the rear speakers, he things there is someone in the next room. The sound bar delivers clear voice and sound effects. We also have a Samsung TV and the Sound systems pairs very easily with the TV. We opted to pair via WiFi but you can also use HDMI, Optic cable or Blue Tooth. Installation was a snap and downloading the SmartThings App made it even easier to adjust the settings to my liking.

Fantastic Sounding ATMOS Soundbar
I originally purchased an off brand soundbar and it just didn't produce the results I was looking for. Then, I saw an advertisement for the Samsung Q Series 11.1.4 ch Wireless Dolby ATMOS Soundbar + Rear Speaker, and I decided to buy it to replace/upgrade my sound system. WOW! What a huge and delightful difference. The subwoofer has a beautiful little punch to it, while the soundbar and rear speakers sound crisp and clear. The true surround sound is spot on. I would definitely recommend this great soundbar setup!

Bought this soundbar about a year ago (Q990D). It's been great, the sound out of it is really impressive. My review would have been 5/5 until about 5 days ago. I went to turn it on and the screen comes on but it's unresponsive. Googled it. Found out that my soundbar was bricked from an auto update firmware that Samsung deployed and have since pulled. I checked in the Smart Things app and sure enough mine was flashed to the bad firmware. There are countless people all over with this exact issue.
I contacted Samsung support who surely after a full week of endless reports of this at least know there is some sort of problem (which they have acknowledged by pulling said firmware from their website, but have yet to say anything publicly about all of the people that have been affected) - they told me to try resetting it which obviously does not work, I told them I tried the firmware flash via USB which won't work either. At this point they told me that because my soundbar was out of warranty that I would have to pay for repairs.
Keep in mind there was nothing wrong with this thing whatsoever until they bricked it with the update just like everyone else. I didn't even realize this was possible but here we are, a 1500$ paperweight and zero acknowledgement or support so far. It's just surprising because this is/was their "best" soundbar and they don't seem to care whatsoever.

I have this sound bar pared with QLED TV and the sound is amazing! I've got a 40'x20' open concept living/kitchen area. I was worried the adaptive sound wouldn't work well with so much space. It does just fine, more than fine.
I would recommend putting this sound bar in a more enclosed area for much better performance. But it flat out thumps when playing music. The rear speakers do such a good job of filling the space behind when watching a movie. Even my wife approves of the purchase and she was worried it was too expensive. There have been 0 complaints after plugging it in.
It's products like this that keep me coming back again and again to Samsung. I'm just as happy with this sound bar as I am with my 3rd TV from them!

I got this sound system in great deal. It was a great purchase I made. The sound and bass was very good. The only thing you gotta think is you have place subwoofer in the correct place for the perfect sound. I feel Samsung aced it with perfection at much better price than Sony/Bose which much more in expensive in this segment.

Powerful Sound & a Prem Price
Honestly, I think this is the best soundbar you can buy right now. It does come at a prem price so it's not for everyone's budget, but if it fits yours it's well worth it. Sound for both normal TV / Steaming is really good and movies with Atmos are so good. I wasn't sure if I should spend this type of money on a soundbar, but the second I hooked it up and turned on my first movie, I did not regret the purchase one bit. I like how it has full 120 support so I can connect my Xbox and PS5 up to it, so I no longer have any audio delays that I was getting with my older bar that only supported 60. The rear speakers are on the larger side and do have some weight to them, so make sure your speaker stand can support them, or you mount to a sturdy wall spot. The soundbar is also pretty long and heavy, but since I have mine on my TV stand this was not an issue and fits nice under my TV. I think this will be the last soundbar I buy for many many years as it has all the features I need, and I live in a small space, so I don't think I should ever need anything better than this. It connects easily to my Samsung TV and the Q-Symphony does add a nice little extra touch and is noticeable. I do wish the little screen on the soundbar was bigger as it's pretty hard to read the text as it can only display a few Char at a time, I'd say that is its only main design flaw.

One of the Best Soundbar you can get in the Market
I have been using Samsung soundbar for a few years, I had Q90R (7.1.4) soundbar that was a great soundbar when it was released, but of course every year the technology keeps getting better and better. But still Samsung stands top of the line in the Soundbar industry in my opinion, Q990D got all the bells and whistles from Q90R + more advanced technical support with 11.1.4 channels, HDMI 2.1, Q Symphony and much more. It sounds great with your latest Samsung tv with Q Symphony, but it sounds even better or the best when it's hooked up with your XBox (I have a Series X), the sound you get with this setup is top notch, I don't go over 15 volume level (that's already plenty), just can't imagine how this bad boy will be if I jack it up to 100 Volume level. Best of all these speakers are wireless just hook it up to the power, that's it.
Believe me if you want to really experience the best of the best home theatre experience wirelessly without breaking your bank. Buy this soundbar, along with a 85" inches Samsung TV (In my case Q800D) and XBox Series X, you won't go wrong.
Note: If you just connect this soundbar with your TV directly (without XBox) then you might not experience the best sound, especially the bass might be not be that effective, also you might have to crank up the volume over 25+ to get a decent sound still you might be missing something.

Good quality audio and interoperability
This works great. I love audio. It easily connects with Bluetooth and my phone as well. It's almost effortless to switch. I mention this because my previous sound system used to not switch to tv audio automatically. The only reason I give it 4 star is because of its size and I could not optimize its listening like bose systems.

Good hardware, software update bricked it.
Soundbar and speakers worked for 51 days, it was easy to set up which was nice. Then Samsung sent an update which bricked (completely broke) the soundbar and now requires a service appointment, which takes more time (10 days wait for an appointment). If I was to go through the purchase process again after knowing this, I would be hesitant knowing that at any point, an update can be sent to the device which can completely break it. Although it is an issue caused by Samsung, they will only fix it for free if you are covered under warranty. Very disappointed that I just bought this ($1,800 retail price) and it is now completely broken. The sound itself is good, the subwoofer is noticeable, but not sure I would be willing to repurchase considering how my TV built in speakers are OK, and how there is a risk of my product being completely useless at any point in the future from a Samsung update. Risk and cost is not worth the sound quality improvement comparatively to built in speakers or other available soundbars.

This is the one to get
I used to use a big AV receiver system but it's just way too big for my new space so I had gotten the matching LG soundbar for my OLED. Long and short is that LG never worked right despite constant updates and fiddling.
My new Samsung Q990D worked immediately out of the box. I wasn't expecting a big sound upgrade relative to the previous soundbar, just that everything would work but I was pleasantly surprised to hear how big an upgrade this truly was. I had Dolby Atmos before but now I truly experience it. The rear speakers especially are a game changer. Not just that they stay connected but the 3 direction output really creates an immersion I hadn't noticed experienced outside a Dolby theater.
I would give this 4.5/5 but I had to take a star away due to the packaging being subpar. The box was all torn up and a lot of the Styrofoam inserts were broken. Areas that need to be reinforced as the speakers aren't separated by much else. The other issue is the buttons/screen/remote are all a step down Ilin quality from the LG. The screen especially is too hard to read and I don't sit that far. For the price of this unit a much higher resolution screen should be included. I realize that everything can be controlled through the app but the screen still lights up when changing volume and the lack of resolution really is unsightly at best. All in all I'm am thrilled with my purchase.

Amazing sound just like being in a theater
I use my sound bar primarily watching movies and the sound is incredible. It's capable of getting much louder then what I can handle. The base is great and for me the thing I like best it has a feature that makes voices louder and more clear as people talk. Sometimes with all the background noise it's difficult to hear people talking but with this system it's very clear.

Use system for theater like sound experience. System definitely has a lot of benefits to the mid and lower options as far as balancing sound in movie, gaming and general viewing and sound. Still has noticed some limits on the more muted dialog vs the action and music but that could just be advance tuning I have not accessed. I feel that should be part of the initial setup. Would like more rear speaker surround sound even at lower volume and not need to increase the volume to what may be considered "louder than needed" by others in the household. Other than that, worth the investment. Would also recommend opting for equipment insurance since the system is not cheap.

One soundbar to rule them all.
So I set the Q990D up in my living room, on my console top, and honestly, the difference is night and day compared to my older 3.1 soundbar and even my proper 7.1 setup in the basement theatre.
Getting it out of the box, you can tell it's premium product. The main bar is substantial, and the rear speakers and subwoofer feel solid. Setup was surprisingly smooth. I plugged everything in, connected the main bar to my TV via HDMI eARC, and the wireless subwoofer and rear speakers linked up automatically without any fiddling. Used the SmartThings app for calibration (SpaceFit Sound Pro setting) was fairly straightforward too – it definitely tuned the sound to my room's layout fairly accurately and this is with a bay window on the left side for added complexity.
Turned on a few classic movies to check the sound and this is where the Q990D really shines. Watching movies with Atmos soundtracks is genuinely immersive. You don't just hear sound in front of you; it feels like it's properly surrounding you, even coming from above as advertised. Even listening to music is a step up – it feels wider and more detailed. Use this feature a lot to cast to the soundbar from my phone while making dinner.
Love it, shame I didn't upgrade before!

Bricked but fixed
So mine was one of the ones that was" bricked". It took perseverance, patience and several phone calls with Samsung to get it fixed. Samsung support was easy to work with, they provided me with a prepaid shipping label and kept in touch with the repair progress. It took several weeks but I got it back repaired. Otherwise, its an awesome setup and sounds great with my S90 TV. As with any products, issues can happen, do your homework, keep your cool and usually the manf. will work with you.

Great sound, good job Samsung
I replaced my Bose ultra smart soundbar to Samsung Q990D surround soundbar system. At first, I was skeptical about the sound quality as I have been a long time customer of Bose and Sony sound system. But Wow, the sound quality and sync rate of Q990D beats it's rivals. Though I purchased this system for home theater system, I often connect it to my audio device to listen classical music. It is awesome. I highly recommend. Good job Samsung.

Warning on subwoofer/bluetooth connections
A fair warning to all who purchase these units - I am on month 19 and the bluetooth module has failed in the subwoofer unit which eliminates all satellite speakers and the subwoofer itself from use. They do not sell these separately and the standard warranty is one year. I am out of luck and you will be too if you do not get some version of extended warranty on this item.

Perfect sound system
We purchased this 85" FRAME TV 2 months ago, and love it. Enjoy the beautiful pictures/paintings on display. Love having the choice of what art to view. Also, enjoy the fact that you can choose how often the picture changes. The installation was straightforward and well explained. Love the OneConnect hub. Also, the surround sound bluetooth speakers are fantastic. Excellent quality and exactly what we wanted. Enjoy the choices it offers to sound quality. Highly recommend this sound system, avoiding all the wires to connect the peripheral speakers and woofer. Great sound that fills our 40 foot great room. 5 star all the way.

Not Enough Bass
I bought the HW-Q930D and ended up returning it because the subwoofer didn't have enough bass that you could feel when watching movies. These have been movies with explosions in them, music, and other action scenes that worked to test this.
Recently got this model, the HW-Q990D after being told that the bass is more powerful and a much better system.
After setting it up and watching a few movies to test it, the sound in general is good.
Unfortunately, I don't hear that much bass from it, and not much difference from the system I returned. Have it set to the max level on the subwoofer and the bass levels.
Does not even shake the rooms or you can feel it much on the sofa. I have it on the right side of the sofa and have a tile floor.
I read others reviews saying that it shakes their room and has amazing bass sound.
I don't think is worth the price that paid for when can get a system for less money that might get better bass sound.

Disney+, Hulu, Paramount & Peacock all worked along with Prime, Amazon and all of my other subscriptions.
In December the first 4 apps stopped streaming only on this TV. The menus work, the trailers and functions work, but nothing will actually play.
The apps work fine on the other TVs, tablets and smartphones in the house

I bought this for Christmas of 2024 to go with my Samsung 75" QLED QN800C tv. I wasn't that impressed with it, coming from a 13 year old Yamaha YSP-4300 that actually worked quite well, but thought to "upgrade" to the Samsung for the new TV. So, here it is March 12, 2025, three months into the year and my new soundbar is not working. One day it was fine and the next it powers on and does nothing...no volume, no control function at all. I contact Samsung "Cares" and go through a text session trying to troubleshoot the issue and after wasting an hour plus of my time, no luck. The solution? Box the unit up and send it via UPS for repair. Great!! My basically new unit getting sent to a repair shop to get fixed? I can see how this is going to work. The unit is as new as it gets.....no scratches, dings, or any other issues....see what it looks like once it's repaired and sent back!! I had the Yamaha for 13 years with no issues at all. That's what I get for "upgrading" to the Samsung. It's a poor set-up that you can't access the soundbar on the TV for the settings, just use the little cheap display on the front of the soundbar!! Even the TV does not look as good as my Panasonic 65" plasma set did. You know. sometimes if it isn't broke, don't fix it!!

Decent hardware with disappointing implementation
After about a month of usage, I think I can comfortably say how middle of the road, mediocre, average this soundbar system is.
I initially set this up with the surround speakers as fronts. At least that was my intention so I could create a set up better suited to playing music. According to the manual and the SmartThings app this should be possible. However, if you set the sound mode to standard and play a 2-channel source file, the repurposed surround speakers that are now fronts, are inactive. The manual states that the surround speakers will be inactive with a 2 channel input in standard mode but this should only be for the traditional setup with the surrounds set as rear surrounds. When they are used as front speakers the left and right channels should be duplicated with the left and right drivers in the soundbar. This defeats the whole purpose of positioning the surrounds as front speakers. Needless to say I ended up buying some speaker stands and re-positioning them as rear surrounds. This was an absolute headache and could have been avoided if Samsung was more honest with the feature set.
Some other annoyances. Every time the soundbar is selected from the devices screen in the SmartThings app, it re downloads the entire interface, aka controller, which takes several seconds. Why is it not saved to the local device? The ability to adjust the channel levels kind of exists but unfortunately there is no left/right adjustment. The SmartThings app does not direct the user to swap the left and right speaker position as shown in the manual when setting them up as front speakers. This is a huge oversight within the app.

Easy to set up and amazing Sound Experience
I bought this soundbar about 4 months ago, and it has been amazing, For the price, you are getting a full surround system with everything you need included. The sound quality is amazing, really immersive and balanced, but most impressive of all is the setup, the rear speakers and the subwoofer connect by themselves to the soundbar without requiring you to pair them. Overall I am very satisfied with the experience and quality.

average and not user friendly
I have a Samsung sound bar and satellite speakers and subwoofer package. It's been approximately six months now. I paired it with a Samsung 65 inch smart television for best results. I found out of the box the system was not user friendly in setting up. The digital screen inside the sound bar is not easy to see and the set up was challenging. The Samsung TV was finally paired with the sound system and I chose the things I wanted the sound to do. I now find that watching TV that the sound to TV time is off. I usually shut down and restart the TV to help with this but it still is noticeable. It's like watching an old Kungfu movie with the lip syncing off experience. The system is suppose to pair and work automatically but it's obvious something is not right. I purchased this system over my last SONO system that we had and truthfully feel the SONO brand actually sounded better. Not sure how to explain that any other way. I just hated the fact SONO screwed up by expired tech that made us update the system after a period of time. Not cool. But the jury is still out on this system. So far, it's average.

Deflective device! Horrible customer service!
I received a dud, and the entire experience was a nightmare! I purchased this after doing substantial research. This product leads the market in function mixed with affordability. I first found out the sales tech lied to me about pricing. When confronted, the Samsung support staff blew me off and told me to purchase another device and return the one I had. Such a waste of time and shipping!
Upon receiving my device, I unfortunately had several issues with the device, and the Samsung support was abysmal! I was constantly transferred around to different people, and the support staff were clearly reading out of a script. I even tried the online support, and that was 10x worse. I actually wondered if I was talking to an AI part of the time. It was as if the support people were intentionally misunderstanding my issue and saying random things from a script. I tried time and time again to get support to fix my device, but after 6 days of issues, I had enough and said I wanted to return the item for a refund. Samsun then told me they were refusing the refund because I only had 5 days to return an item that was defective. I had to make a big stink for them to finally honor their advertised return policy and accept my return. Mind you, I only had the device for 6 days.
The entire experience was an absolute nightmare! I genuinely want this device, and wish I didn't get a defective device. Really, really frustrating when a company will not honor what they sell!

The problem appears to be widespread if the message board is any indication. Was a nice soundbar for 2 months...

Purchased a month ago and now I’m stuck with a $1500 brick on the wall. Latest Samsung firmware update 1020.7 makes the entire soundbar inoperable. I contacted Samsung support and they have no idea what to do. Multiple news articles and people all over the web discussing this issue yet Samsung has not released a statement on this yet. The broken firmware is still being pushed out to soundbars worldwide. Huge issue and I will not be buying Samsung products anymore.

Samsung pushed an update that bricked a large number of these soundbars including mine. It is very disappointing that multiple outlets have reported on this issue without an official response from Samsung. I expected better from this company. The issue is so big that it prevents any updating via USB. It may require a mass recall of these devices and an extended lead time for repair.

Good hardware but the software holds it back. For example:
1) the 7-band equalizer is disabled on Adaptive Sound+; in this mode it reverts to only Bass and Treble, 2) the Channel Levels cannot be set separately for the Left and Right sides; this can be a problem when one side is against a wall so it sounds stronger there compared to the other side, and 3) Apple Music does not play in full Spatial Audio / Dolby Atmos when on WiFi.

Great Soundbar With Good Dolby Atmos Support
The integration between this soundbar and my Samsung OLED TV is great! Setup was easy and controlling both devices via one remote (my Google TV Streamer) works very well. If I had one complaint it would be that the rear volume could be louder. I don't seem to be able to boost it as much as I want.

No accountability for theor products
Firmware update bricked my soundbar and while it was confirmed to be under warranty, apparently because I'm in th US and mine was manufactured in Canada neither Samsung will honor the warranty. The company is global, the update is known worldwide, but my address versus the model number is causing me not to get support for an issue that I can prove I purchased that was made useless by no fault of my own. I tried to escalate the issue with both subsidiaries to no avail. I've read online that multiple people have had the same issue. This is the worst customer service experience I've had. It's very frustrating because I buy the new phone every year I have multiple appliances, TVs, watches and I'm irrelevant! Which makes sense because I'm a little fish in a big pond.

I could not be more pleased
I have always believed that I needed to have an AVR and multiple large speakers to achieve quality sound. This system has changed my perspective completely. The sound is far better than I was able to achieve with a much more expensive, large, and complex system. I will be a Samsung soundbar user for life.

Amazing Sound!
I use it for movie streaming. The crisp, bass immersion is just incredible. Clear lows and highs. I would definitely recommend this sound system to anyone looking to upgrade. It was very easy to set up as well, and the peace of mind of having tech help available makes it an easy choice.

NEVER BUY A PRODUCT FROM SAMSUNG AGAIN
SAMSUNG FUTURE BUYERS BEWARE, Worst Products and even worse Customer Service. I spent $757.74 for this crappy TV, and I spent over $1600.00 for Samsung's Flagship Soundbar HW-Q990-D. I spent over $3000.00 on these two products.
HUGE MISTAKE, I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM SAMSUNG EVER AGAIN! THE TV SOUND CUTS OUT EVERY 15 MINUTES, It's Garbage.
The Samsung's Flagship Soundbar HW-Q990-D I purchased in late February of this year broke less than 30 days after I bought it, it bricked, it completely shut down and now its worthless.
I tried for four weeks to get a solution from Samsung, but their customer service is horrible. No one knew how to fix the problem.
Samsung's solution was to ask me to box it up at my expense an mail it back to them so they could fix it and send it back to me. I refused, because I didn't pay $1,600.00 for a broken and needing repairs soundbar. I bought a brand-new product. They refused to refund my money so now I own a overpriced worthless piece of junk, broken Soundbar. Samsungs best soundbar. Its worthless!
I learned the problem was worldwid and Samsung pushed an automated update through its system and broke over 50,000 sound bars.
I got sick to my stomach from nerves over this situation and Samsung's refusal to respond. I called their customer service hundreds of times, they couldn't speak English clearly and they tell us what to do. They just kept telling everyone they will submit a ticket, which did nothing. Great Surround Sound from Soundbar
use the soundbar setup daily for satellite tv, streaming services, and cd player. Produces great sound with very realistic theater sound using the 3 included (wireless bass and 2 rear) speakers. There are times when the sound is so realistic I hear sounds I didn’t realize were part of the soundtrack and not a random sound in the house. Tried at least 4 other soundbars and none sounded as good and so easy to connect to my Samsung 75” smart ?TV.

Beautiful sound, when working correctly.
The system itself is very nice looking. It looks premium for sure. Also, when it's working correctly, the sound is amazing. You get full cinema sound. But then....it can change on its own, and suddenly all the sound stays loud, but the voices in the audio almost completely vanish. And figuring out how to fix it is near impossible - it's fumbling around trying to find the right setting. It might have to do with the TV it's connected to (mine is the QN90D). But it's extremely frustrating to sit down to watch something and suddenly all you hear is the background music but absolutely no voices. I didn't even know something could separate out audio like that. There isn't much of a guide included with the system, so it's just blindly playing around with settings on this and on the tv until, suddenly, it just starts working. It has something to do with the Symphony mode I think - but I don't know. So while I really love the sound that comes from this system, this little quirk is extremely obnoxious, especially when you just want to sit down and watch something but then have to spend 15 minutes poking through settings to fix it. In the end I just turned off the Symphony thing and just run it normal, but then the audio isn't as amazing. So yeah, I want to really love this, but I just really come off more irritated by it than enjoying it. Oh, but rear speakers connect easily without much problems, so....small plus.

The Q990D sounds great
I use the q990d with my Samsung tv, blue player, satellite tv and stream music. Seamless connection with the tv. The subwoofer and rear speakers connected via Bluetooth with no effort on my part. Basically plug and play. Great upgrade from my previous surround system. Got to remove my receiver and the clutter of wires connecting all my devices. More than enough volume and could easily a room many times my current family room.

Best Samsung option with room for growth
I would love this device if it weren't for a few things that could improve.
1) The device constantly shows offline on smart things and you have to do a fresh resync anytime you want smart things to work.
2) The rear speakers are very quiet. I had to move them to Max volume and even then they are just passable in terms of how much audio comes out.
3) The subwoofer is weak. It's so large but still produces no bass. I confirmed that the woofer is vibrating by reaching inside but the power is so incredibly mild even when turned up to max.
3) The Bluetooth connection option is hit or miss.
4) Sometimes the device stops registering with my Samsung TV. I have to unplug it and let it restart and then reauthenticate.
This is my 3rd pair. I buy it because of q symphony and it does sound lovely. It's just needs to be improved.

The sound and quality of the system is great. The remote is not very good, there is a mute button above the volume button and the volume button also mutes when pushed down that is a pain in the a.. why is there 2 mute options right next to each other and 1 gets pushed when trying to adjust the volume?!? There are also many features unavailable on the remote and can only be accessed through the app! Product is ok, remote is garbage and Samsung sucks!

Great sound. I can hear.
I can finally hear. I always had to turn the volume way up or turn the captions on, which I really didn't like doing and neither did anyone else. My wife just told me that she never realized what all we were missing just using our old system. She was definitely a skeptic until we were watching something and the sound engulfed us. She was a believer after that. I got it on a great deal and I would definitely buy this again.

Awesome sound and ease of setup
This soundbar is great for Movies, videos and TV. For music, my older dedicated Stereo system with big speakers just sounds better and more pure. The setup is easy - just plug it in and it works without messing around. The Symphony is nice but I could barely hear the difference - however I can tell it's there if I pay close attention. The bass is good, but not earth shattering. If you don't think it's enough, your expectations are too high. You are the problem. Find this at the right price and it's an incredible value. I'll never be without this soundbar again. It's a game changer.

After spending a few weeks with the Samsung Q990D, I can confidently say this soundbar pushes home theater sound to impressive new heights — though not without some familiar echoes from its predecessor.
What immediately stands out is the sheer scale and clarity. The 11.1.4 channel setup with true wireless rear speakers and subwoofer creates an incredibly immersive surround sound experience. Dolby Atmos and DTS:X content really shine here. Sounds feel like they come from all around and even above you, which transforms movie nights completely.
Dialogue clarity is excellent — voices stay crisp even during action-packed sequences. Bass is deep and punchy but tight, without overwhelming the room. Music playback is surprisingly balanced as well, making this soundbar versatile beyond movies and TV.

The movie theater is jealous!
I have a complete Samsung set up. I have the 8k 65-inch TV hooked up to the sound bar and the "Q Symphonic" sound is simply nothing short of amazing. I used to frequent the local theater with a few of my friends, but why? My picture is better, and the sound system crushed the surround sound effects. Also, I use a few music streaming services and my former wife, who is a bit of an audiophile, is impressed. She uses another competitor's equipment, but she is starting to migrate over to something along what I use. My movie going friends? They now ask if we can just rent something current and hang out here.

Clearest Audio I've Heard
I purchased this Surround Sound kit when I was looking for a setup for Movie Nights. We like family movie nights, so I wanted a good audio system. My son also likes playing his game system, so we wanted audio to enhance that as well. We were blown away at how well and clear this system works. The audio is perfect and has no distortion at all. We can't even turn the volume all the way up because of how loud it is just turning it up a bit. You can feel the sub woofer and the rear speaker makes you feel like you are surrounded by the action. I would definitely invest in this system if you want a great setup for movies or gaming!

This sound bar is amazing, it sounds brilliant, and is so easy to set up especially when you use it on wifi makes it so you don't have all the wires around. EARC works awesome crystal clear. The bass is very thumpy and you can hear every rumble. Woth Dolby atomos surround and the q symphony every moive you watch you become so immersed in it. When you are playing videos games you can hear shooting or foot steps from all around and tell wjat direction it's coming from. All in all I would highly recommend this set up or even the step above it for a great home theater experience.

I originally bought this sound bar blindly. Im usually a Sony Fan person when it comes to Audio and Video. I just thought to my self how bad can it be. The answer is None at all. To my ears everything is AMAZING! I never imagined this sound bar to be so Good. Love the Volume, it doesn't seem to gap no matter how loud I put it. I love that because others say its volume keeps getting louder but it just stops gaining volume like 8 volume levels ago. This is an amazing sound bar system. I love it. Makes me want to try their TVs as well.

The Quality of the sound is unmatchable ,the best soundbar I ever owned . The app (smart things) is extremely easy to use and very responsive. You can control of each individual speeker & volume, the space fit is amazing it automatically adjust for best sound with your layout . The equalizer is also very responsive along with the preset selections.
I Absolutely love this system.
I spent over a month researching , reading reviews & shopping around for the best value & quality for my money before I bought it. I thought it was a little expensive at first. After having it for 3 months and playing with all the settings , the Quality of sound and ability of volume...it is well worth the money .

Perfect match with Samsung TVs using Q-Symphony, I’m totally amazed of sound quality, and even if volume is set at max, the distortion is minimal, and loudness is incredible, I have to watch TV with volume at 20 or less (out of 100), watching movies with Dolby ATMOS is wonderful, you feel totally immersed in the movie.

I really enjoy this product. The sound is awesome. Soo clear and precise. The problem I had with sound systems in the past when looking at a movie was the clarity of what they said wasn't that good But the Samsung Q series clarity is unmatched!! It really sounds like I am at the movies in an IMAX stadium lol!! It goes well with with my Samsung Neo QLED 85 inch television that I bought.

I bought this thought to be wireless surround sound speakers only to find out that they require 120vac to operate. The item written description says wireless, the item graphics depicts no wires attached. I had to pay an electrician to install an electrical outlet on the wall I intended for the installation of my surround sound speaker

Q990D is the best!
Got this in December along with 75" Neo QLED. Was not really even looking to replace the 2021 QLED and sound bar but after reading reviews of the Q990D I had to check it out. Best sound bar I've ever seen hands down. Surround sound is incredible with ATMOS. You feel and hear sound all around you. This is by far worth every penny of the original price.

Does Spacefit Sound work on Sony TV??
Does Spacefit Sound Pro work with non-Samsung TV's? This was one of the reasons I purchased this soundbar. I have the mic on, and Spacefit on but it has never moved any of my settings on the Smart Things app. I don't think it's working. I have a Sony 950G TV. Thanks.

In a small room this system is truly a monster. Surround sound bounces off the wall and ceiling just as Atmos does. It's truly an experience only Samsung can deliver.

Unreal sound
Just received this soundbar and after a very simple setup I was completely blown away. I watched many reviews and was skeptical about such a huge investment. My expectations were surpassed, the sound quality, clarity and signal processing was much better than the reviews .I wholly recommend this to anyone shopping for a top of the line soundbar.

Super easy setup from the start
This has to be the best sound bar ever pared with our 77" OLED TV ! I live in the suburb and like a stone away from each other. Our movie night has turn to become our favorite time together at our own home. Movies comes alive!
It has significantly enhance our viewing experience. It gives a an impressive wide soundstage which creates a more immersive experience, making us feel surrounded by the audio. Excellent Dolby Atmos for a soundbar
The sound bar although it's quite big present impressive surround sound effect on normal audio input and very impressive Dobby Atmos effect on Dolby audio input.
Although the subwoofer is slightly less heavy on the bass, it packs quite a bunch at a decent volume.
The rest speakers are excellent in producing upward firing sound, playing PlayStation has never been this exciting, especially multiplayer games that need sound accuracy.

SAMSUNG Q990D SOUNDBAR
Just ordered this amazing soundbar for my new home theater and cannot wait to get it installed. My only concern is mounting the rear satellites to the wall. It doesnt appear that the rear speakers come with any wall mount brackets. Also, what is the thread pattern in the casing to accept the screws? I might need to fabricate something. Any help Samsung?

Phenomenal sound
If you're like me and don't want to bother with extreme audiophile setups, this is a really good setup. It honestly sounds like a movie theater when you crank it up enough! I sometimes turn it down because I worry about noise complaints, so definitely no need to worry about it being loud enough! There is a night mode feature, so volume control is no issue at all either.
Music sounds great, movies are amazing assuming they're well mixed and the current problem of dialogue volume on 2 and everything else at 9. The only issue I personally have faced so far is every so often, maybe like once a week or so, the sound will get choppy for about 5 minutes then fix itself. Besides that, highly recommend.

So immersive, it confuses small children
I upgraded from a 5.0 Sonos system, and the 11.1.4 that the Q990D offers is a significant improvement.
First of all, the sub is amazing. Just having that LFE channel at all really opens up the range of the audio content, but the included sub for this system is top tier. I found the option on the remote to change the bass level to be a great addition, since it makes it simple to turn down during naps and back up after.
Second, this soundbar is HUGE. Anything less than a 55" TV will be absolutely dwarved. It is almost twice the size of the Sonos Beam (Gen 1). It is also heavy, so plan your placement accordingly or consider wall mounting it. The sound quality of this thing is astounding, you don't know what you've been missing until you hear it.
Third, the satellite speakers are of the same high quality as the rest of the system. Also considerably heavy, I've opted to wall mount these as well. I love how the side speakers on the sound bar and each of these work together to make a circumference of amazing sound.
Lastly, how amazing is the Dolby Atmos/surround performance? Well, my 4YO was watching me play a game, where there was a waterfall about mid range from the player. They went to the right rear speaker looking for it, saying "there's water over here". They ended up following the sound around the room as I turned the player in place, which was quite entertaining.

Great Upgrade, My wife even loves it!
I had an HW-N950 that started acting up, and we were always turning up the volume when we needed to hear voices, and then it would get so loud during the music, we'd have to turn it down, so it was time to upgrade. Let me tell you, Holy cow, it's well worth it! I have an older Samsung TV, so I can't use all the features, such as "spacefit sound" but can still take advantage of most features! The bass on this is impressive, I wound up waking up to the bass, (i sleep over the room the soundbar is in) from what my wife was watching, and the TV volume was only at 8 or 9. Even with the bass set to 0, and the woofer at -6, it still woke me up. I wound up tweaking it a bit more, and haven't been woken up since. I was playing around with the settings and there's a "sound grouping" option to make the sound clearer in any location, and to quote my wife, "I prefer the way it sounds in this mode, it reminds me of a movie theater." My wife isn't one who is into the newest technology, so hearing her say this, made me smile and know the investment was well worth it!

Mixed Feelings
I’ve noticed that the Q990D has received many positive reviews, but based on my own experience, I have mixed feelings. While it does offer some good moments, in most cases, I feel like my 10-year-old JBL outperforms it. I also have a Bose 900 system with real speakers, and I was hoping the Q990D would surpass it, but that hasn't been the case. I’m wondering if it could be due to the placement of the speakers or connection issues. Unfortunately, the product support I’ve received from Samsung so far has been disappointing, and I’m hoping for more helpful assistance.

I'm 56 years old.....
Ok not that I have a hearing issue but I just started to feel I wasn't hearing the voices on the TV as clear as I should. Everything just seemed muffled under the noise of the whole show. It was like deep in the background.
Then I had friends over and they mentioned it during a movie.
Well, this new sound system has fixed all that and MORE!
I don't know how, but voice conversations are clearer than ever and everything is so crisp! This was by far the best replacement Surround sound system I've bought yet. It has made watching television so much more of a pleasure. I'm completely enveloped, It's truly amazing. It feels like you're at the movies. Watching my streaming shows on my weekends.

Missing important functionality
sound is good, one biggest drawback is 7 band eq is disabled when surround speakers are on. You can only use 7 band EQ with rear speaker disabled. Samsung should have enable option for better sound tuning.

Amazing wireless Dolby Atmos, DTS:X soundbar syste
I got the Q990D 3 weeks ago and it sounds amazing coming from a minimalist soundbar. The Dolby Atmos, DTS:X wireless speakers works perfectly. I got it on sale at Amazon as an open box but completely sealed and free next day delivery. This is an excellent product, especially if you can get it on sale.

Excellent acoustic sound
I had a bose, then I bought a klipsch cinema 800 which was a huge mistake. So I dove into samsung an I must say I am incredibly impressed with this sound bar. I can actually hear what people are saying in movies, the quality of the sound is absolutely amazing. I do wish there was more bass but I am extremely pleased with the rest.

Soundbar is great. Subwoofer, not so much.
I bought this a month ago. Easy set up. Soundbar sounds great. The new subwoofer feels weaker than my old Vizio 2.1 system I had. I don't know if its a faulty unit. Or if it's designed that way but I might return it. Bass was cranked up to max along with Subwoofer +6. Still lacked the kick I needed.

Sound is as Advertised
I bought mine a couple of months ago, and at first, I was a bit confused as to how to get everything that it is capable of doing to work. It's not just Plug & Play, unfortunately. It takes some time to familiarize yourself with all the settings, especially when you get the new Samsung QN900D Neo QLED 8K TV and want to set up the Q-Symphony settings! My one gripe is that the instructions are Vague. But when you do figure it out, it's a real treat! It has excellent Surround Sound after you get everything going right. You then get the snap of bullets or cars coming from behind, or if two people are talking to one another and one is on the screen, and the other is offscreen, you hear their voice behind you. As they move left or right, their voice tracks, and as they come
around and show back up on the TV, you hear them walking/talking down the side of the room; it's not just suddenly they are behind you, then in front; it's like they are walking around you so the voice or car, whatever it may be sound like there are speakers all around the room.
If Your room doesn't have a lot of soft curtains, pillows, Books, and other sound-absorbing materials, the better the effect because Samsung uses acoustics to bounce the sound around the room. Usually, to get that type of tracking, you'll spend / I spent 12g for "Marantz" separates ($6g for the AV 10 Decoder and another $6g for the Amp 10). I/ you (would) also had to buy 17 (in total) speakers (I bought "Definitive Technology" speakers), Two subs, 1.15" & 1.12" four Towers (for my front and rear channels). The rest are Surround + a Center channel upfront. If you look it up, there's a specific pattern to the placement of the speakers to get the full ATAMOS, DTS ES+, or THX sound; most are standard placement, others are mounted HI or facing up, being sure you don't accidentally cancel out any of the sounds by pointing them directly at each other esp. if they're pretty close to each other. All that costs upwards of $25,000.00, but I'm an audiophile, so to me, it's worth it! But You can't realistically listen to everything every time you turn on the TV. That is where the Samsung QN990D sound system comes in and shines! For a little over $1,500.00, you can get great sound, a lot better than just the TV speakers at the least. The only real difference is you don't get that Movie Theater sound that you feel, and you don't spend 25 grand, but you do get the complete Surround Sound effects; plus, you can use it when or If other people are sleeping. You can put it in your bedroom, and the sound doesn't bleed out of most rooms if your house has an open floor plan and you crank it, yes that's going to carry; I found you don't need to crank the volume way up to get good crisp quality Surround Sound experience. There are unique settings like "Nite Mode" or "Personal Mode" to enjoy the experience without waking the baby or your neighbors if you live in an apartment complex. I left one star out only because I couldn't do ½ star. Only because It took me a minute to figure out how to get everything to sound like it should, but after I did, I was delighted, "Sounds as Advertised"!

No receiver can match the channels provided with the Q Series 11.1.4 ch Wireless Dolby ATMOS Sound bar + Rear Speaker (2024)! The sound quality is immaculate with Hi-Res Lossless audio. Over the past generations of Q series soundbars, Samsung has listened to consumers and upgraded its units to come closer to a perfect soundbar. From the first generation, it was a complete package for any challenge, whether it was music streaming, watching a Dolby Atmos movie, or streaming a console game; they’ve got you covered with the best experience. Samsung was the first soundbar company to have separate Atmos-enabled surround speakers with the HW series. The connectivity issue was resolved three generations ago, and with the 990D, you have a unit capable of tailoring the sound based on your room’s settings. With 11.1.4 channels, you can count on the quality of Atmos and DTS:X tracks to be near perfect. With the D, your pass-through is upgraded to 4K 120Hz, which is great for those who have consoles and compatible TVs. The sound quality is at a stage where it is hard to expect any upgrades. The only thing they could upgrade next is to have the ability to add a second subwoofer, although the bass of this device is more than enough. At this price point, there is no competition considering the quality and features of this soundbar, so I would recommend it to anyone who loves to have a whole theater in their home hall.

The sound effect comes from the sound bar plus the rear speakers make the experience while watching movies or even listening to music amazing. The elegant design blend and with furniture so well by itself it's piece of art. My next step is to buy the frame and the music frame.

For such a small package has amazing sound!
I was at a friend's place and
he had the QN990B and I was amazed by the clarity of sound, I have/had the "BOSE CUBE" system which cost double the price of the QN990D soundbar which replaced them! Combined with my 85" QN900D 8K Neo QLED TV, it's a breed apart, and I use the "soundbar" all the time; for TV, gaming, and streaming. The great thing is, the sound doesn't bleed outside my room, which is great b/ I sleep during the day and awake at night, started when I was a teenager. About 20 years ago I was paralyzed, due to circumstances beyond my control I'm mostly bedbound so after my father passed my mother moved in & she sleeps at night. So with the Samsung 8K QN900D TV and QN990D soundbar I'm able to have hi quality sound without disturbing her, unlike my other system a "Marantz separates AV 10 and Amp10" with 500W per channel a total of 17 speakers four of which are towers front and rear w/ built-in amps & 12" subs in each, and the center has a built-in amp w/ 8" subs, then theres the two 15" subs. When I use that system the whole house shakes ??, so I am not able to use it except for when new movies or games are released then it's a family affair, but I mainly use the Samsung setup! Both systems have superb surround sound w/ pluses & minuses. One example, cost Samsung cost $1799.98, the other upwards $20+G's, so dollar 4 dollar Samsung is more accessible. Between the 2, the "separates" have a theater feeling, the Samsung sound is as full but not as loud as the other!

Awesome sound!
I purchased this soundbar to go along with the new 2024 OLED TV and it is absolutely amazing. I am very happy that I chose this as opposed to a Sonos set, which is what I have always owned since 2017. It was the best decision. The sound quality which comes out from this device is something that you need to experience for yourself. Words can't fully explain the awesomeness. My wife is constantly telling me to turn it down, and I tell her to go watch TV in the other room, as I am going to enjoy it.

First Soundbar System
This was my first soundbar purchase and man did I start off with one of the best. When pairing the Q990D with my 75 inch Samsung tv I truly elevated my entertainment experience to a level I never dreamed. When streaming movies from native tv apps I get fully immersed from the Dolby Atmos for I truly feel like I am sitting inside a bubble with action happening behind me, above me, beside me, and in front of me. I am also able to pass my PS5 through the soundbar without losing any of my favorite gaming features. I have had zero regrets since making this purchase.

Best soundbar and rear speakers ever! Looked at sonos, Bose and Sony quad theatre. Quad theatre has connectivity issues, Bose and Sonos cost more for the same setup and still don’t have the same punch the Samsung soundbar provides.

The Samsung Q900d soundbar is amazing The sound quality is fantastic especially when you pair it with a Samsung TV, The soundbar supports HDMI 2.1 and 2.4hz and 5hz wireless networks, The only problem that I had was the Subwoofer kept disconnecting from the Soundbar but after reading the online manual I was able to fix the problem by using the remote control to manually connect the Subwoofer, Overall I have had no issues at all and would recommend this Soundbar

The sound is so immersive and make it feels like theatrical experience at home. Definitely worth the upgrade from the Q990C
I first have to mention that the video reviews online fail to mention some key points on this soundbar system that have me in love.
The soundbar system offers the Chromecast feature which allows you to play 24 bit/96kHz audio which is awesome but also with Bluetooth 5.2 and a Samsung capable device (Z Fold 6 for me) I am able to start at 24 bit/48kHz audio which has been amazing.
I love the "sound grouping" feature which plays music at equal volume from all speakers - definitely a must when hosting a get together. "Private rear sound" is also a good touch whenever you need sound playing from only the rear speakers. I haven't used the private rear sound as much but it's nice knowing it's available.
Overall, I'm impressed and glad I upgraded from the Q990C

Great sound!
I helped my dad install this in his home and I love the sound quality and ability to feel inside the picture with the sound all around you. The quality is really worth it.
The only downside we found was the size and layout of his living room made placement difficult. Because of the open concept floor plan and having a bit smaller of a living room, the speakers are a bit of an eyesore. I wish someone would develop another shape of the side speakers, or at least have them be a bit more flat.
Aside from that, really a top quality set. We love samsung products.

I bought this at double the price of a $600 vizio soundbar with the same satellite speaker setup. However the speakers of this Samsung set are apmoat double the size.
Pros: it sounds amazing. It's loud. It's clear. Setup was easy. Connection and use is easy. The functionality has been flawless so far. The old vizio had constant occasional "bugs" where it would sync up with the TV or it wouldn't turn on. Would need to be reset... new firmware updates. This Samsung has none of those issues so far. I can't stress enough the difference in sound quality directly relating to the price of these units. I've used 150 dollar sound bars... 300 dollar bars... my 600 vizio... and now this Samsung. You get what you pay for.
Cons: none so far.
Maybe a geads up that the soundbar is large so just be mindful of the measurements before you buy and where you are going to put it.

I have a samsung 65 qled q70 series TV and pairing this sound bar was so simply.
Connect the earc hdmi cable and follow on-screen instructions what a breeze!
This soundbar makes my living room feel like a home theatre seriously, it's amazing 10/10 worth the cost!
I know a wired theatre system would be better but I live in an apartment and can hide cables in wall like I would love to do. This is the best all in one system or home theatre in a box.

You can't get a picture with a better brightness-to-contrast ratio, but then you might want a surround sound option, and that's where this beast comes in. Not only is it standard surround sound, but it's also Dolby Atmos, meaning you get more immersion based on overhead sound.

Excellent soundbar system!
I purchased this soundbar system about 2 weeks ago and I am very happy with it. I did a lot of research before purchasing it, and it has very high reviews overall. I know that most soundbar systems have a slight latency between the dialog as it is spoken and the soundbar output, but I understand that this system is as good as it gets. Since I was also purchasing a Samsung QLED Neo television at the same time, it was a no-brainer to get a matching soundbar system. My wife and I wanted a new television because our hearing is starting to decline noticeably. When we would watch television, we had to have the closed caption on, in order to distinguish the dialog over the background noise and music in the television shows that we would watch. Both the television and the soundbar use AI to bring out the dialog, and it is a noticeable difference from past televisions and technology. We no longer have to turn on the closed caption, because we can hear the dialog very well.

I've had the 990D about 3 weeks, the sound is okay, not great. The hype on social media is not accurate at all.
Also sad that the system was $1200 when i started shopping and ended up spending $2000 when all said and done.
Also, never buy through Best buy, not the best service. I made the mistake of having an old address on my account, noticed it next day, called, changed it, received confirmation. It took two additional weeks to get it and they still sent it to my old address, 150 miles away. I drove and picked it up myself:( oh the package was destroyed, luckily no damage inside.

This one-star rating is for the terrible service I received from Samsung. I placed my order back in December, and I still haven’t received the product. Don’t rely on the delivery dates they show on their website—they won’t tell you if the item is on backorder. My estimated delivery date has been pushed back repeatedly. I contacted their support team via online chat (four times) and phone (once), but none of them were helpful, even though they assured me they would do their best to resolve the issue. They also gave me false information. For instance, one online supervisor promised compensation would be credited to my account within a week, but that never happened. I can’t believe such a large company provides such poor service.

Bought the sound bar on sale and thoroughly impressed with everything about it. The only thing about it that may be considered a negative is it is humongous for the bedroom. I have it in, but I suppose that’s to be expected for the incredible sound you get out of it Dolby Atmos literally surround you. It’s such an incredible sound system. I will be buying another similar system in the future when this one’s time comes, but I feel like this has a long way to go. The quality of the build is incredible sturdy heavy duty. I didn’t know Samsung made products this excellent.

Amazing sound and Easy Setup
I am hearing impaired and purchase this device several month ago with the hopes that it would help me to better understand what people are saying in shows. Not only have I no longer needed to completely rely on closed captions now, but I was absolutely blown away by how clear everything sounds, from background sounds to dialogue.
For movies, the audio sounds exactly as I would have imagined the audio engineers wanted the movie to sound. Even with the dialogue enhancing turned off, can still hear everything perfectly. The background sounds realistic and transports me into the movie.
For music, I wasnt expecting a major difference, however even here it excels in ways I never even realized music could sound. Additionally, setting the rear speaks to 'Sound Grouping' makes the music perfect for everyone in the room to hear at an even level no matter where you are.
The only isue I have is that I can no longer go to the movie theaters because the sound quaity there is awful in comparison to this system.

It's a fraction of the price of what I paid for my 20-year-old, 6.1-channel, wired, multi-speaker system yet it sounds much, much better. The integration with my TV, Blu-ray 4K UHD player, and Spotify Connect on WiFi brings seamless convenience.
What would make it a 5-star system to me are, 1) 7-band equalizer enabled for all sound modes, 2) ability for Channel Levels to be set separately for Left and Right sides, and 3) ability to play Apple Music in full Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos when on WiFi.

My feelings towards Q990D soundbar
Truthfully I didn’t think I’d enjoy this as much as I do since I have a small room and this is placed in the corner, but despite the space constraints this still manages to sound amazing and give me 3D effects all throughout my room. Night mode and active voice enhancement are great as I can sleep to any podcasts or horror stories I enjoy binging. It works surprisingly seamlessly with my LG C4 and my PS5, the bass is nice as deep with movies, games, and music. Adaptive works surprisingly well with music and I’ve grown to prefer these over my old HomePod Gen 2’s for music, I never have to turn the volume past 10% to hear things clearly, 15% if I want louder music, and 20% if I want my house to rattle! Despite the subwoofer only being 8 inches, it puts out a great amount of thump and sounds pretty clean for a Ported sub, it is quite a bit boomy though but overall this is amazing. Definitely would recommend to anyone, and the price really sealed the deal for me. Cannot beat the amount of performance you’re getting for the price.

My Samsung HW-Q990D soundbar became completely unresponsive after an automatic firmware update on March 13, 2025. It has been 7 days now (March 20, 2025), and there is still no solution—no response from Samsung, no working reset method, and no official statement addressing this issue.
Every time I contact Samsung customer service, they keep saying, "We are still discussing the issue." But what is there to discuss? Customers don’t need discussions—we need a fix for the problem that Samsung’s own firmware update caused! Instead of taking responsibility, they refuse to send a technician and keep telling customers to wait indefinitely.
This is not the first time Samsung products have had major firmware-related failures, and their after-sales service is terrible. For a premium-priced soundbar, this kind of treatment is unacceptable. Avoid Samsung products if you expect reliable support!

Update Turned My Soundbar Into A Brick
I have had this soundbar for less than a year and while I enjoy its performance overall, Samsungs latest firmware update for it has turned it into a brick. It doesn’t work at the moment because of THEIR update and no timeline has been given for a resolution. So currently I have a very expensive brick.

Very happy with the purchase, it’s been a year now I have been using this product never been disappointed a single day. Dolby atoms effect is spectacular! Be it movies, sports or listening to just music you will never miss a single detail of the sound. The rear speakers does an amazing job in creating a surround effect. I have some other brands sound system at my home but, this one really stands out.
Highly recommend for someone looking for a next level surround sound music system!

Samsung killed my soundbar and doesn't want to fix
I bought samsung q990d half year ago. Everything was great until recent automatic update. Samsung just killed my soundbar. Customer help is really customer Scam. I live in Florida, but apparently my product is mane for Canada. They toss me between back and forth and nobody can help.
They made the product, then they killed it by update, and now they can't fix the issue they created.
Product is good until they kill it by update.
I lost my trust to the company and super frustrated by the situation.

I would not recommend this product or any other product from Samsung for that matter. They have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I had the Q990D sound bar for just under a year and it stopped working. I had over 8 hours invested between numerous phone calls and chat messaging just to get this back to their repair center for service. I don't think they allow enough characters for me to write all that went wrong with trying to accomplish this unit being returned for service. I had a similar poor service issue with a refrigerator that was under warranty. I'm no longer a fan or a buyer for Samsung products.

I Did Not know what I was Missing!
I had a smaller Atmos surround sound setup before but had no idea what I was missing with Q-Symphony from Samsung. Combining the TVs speakers (QN85) that sound great on their own. With the HW-Q990D 11.1.4ch soundbar with rear speakers added to the TVs speakers using Q-Symphony, this made my old system sound outdated and drab and it wasn't that bad or old a system being an Atmos 9.1.1 sound bar.
The sound is just so crisp from this system that my son who is a huge car audio buff came into the theater room in shock at the clarity of the speakers from the other side of the house. I had the theater room door open and he literally thought it was coming from the next room and not upstairs and the other side of the house.
Not only does this sound amazing with shows and movies, gaming on the XBox has me finding myself playing more without my Atmos headset.
Setup was way easier than I expected after reading other reviews. Q-Symphony supported sound device was detected by the TV and it did its thing for me. I was very pleased.

Amazingly Impactful Sound - Most of the time?
So I needed to replace my old Samsung 3D TV with something perfect for the bedroom and I decided while I was added I'd replace my old sound bar also. For a couple of years I've rocked the Samsung HW-Q800A and have been feeling like I'm missing out on surround effects. So I went all out with the purchase of Q990D to pair with my new Samsung S90D OLED.
I love action movies and live music so the sound bar should be perfect, right? Well the only other surround setup I have in my house are some Infinity Beta 50 setup in my game room upstairs. Well my kids have taken over the game room and those big towers barely get used. Besides being about 19 years old the Big infinity and CSW10 sub would deliver a cinematic impact on par with some of the nicest movie theaters. I knew going in that the Q990D would be able to deliver the same impact but I expected the Atmos sound effects to make up for the lack of heft.
I have to say it does and doesn't as I haven't been able to get consistent fullness in the surround sound effects the bar sounds awesome for the big marvel films like End Game but for stuff like the Quiet Place you don't get the shuttle drips and creeks the ups the suspense.
What about my second love, music? Again when you crank it the bar and included sub definitely can deliver defining levels of sound and the roll off to the sub is really good but you will miss the fullness and airyness the giant towers deliver. Still best sound bar I've ever heard.

This Surround sound system Is Absolutely Amazing
I just recently purchased the Samsung Q990D home theater system after doing a lot of research and learning all about the new wireless, Bluetooth surround sound systems. I had an older, wired 1000w system, and decided it was time to upgrade after I purchased the new Samsung qn75s80d tv earlier this year. From a lot of what I read online, and what many people have told me, Samsung is the best surround sound system out now, unless you want to go and spend $10-30k on a very high end system, which I was not going to do. I received my new home theater system, it was easy to unbox and setup. It auto calibrated. I can control the bass level from -6 to +6, and let me tell you… with it cranked all the way up…. The floor and walls shake! This home theater system uses adaptive room technology to read the room and bounce the sound all around. I’ve been watching movies and gotten up to go open the front door because a knock on the movie made me think someone was there. Don’t even get me started on horror movies! It is the best sound system I’ve ever owned, amazing for playing music , or for gaming, or watching movies and really is a game changer that immerses you in the movie even better than a movie theater, in my opinion. I highly recommend the Q990D home theater system, it’s been voted by many places #1 for a couple years or more now. You won’t be disappointed. Just be careful the first time you crank the volume up and do it slowly….. this system is a powerhouse!

The sound from this soundbar is superb, very clear and clean. The 1 thing it's missing is the ability to add a larger or second sub for this if us that want a little more kick. Don't get me wrong, the sub that comes with it works great, just wish it had the flexibility.

I am very pleased with this soundbar system, easy to setup and link to my tv.
I had to update my tv software to get the full use of the system. The soundbar is much heavier than my old one because of the number of speakers enclosed. It is almost as long as my 65 inchTV is wide.

Works great out the box, sounds good.
Had a problem with it disconnecting from the app, and not be recognized, but somehow it fixed itself.
Sounds good, doesn’t have the stuff that Bose has to direct the sound to your position in the room, but it does have multiple adaptive and surround sound modes that work decent, and night/ audio mode are good.

I've been wanting to upgrade from my Samsung Q80R Soundbar for quite some time now. I was previously looking into the Q990C and the reviews were extremely positive. One of the major factors that sold me on the Q990D is the 4k 120 passthrough. I'm a gamer that values this feature tremendously. Even though I know I could connect directly to my TV, to have the flexibility and additional ports that supports this is a plus. Along with the sound upgrade, the choice was clear. The rear speakers are simply amazing. All the content I watch, just becomes even more elevated and extremely captivating. The Q990D packs a serious punch and I am here for it!!! It's a beast of a Soundbar!

Great soundbar, but missing this feature.
I use my soundbar for a variety of listening experiences. I'm a huge music fan and the sound from this soundbar is excellent. I also watch a lot of movies and sporting events and the atmos effect when available is great, I have a low ceiling, about 8-9 feet. The feature this is missing is dual subwoofers and the availability of a larger 1 for more pinch.

I’ve had the Q990 D sound bar now for three months and absolutely love it actually bought a new Samsung TV to go with it and the sound is absolutely fantastic. The louder you play it the better it sounds the subwoofer really puts out a fantastic Deep base it is a must buy well worth the money.

I got this soundbar to complement my QN90D 85 inch tv. I read a lot of reviews on line that described it as the best soundbar of 2024. I happy to confirm that it definitely is! The sound is spectacular. The subwoofer shakes my house even on the low settings. Q symphony works just as intended. It is quite loud, so if you are in the communal living such as apartments or condominiums, beware as it will wake up your neighbors ??

Overall quite satisfied. Was very easy to set up. My big criticism is that there isn't an RCA input in the soundbar. I have a record player that has an RCA output, but no corresponding RCA input in the soundbar. I had to buy a DAC to convert the analog RCA signal to digital suitable for the optical input that the soundbar comes with.

Love the Q990-D! Pairs perfectly with my Samsung tv. And bass doesn't overpower the voices which is the issue I've had with some soundbars, clarity is amazing. The surround sound is also top notch. I use the soundbar bar for movies and TV, and I couldn't be more pleased. The volume I can get out of this set up is crazy good. I would recommend this soundbar ten out of ten times, especially if it's paired with a samsung tv for the q symphony feature.

I have been following samsung soundbar since hwn950, there have been a significant improvement each generation and the q990d seems to be a mature product that will check every box. The sound is clear and strong, I was never able to crank it up to the max since I don't want to disturb a neighbor, the bass is super strong so I had to keep the volume down during the last of season two to be able to continue watching without having nightmare later on. Atmos effect is awesome and sound bubble is top notch after adjusting the position of speakers. Setup is easy and quick and using the device is quite simple. A true flagship home cinema experience with reasonable price.

Product is best bang for the buck
We have this in our living room. Use it mainly for tv, movies, and gaming. The surround sound. Fell is great. Definitely an upgrade from our previous bar only setup. Music sounds ok. Could be better there but we don’t use it for that too much so it’s good for now.

Just picked up the Samsung HW-Q990D and wow—this thing rips. It’s like having a full-blown theater in my living room. The 11.1.4 channel setup? Insane. Living Room TV to Home Theater in Seconds
This setup instantly turned my Q60D into an immersive home theater like none other. It’s totally changed the way my son and I watch TV together. We now look for movies and shows that have “cool, big sounds” as my 5 year old likes to call them. We don’t watch a ton of tv, but the few things we watch per week are so upleveled! Best tech purchase in years.

Sound is amazing
The Q990D Soundbar is connected to my Samsung QN90D85 tv in the living-room of my condo. The Q-Symphony function makes this soundbar sound amazing. It also has an adaptive sound function to adjust the sound for your particular living space.
The sub-woofer and rear speakers are connected by blue tooth so running wires was not required. A little pricey but worth it.

Great for movies surround is awesome Gaming I use adaptive sound which sound amazing. When listen to music I would suggest switch it to front only as it seem to sound better. This can be done in smart things app. Syncs to TV great and no issues with setup. This is a great system. I had doubts but I messed with sound and setting I am happy with this it's great. Side speakers require plugs little bit on a con but I had outlets so it works for me.

Great price, now that it's an "older model"
What a night and day difference going from an older soundbar that was included for free with my TV purchase years ago, and now the Samsung Flagship Q990.
The sound is so crisp that I no longer need to crank the volume or turn on subtitles to understand the dialog. I can actually feel a subtle base rumble from the sub (it's still set at 0) when it's just ambiance noise, and it really kicks during loud parts.

I love my soundbar! it's the best one that I've owned to date. As a serious audio file, i find it's the best on the market. Although it's a little pricey,i love the 11 channels that you get and how it makes the entire room sound like you're involved in the movie. with the subwoofer, you can feel the jets as you're watching top gun rumble your seat

Usually, it's when my teenagers are blaring their "generic" little speakers in their bedrooms. I am not always a fan of some of their music selections. So, I just play my own personal orchestra over the the sound system as loud as I want to in our living room. Depending on my stress levels and how much I feel like implementing to my offspring to "attempt showing interest" in what other people enjoy, also. This, uh..., ya know..., helps them to be less self centered and more open-minded to the world around them.
It brings me so much peace (you have no idea). Thank you so much!

Really great surround sound system!
Definitely a great surround sound system. But also a wonderful all around audio system. From Bluetooth from my Samsung 23ultra or for streaming music from an app on the tv... to watching a great action packed movie or a kids movie with my son. The realistic sound from the Q Series sound system is packed full of unbelievably awesome powerful fullness. Really great for hosting parties or a nice calm evening of relaxing sounds. Just as any of the Samsung products, the Q series definitely does not disappoint and will continue to make Samsung my choice over and over again!

Audio sound is out of this world
I hooked up my Samsung soundbar to my laptop have it to Dolby Atmos. And played my games via it. When I heard the sound of a character in my game. It literally felt like someone was actually there even though that real authentic audio was the game through the soundbar. The multi channels are amazing each demonstrating it's own independent audio output. Each channels speaker's enabled to customize i love that. You can even calibrate the audio when watching a movie to hear the individual voice more clear and at point. The subwoofer base is like having a bass drum beat right next to your ears. The display screen to the right is a nice touch. You could even customize the distance of the sound at your convenience if your room is small or large. Over all this device is a beast! Playing my my music Playlist through the soundbar is soo in my face i get nervous it might disrupt people in my home or neighbors. But the cool thing is that they have a feature for that where the audio stays in your room environment and not cause a disturbance with other people in the same area in my home. I think that option is called night audio not specifically sure. Over all Samsung made this soundbar unprecedented quality at a reasonable price in my opinion. Thank you SAMSUNG!.

This system is exactly what we wanted. The Q990D with satellite ?? speakers for the rear. The sound is incredible. Our room is 17x11 and is incredible. The sub in the corner on the floor the center (surround) bar hung on the wall under the 75" Samsung TV, satellite ?? speakers level on stands behind the couch or our right & left. Amazing sound. All of the options are what we were looking for. For us we didn't need to upgrade to the (E) or (F) model. Impressed with this unit. Also I used to be an audiophile, the total surround speakers all over the room the big powerful Onkyo receiver etc. this thing isn't bulky like the old systems and has incredible sound and clear just what we were looking for. I have a friend that is a surround sound geek and does this for a living over 20 years and recommended this system.. so glad I changed over to this instead of the "Old style ". Good job Samsung. I also appreciate the "Military ??? Discount". Supporting your Veterans ????. That goes a LONG way with me!!

I have had at least 4 other nice Samsung soundbars and not even any of those could they come close to do what this bad boy does . Closes one had to this Samsung bar was a LG one and it was my first dolby atmos soundbar and it was their flagship also but it couldn't hold nothing close to the samsung soundbar

I've never experienced a soundbar that I REALLY loved till I bought the Samsung Q990D. Paired with my Samsung 98" DU9000 TV, it brings a whole new level to the term "high-tech home theater". There's simply no comparison to watching TV in 4K with a top-of-the-line Dolby Atmos soundbar, and this is it!
The best part is you can take advantage of the TV's speakers in a combined feature called Q-Symphony. The integrated soundbar system uses the TV's speakers as a sort of center channel. Everything was set up out of the box in literally 10-15 minutes, including the subwoofer and satellite speakers (all of which connect to the soundbar wirelessly as soon as you plug in the power).
The sound is beyond amazing, whether playing a movie, concert, etc, and if you like to play music *loud* it can definitely do that too!
10/10 on all fronts - price, quality, ease of setup/use, value, and overall experience...

To be honest, the Q990D is one of the best sound bar in market. The Sound Clarity is just fantastic. My one downside was the Sub was a disappointment, especially when listening to music. I bought one but returned it. I returned it after buying it for this reason. I wanna try the new Q990F. Hopefully the new sub is better. I also wish Sumsang offered the option to hook 2 subs.
