Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ink a plus. Not quite up to par in convenience. Printing from Mobile Devices is limited to certain brands unless you use a 3rd party app even over Wi-Fi. The printer also sleeps and is not awakened by print request from mobile devices. Prior to ordering the printer I checked to see if it was compatible with Chromebook with an affirmation from Brother. However, when I tried to pair the 2, they were not compatible and there was no information from Brother online...I had to search for about 45 minutes to find a reviewer who revealed that the Mopria App would bridge the gap here. Very frustrating. It is also very frustrating to have to go from one room to another to "wake up" the printer in order to make it print.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brother printer Bought this particular printer because I do photo calendars and needed a printer that could accommodate card stock. My first task for my new printer was the calendars. Worked very well for 6 calendars. On the seventh the printer printed half of the page and stopped in the printer. Shut it off to retrieve the page. It did it a second time. Frustrated, I used another printer to complete the job. I have been using it for small plain paper jobs without incident. Hopefully that was just a glitch and won’t happen again. I bought the extended warranty so hopefully if something happens again it will happen while still on warranty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Compact Printer that does it all I bought this to replace my old printer, probably 15 years old. It started to smudge the edges of printed pages. This printer was on sale at Costco. It pretty much does all your needs at home, print, copy, scan, and fax. I have used the 1st three functions. No one faxes anymore. So far, it works very nicely. This is a wireless printer. This feature is so convenient. Now I could print on my cell phone. By the time I walk to the printer, the pages are ready printed. Nice.........

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty Good Printer Good printer so far. Scans and prints very fast. Quality is good. Only problem I have had is that one of rollers on the paper feeder on the scanner was off (out of place) when I set the printer up. Once I located it and got it out of the feeder mechanism and got it back in place it has stayed there so far. The paper feed works pretty well but the sheets that have been scanned don't stack well and get scrambled sometime. Ink seems to be reasonably priced and it appears that I will be able to use non-OEM ink if I want to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Second times a charm As soon as I plugged in the first machine they sent me, I got a "paper jam" error, even though there was no paper in the machine. After trying to figure things out myself, I did call customer service and, after an hour on the phone, they decided to send me a new machine. That was great and it works perfectly. I am a bit put off by the fact that they offered me no easy way to return the defective product to them or any instructions about how I might recycle it. As someone with mobility issues, this was a bit difficult.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Started off good, got bad, then Brother helped The printer works well. Had an issue when we used a thicker paper to print on. The machine would continue to jam every time. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because Brother replaced it. The company stands behind their products. Be careful the type of paper. Be sure to use the back loader if a thicker paper to avoid damage and jams.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice printer with a quirk A compact printer that has some pluses: big paper tray, two sided printing. Good quality. We had a setup problem, with an immediate request that we “update the firmware”. This was really challenging, requiring that a very long wacky hidden password be entered on the tiny display on the printer itself. No actual keyboard to do so however. Just an antiquated matrix where you scroll up and down arrows to find the character, and change to upper case and a numerical display. No clear detailed instructions. I finally gave up and spent a couple of hours with tech support. What a hassle and time waster. I have not tried the scanner yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WIFI Limitation My one complaint is that the printer and my desk top do not share WIFI as my previous Brother printer did. I need to get WIFI from the printer before I can access on my computer. I live in a retirement facility with in house WIFI provided by Dual Path. A professional had to hook it up via USB which limits where I can move the printer. Extra cost for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfection, almost I have had brother printers all my life. It's the only brand I buy. They are reliable and durable. I have owned brother printers since 1987. This model is fabulous. Connects right away, no problems, super fast. My only complaint and the reason I cannot give five stars is I wish it had a larger paper capacity like my last model with two drawers.

It's connected now and making great prints. We like the small footprint and soft color - no more big black box! Two years of ink remains to be seen.

Cons: horrible color/picture quality, can't double side print from top document feeder, laggy touch screen menu, feels low quality. I had an HP before this one and went back to an HP after this one and am much happier with HP. Would not recommend this printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely suggest this printer It is taking me a while to get used to it but it is quiet and fast. I just have a problem with card making using the rear of the printer for cards. Wish I could just put card stock in the front. Other than that I like the printer. I had a HP for ages but like this one better.
